Resetera's hypocrisy is in plain sight now and it's hard to argue that the more we dig, the more serious it gets. The story already got a lot of attention, Resetera's staff are purging everything, made some weird decisions, tried to shift the blame many times... Plus, we're not speaking about whether jacking off to "loli" is pedo or not anymore.
I've been following the reactions from some places, it's obvious some people have a clear agenda. Some others are trying to downplay the whole thing because they feel personally offended at people being weirded by minors depictions or pedo tendencies being displayed publicly, for some reasons.
I'm one broke woman and Resetera have something like 20 moderators, 7 admins and 40,000 zealots ready to throw themselves into a wild fire to defend Resetera's honor. They also have money and contact I don't have. I would like to thanks the few people who helped me, really. You weren't a lot. We did all of this by being 3 or 4 people, just imagine if more people cared. It would have went massive. I did my best though, I slept very little for 3 days straight and I value my health more than all of Resetera's shenanigan. Plus, diving into those kind of stuff isn't really healthy for your mental.
I'm open to mature discussions with Resetera's staff or members featured in the OP. I've already tried to contact some of them,

Just as a quick reminder : If Cerium had looked into the proof I gathered instead of brushing it off, 6 months ago, the problem would have been resolved very fast and I would never have went public about it. I gave him months before going public.
Mature discussions are invaluable, especially in those cases.
I've gave every proof/elements I had left to someone I trust. In case I miss some development, he'll post them in my stead by logging into my account on Neogaf. I'll step back for now, but I'll keep watching from afar now, unless Resetera's makes another weird decision toward me. I promised I'd an interview to someone who contacted me though and a promise is a promise.

This is literally the fasting moving thread in NewGAF history. So yeah, it's hard to keep track of whats what. But I read the OP, and the page I posted that on had several mentions of someone raping and murdering an 8 year old child. Judging by your lack of response, I'm guessing that it was hysteria? Sorry that you take it personally when I call that out.

Folks, as you can imagine this thread has generated a significant amount of reports. While the aim of some were to stifle the debate and just rejected by the team, others were more about the OT experience. As the topic caught fire and it was fast moving we didn't want to be too hands-on during a 'developing incident'. It seems to be slowing down now so we're just having a chat on what to do. The options are to merge into the main community offsite thread, or just move to OT and leave a perm redirect for off site linking and maybe close the 'reflects' thread. Any thoughts? We just want to throw this out there so there's no suspicion/raised eyebrows when we do eventually move it. It's purely about giving OT their light hearted, drama free board back while keeping this one open for those interested in a more suited sub board. We will consider thoughts and any input as always. We'll probably plan to move it in the next hour or two if there's no strong objections/compelling counter points.

That being said, reading a bit back I saw someone say that people have been scouring the Discord logs and contacting peoples' employers (or trying to at least)? While the schadenfreude is nice, if people are actually doing that y'all need to pump the breaks a bit. As many red flags as this stuff raises, there's still a lot of reading into shit that's going on that's being fueled by an extreme amount of confirmation bias here. Don't immediately turn to the ERA playbook out of a desire to stick it to people you don't like. If there's any fire behind the smoke, it'll burn its way out.

I think it should be moved to OT, but having 3 on-going Era threads there is absurd. I propose closing one of them (the 'resetera reflects' one, as it has become pretty much redudant with with 'Off-site Community Discussion' thread).

Well, I just tweeted this to a YouTuber I know of, Liana Kertzner. She does great work and has been burned by game journalism in the past. She mentioned a few interesting things:
- She was not aware of this issue before I tweeted the link to her.
- she doesnt like getting into private chat messages (not sure if that is what many are squemish about), but she agrees with the hypocrisy being there
- She might not be fully aware of what has been going on at ResetEra (as in the doxxing of the CDPR employee, the activism, their recent involvement in the Sony censorship activism). She's heard of how they have treated people, but I don't know if she knows how much they seem to be at the forefront of many of these issues without anyone taking enough notice about how much power and pull they could have.
I've also posted this to the GGDiscussion subreddit (a subreddit meant to find common ground in the two sides of the Gamergate controversy and to have a more rational debate instead of the mudslinging that happened). Their reaction is much the same about the pedo talk itself but their main problem is also what kind of message is this sending about their double standard and hypocrisy.
But, though I don't recommend harassing her or the subreddit, I think that Liana would be great to be able to at least discuss it.

Sometimes I feel bad for Resetera, because they come across as just braindead robots who lack any sense of self awarness.
They think that by having "numbers" they can spew whatever they want, when all it really means is you just have a bigger brainwashed crowd operating in an echo chamber, that's all.

Considering your post-split post history consists of nothing but hot takes and jabs at the new community, I’d say your history counts for nothing at this point. You aren’t the only one and you aren’t special. There was one person who used an exaggerated example to try to make a point. You ignored other discussion and misconstrued his example in order to take jabs at “NewGAF”. The Smollett and Kavanaugh threads were bigger anyway, so your point is invalid and just plain ignorant. Maybe you would’ve realised that if you actually participated and weren’t just keeping your account open to cast aspersions and sow discord when it gets too busy for your liking.
Yes, this thread has moved quickly, but there have been a lot of new people who signed up or returned just to post in it. It’s also the first major drama thread since E3, which had significantly boosted the user count prior to this thread being posted. GAF is on the up whether you like it or not.
