any of God's beautiful creations.
Awwwwkward. Beagles are cute though, I like it when lab animals get a chance to experience nature for the first time, like those apes a while back.

God is so good for letting those beagles finally see his glory after spending their lives in brutal captivity! PRAISE HIM!

Out of curiosity, what were they using the beagles for?

"they never saw sun, grass, trees, or any of God's beautiful creations."

Are they saying humans, who used these beagles for research, are not God's beautiful creations?

Sometimes with stories like this I try not to be emotional because the animals in question were being used in things like cancer research.

Yet in this case they were kept in cages for such a long time TO TEST COSMETICS. Fuck off humanity.

Edited due to misinformation on time frame in earlier story I saw about this.

The video says they were born in 2009.

So you're telling me you want your girlfriend to get skin disease next time she puts on some makeup, in order to save a few dogs? Come on man, greater good and shit.

i agree with you

I think these beagles were all around 2. Still, I dont agree with locking up animals to test cosmetics. Thats a large part of a dogs life.

Good stuff.

They don't look like purebreds, though. More like Beagle/Basset Hound mix.

Woah. You totally got them there.

I know the church used to frown on interracial marriage between humans, but what does the church think about mixed dog breeds?

Hard to watch stuff like this since there are so many more animals being tortured for such stupid reasons.

The most heart breaking part is, the article I read about this said they used beagles because they're most trusting of humans and are the least resistant. When someone ask why people cry over animals but not humans, it's because of shit like this.

Animal experimentation is so terrifying and so fucked up. I can't believe anyone has the capacity to commit such atrocities.

Do you believe that to be the case for things such as cancer research?

You should go tell that to diabetics when they take their insulin.

They should have just done all the testing on humans. Much less atrocious. Or they should have just let the diabetics die. Much less atrocious.

This begs two questions:

1. Is animal experimentation helpful, useful, effective?
2. And if so, do the ends justify the means?

Number 1 is up for debate, but I'm confident in saying that torturing ANY animal for the sake of saving human lives isn't justified. It's one of the highest atrocities humans can commit.

How can you possibly be interested in any sort of civil discourse when you openly accuse the other side of condoning "torture" and "atrocities"?

1) yes.
2) yes.

A human, in their capacity, can send something to the moon. A dog, nor any other living things besides human on earth, cannot.

Therefore, anything to help save or advance humanity justifies it

listen. if you don't like this, go into your bathroom. Throw away everything in there. Enjoy living your life =)

What we need to be opposed to is the stuff they did in places like Huntingdon Life Sciences.
These animals deserve compassion and respect.

Wasn't the modern Beagle created by the Brits in the 19th century or so through cross breeding and stuff?

These test have to happen somehow.

Cosmetic testing isn't something I'd call a necessary evil.

So if you were to get cancer would you reject all mainstream medical treatment out of principle?

Animal tests for commercial products should be banned.

But everyone here damning it, should think about their bacon-obsession. You would not want to see the living conditions of those animals.
(Well meat in general!)

My guess is omg.kittens is a vegan/vegetarian.

I wonder if he thinks testing new cancer treatments on humans would be atrocious.

I also wonder if he thinks not doing anything and letting people with cancer (and other diseases that have been cured thanks to animal testing) die would be atrocious.

How can I possibly engage with people who condone torture and mass murder?

How can I engage with people who shrug this shit off?

How can I engage with people who are so eager to destroy the lives of so many in the off chance that it might save other lives?

Disgusting. I'm done posting here.

Gaf never lets me down. Nice story and video about cute dogs, and multiple sarcastic responses about religion.
