Remedy Games will be acquired/purchased by Sony, mark my words.

Will Remedy Games be acquired by Sony?

I don't think Sony needs more "Cinematic Games" in my honest opinion. They have Top Tier studios that already bake of that kind. But nonetheless Remedy is a talented studio and I'd rather they be bought by either Sony or MS instead of the likes of EA or Activision.

I doubt it. The studios they already own that make third-person story-oriented games are all better than the studd Remedy puts out. It would just be more of the same, but not as good.

Yep, even Yoshida was at Remedy's studio some months ago and iirc guys of Naughty Dog and Santa Monica retweeted that, there's definitively something in the air.

I think they could even pull out a Uncharted reboot, ive read how Sam Lake loves the saga and admires the Dog's.

Remedy could start on some games that are heavenly focused on ray tracing. They have some experience right now with Control.

I also think they have something bigger in development since Control's game assets are all from Quantum Break.

I don't think they will unless Control becomes a hit which I don't think it will be. I don't think it will appeal to the non-enthusiasts (the kinds of people who don't go to IGN/Gaf/etc. to read/discuss game news). And I don't think it has enough hype to attract a lot of enthusiasts at least so far.

I don't think Sony is interested in a company who has a lukewarm record.

Why, they've made nothing but duds for years. MS had all incentive to buy them and haven't so far. Sony just bought a studio they were already close with.

Lol at the poll :D
I doubt it's happening. Remedy has not a history working with Playstation which is something that Sony pretty much considers a requirement for an acquisition also reality is that Remedy hasn't made successful games in a good while and it doesn't seem like Control will change that unfortunately.
Maybe they could be hired to develop a new IP for Sony through a 2nd party deal.

GerAlt-Right. Ciriously.
Literally this, it would be single player storydriven software house number 2490303683022... Sony needs Housemarque and Bluepoint, not Remedy.
WHY

DOES

SONY

NEED

BLUEPOINT?

I cannot figure out for the life of me why a studio that is best known for porting/remastering older would make a great edition to the Sony portfolio. They don't develop games, they take other peoples games and make run on modern hardware, which they do better than anybody else. They are the best at what they do, no doubt.

Bluepoint is far better as an independent where they can take older games from all publishers and modernize them.

They have a strict relationship with Sony and they want to explore areas other than remastered and remake, could be a good to great resource for Sony.

Apparently, Im in the minority, but I think it would be a good acquisition for Sony.

Sony, for the most part, supports their first party studios very very well and I think that will be the push Remedy needs to be successful.

They totally fit in with PlayStation but I would just like Sony to branch out a bit more in their purchases. I'd just like something more unique.

I think Remedy are fantastic. They developed what is maybe my favourite third-person shooter of all time in Max Payne 2.

But do Sony really need another studio of their ilk? I love me some third-person, story-orientated adventure games, but first-party wise, it wouldn't hurt for Sony to shake things up and acquire a developer that specialises in a different genre.

Once Control tanks hard in sales they may need the studio to survive, they may not be in a good position if the bosses are selling stocks. Not sure if MS or Sony will buy them.

Looking at their type of games they fit better with Sony, but looking at their history they may fit better with MS. But not sure if their relationship with MS ended with a good ending. I'd say it isn't the case, so they may not want to sell the studio to MS (or MS may not by interested due to poor sales of their previous games) and would prefer to go with Sony instead.

But if bosses are selling stock it may mean they don't see the possibility of selling the studio. Regarding Sony, maybe because of poor sales of previous games, because Sony prefers to buy studios who already had a long relationship with them, because they may think that already have enough studios working on games of this type or because won't buy studios for a while because they just bought Insomniac and spent their budget to buy studios that they had for this or next year.

I see a smaller European publisher like THQ Nordic or Koch Media buying Remedy. Maybe even Ubisoft.

Meh I wish they'd setup jRPG studio or acquire any. It annoys me too to some degree this whole talk "3rd actions games only!111" but there's some truth to it lol. And remedy games are mediocre imo so...
No we need more 3rd person games.
