Isn't it normal to smoke blunts and then do Tower Defense?

Also, that's racist. Seriously, the music? The editing? Agenda much?

Any idea how many Teamsters were drinking shots that lunchtime? A LOT.

Fire them. Problem solved. Why is this news?

Shit happens all the time. Were they driving a bus full of kids? No? Then just shit can them and be done with it.

If their actions affected the quality of the product, they should be fired, but not before the quality engineers. It would be more an indictment of their process than of any of these individual employees.

I'd imagine there's some fear of the body armor getting fucked up and working as well as peanut brittle.

I'm still watching the video but the reporting is horrible.

"And these are some of the PEOPLE who work at this factory".

I think the word they were looking for is "Employees"?

Some of those people.

Well the quality of the employee is generally compromised when high/drunk. Even if the body armor is fine, the employees should still be fired immediately.
Honestly if it's just manual labor I don't think it would matter.

Not really, since most of that armor is probably hand welded. Unless you're calling for robot welding and adding to the unemployment rolls.

Yeah, apart from the people who are driving the heavy machinery getting drunk, the reporters make out factory work to be precision shit that only highly qualified scientists should be performing. These employees probably have very specific, very repetitive, and very boring tasks they each have to do every day and they could probably do them in their sleep.

I say who gives a fuck as long they're making shit up to par. Weed isn't even a big deal and it's unlikely they'll drink enough alcohol to make much difference during the time span of their lunch break.

Also, I'm gonna bet like half the people who will condemn them have had a drink during their lunch break before.

Agreed. I'm not a fan of drug testing. Just common sense. When your work shift is done, feel free to go get high as a kite. But while on the clock....c'mon man....

Should you also have to wait till you go home to drink a pot of coffee or smoke cigarettes.. ?

You don't understand. Any company that has one employee handle such a product and then ships it deserves to lose the contract. I guarantee they do not operate this way. Individual employees messing up, no matter the reason, should never result in defective products leaving the building. The process should prevent it, and if it doesn't their issues extend far beyond employees getting high at lunch.

Don't companies test for drug-use in the US? Shit like this can get you fired in a hurry where I'm from, and smoking weed is legal over here.

I would consider myself an enthusiastic smoker and I still don't think this is good. This just perpetuates the stereotype that smokers can't get high and juggle a productive, responsible professional life.

That said...how many dozen CEO's are doing cocaine off the body of a hooker on the clock as we speak?

Anyone ever work construction? These guys are lightweights. All of those very tall buildings in Chicago were built with drugs and alcohol.

The ideology that this isn't bad because every other industry does the same or harder drugs while working is quite troubling....

I'd say most companies that involve dangerous machinery likely have random wiz quizzes in the US. At least that is my experience.

So? I wish everyone at work would smoke a blunt at lunch, I'd have to deal with far fewer uptight fuckwads.

They're whistleblowing on some underpaid factory workers? Too crazy for words.

better to deal with than some dude addict-rattling 10 minutes from his break due to cigarette cravings.

I'd rather be round weed smokers and benzo poppers my self.

I like a clear mind at work so i stay clear from all.

I was just about to ask the same thing, this is nothing new, and honestly it's gone on for a long time and obviously not a huge issue.

I'm not going to defend employees getting high/drunk on the job as something that's not the least bit disconcerting. However, something about this story just isn't sitting right with me. So, lunch time at this successful military contractor consists of a dozen black people simultaneously waltzing out to get high and/or drunk within sight of the factory?

Maybe I'm wrong, but it's hard for me to shake the feeling that a lot of disingenuous and overly-selective editing went into the production of this segment.

Nobody should do drugs or get drunk at work.
Hiring felons for National Security work seems stupid.

But the report is dripping with racist bullshit.
