Although I thoroughly enjoy remakes in general, specially from Capcom, they in NO WAY replace the OG games.

Some people act like they really don't, which I never understood. I could understand being disappointed with a remake for whatever reason. But the original game will always be there.
I'll always want great remakes of great games that are deserving of them. But the truth is you can't make everyone happy.
Is that what the videos are trying to say? I mean, I just didn't want to have to watch random videos at all to get what the point of this thread was, lol. I don't even understand the point of making a thread to be like, "Hey, watch this video."

I like it a lot, but they missed completely the atmosphere and vandalized its soundtrack. It looks a good remake because the original game is very old and technically vastly inferior, but from an artistic point of view is like comparing gourmet to McDonalds.
I love this one BUT they put in hundreds of enemies for no other reason than "more action for modern audiences", which is a mistake.
Modern creators fail to understand the beauty of minimalism done right.

I think losing the original art direction and sound design while also streamlining the gameplay experience has been a double-edged sword and in some cases can cheapen the experience.
But I also think Remake Culture and even the plethora of Remasters just tells me a lot of companies do not have any new stories to tell or great ideas for a game.
Or you get jaded when you've "been there, done that" and nothing excites you anymore.

That's totally fair! I personally didn't get as irked as others did across the board, but I get it. I still think it's one of the most visually captivating games this gen.
Yeah, I can agree with that. They went a little heavy handed into the action in some areas. That's probably my only real negative about it, but it absolutely pales compared to all the positive.
I mean, you're the OP. If you're going to make a thread, why not give us a reason why and your own opinion rather than just pasting some random Youtube videos? Apparently I pushed a button, my bad, lol.

nah big budget games have destroyed the industry. I mean during the PS1 era for $49.99. you would get all kids of risky ideas. and some would hit and some wouldn't. but they kept pumping them out. You would get a tekken and a few bloody roars.
now days its big budget, proper indes, and a 5 billion crapware that make money on putting out 30 shit games with art and logos that kind of look like the games they are pretending to be to sucker people in.

You literally named some of the worst remakes that have ever been made (besides the Resident Evil 1 and 2 ).
Demon Souls Demake is substantially worse than the OG, it ruined the atmosphere, the sound effects, the music etc .
Silent Hill 2 ? Shadow of Colossus ? Did I accidentally land on Resetera or something? You're seriously trying to tell me that these slop remakes are just as good or even better than the original releases ?
