I don't know... I mean, I just can't understand why you and some other people (on both sides) are doing this console warring so vehemently. It's like some of you are so invested like you designed the console or something.
It's not console warring, at least not on my end. Look at it this way, some people around here like to make outlandish proclamations, try to make things appear bad when they aren't, try to push narratives which make something appear much better than it is or without full information.

I merely level the playing field. Make a stupid claim and it comes full circle that you're wrong? Yeah, you're going to hear about it. Tout power to no end for a year and then it doesn't pan out then the narrative switches to an SSD with no carnal knowledge of how it will really benefit games beyond another? Yeah, you're going to hear about it.

Remedy being bought by Sony was fodder thrown around for months to own the "Xbots", and how did that pan out?

Like I said, checks and balances.

But what you do is indeed a part of this warring. Why do you care this much? And you only care about Microsoft, that's what my orignal question was about. As I said everywhere I see you posting it's about cherishing/defending MS or attacking Sony. And I know you are not the only one, but you are among the ones who appear in most of these fights.

I don't care about Microsoft, I care about gaming, but they're the only ones I really see tall tales being spread about, the only ones I see people actively trying to kneecap and it's simply not justified.

They're already the underdog, why should a bunch of what equates to "Fake News" be allowed to spread surrounding them? Someone has to say something. If it's factual and justifiable then that's fine, but if it's just a bunch of ignorant BS then I have a problem with it.

Fair enough. Though you still give me the impression of an MS soldier at least now I get where you are coming from.

I dont think it's Alan Wake.
Remedy don't have a habit of milking their IPs.
If anything I think it will be another Max Payne, with the smaller game being some kind of DLC.
Max Payne would sell a ton more than another Alan Wake.
Pretty good deal there for Remedy. Didn't even have to use Unreal engine lol.

If only we got a real Max Payne sequel from them... Sadly, this has the least chance among their games. Rockstar has the rights.

So Epic are publishing multiplatform title on next gen consoles? And Gen Design are signed up.

So Gen Design are confirmed multiplatform for their next game? Because that would be pretty cool.

Can the insiders be any more wrong and off the mark. Fucking hell kek. Good news for everyone all round.

(except the Steam zealots but no one cares about them)

If I read that correctly Epic is covering all costs, salaries , publishing for game development. Then once the IP all revenue goes to epic. Once epics costs are paid in full then it's a 50% 50 between the dev and epic. That doesn't souls all too great to me for a dev
??
Are you kidding?
Fully funded, devs keep ownership of the IP AND get a fat 50% of the revenue if/after costs are covered?
I don't even like Epic but that deal sounds EXCEPTIONALLY GOOD compared to what most publishers would offer.
Credit where credit is due.

EDIT: In fact it's so good, that there are good chances it will turn as a loss for Epic, especially given that it will probably be exclusive to their service and Remedy doesn't exactly have a good history of making giant hits that sell truckloads of copies.

I guess people can’t get mad at them for being Epic Store exclusive for at least these 2 games.

The more money being put into the industry the better it is for devs.

Seems like a win-win.

It's zero-risk for Remedy. If the game fails Epic pays for it. If the game succeeds both Epic and Remedy get paid. And in both cases Remedy keeps the IP.

It's a tremendous deal for Remedy.

Yep, looks great for them.
Will the fact that it most likely will only be on Epic and not Steam hurt sales?
