Here you can have an opinion of your own, you just may need to explain it sometimes.
The more I think about it, the most dangerous thing about Resetera is the hypocrisy. It (being a cult as I have stated many a time, and not a cool bring the stars into alignment cult...just a cliche brainwashing cult) trains people to close their minds and hate. They are a hate group and should be treated as such.
You can see it daily in post after post.
They do not want to change the world for the better. That requires understanding and communication and Era immediately silences any open thought that opposes its hive mind.
From politics to social issues, it is our way or die. Quite literally as the only death threats you can make freely on Era are against those they are opposed to as a whole.
Nothing is ever good enough, people are not allowed to learn from experience or grow.
Yet the sheep stay. So damned desperate for communication and acceptance that they cower every time they hit the reply button not knowing if it will rub someone the wrong way.
Here there are some assholes, even a few low lifes but mostly it is just people who want to talk about cool shit and do not judge others unless someone says something stupid.
There is a reason that Era demonizes Gaf as much as it does, because there is a home here and honestly yes even a safe space for anyone who just wants to bullshit about video games or movies or anything else out there.
I do hope more and more start to see this.

Resetera is a 21st century Jonestown. Jim Jones preached socialism and progressive ideology. Then he moved his followers to a safe place, where people from all walks of life could live in a utopia, far away from the evil of capitalism, end of times, Evilore, etc. Then as we see with the staff and protected memembers at Resetera, he became paranoid, a control freak and resented/threw out any that doubted him. Resentment grew among the ranks. Loyalties became divided. There were no Summits, just Flavor Aid and Cyanide based on manipulating the members over the years that the government was out to get them and take away their children.
If you research Jim Jones youth he would have fit right in. A loaner growing up. Killed animals then had funerals for them. Obviously the early signs of becoming a furry and/or serial killer.

I'm so glad I actually never got accepted as a member there. Those political threads, heck, even certain gaming threads, are always derailed with someone crying about transphobia or racism. As a mixed raced gay guy I'd lose my patience with those whiners almost immediately unless I managed to avoid those posts, which would be hard. Even beyond this entire topic, I've noticed anyone there who makes even the tiniest donation has to advertise it and crow about it for multiple posts. I've seen people make posts about $5 and $10 donations, while claiming it's "all they can afford". Gets double virtue points, for donating, as well as claiming they're in poverty.
But don't be surprised if you see the same posters in another thread whining about not getting optimal settings on their new $5K LG CX 77".
Also, if you think CDPR is a piece of shit company, then you're a piece of shit for playing and enjoying their game, regardless of whether you paid them or not. Can't have it both ways. It's laughable how many there come up with all these convoluted justifications about how they plan on playing the game, but how CDPR won't benefit, therefore absolving themselves of all guilt.
