Just checked, and apparently the lead composer for RE5 did compose for 6, but I think he wasn't lead and it was probably at a reduced role. Either way, disappointing.

As for Piers,
I was already sitting with my mouth open when he got his whole arm cut off :(. Poor Piers.

Edit: I did forget that one. Great theme. I did say the rest are great too, and I meant it.

Played some of Chris and now some of Leon. I have to say Chris's campaign feels like some D grade team designed it. Graphically its all pretty damn good, but with Chris the gameplay is just staggeringly bad.

Go here, hold your position, wave of enemies, go here, hold your position, wave of enemies. Defeat the same boss about 3 times. Feels like the team that did his really wanted to stretch their assets to the maximum. Not to mention going gun to gun against an enemy is pretty damn boring.

Leon however feels more game-y. I'm so far liking it more, it gets to the point faster storywise too. Plus i've been playing with some randoms online, its pretty cool when they show me the way to one of those blue medallions.

Right now, I'm disappointed. Its fun for sure at some parts. But others feel like they need a few more months of polish and editing. Chris's camera is pretty much from hell. I'm always adjusting the speed for his campaign. Leon has more outdoors-y stuff so it isn't that much of a nuisance.

Ada's being ruined by overexposure. When she reappeared in Resident Evil 4 after having been gone so long, it was like, WOW. So awesome. And she was on camera for never more than like 20 seconds. Now she's got way too big of a role. She needs to show up, say something that makes no sense, and vanish via exploding sunglasses in every scene.

I dunno man, it's been nearly 7 years since RE4. And it's not like they didn't give her her own campaign in RE4 too.

Lol too big a role? She still barely appears in the campaigns. She pretty much cameos in every campaign except Leon's. And it's not like she's still around that much. Given the plot, it makes a lot of sense for her to appear more.

I'm playing on Pro as Piers. Field Medic Level 2 is an amazing perk. Seriously, every time you enter the dying state you get 3 health blocks back if the AI revives you, which is half your health. I no longer bother using my herbs and just save them for boss fights.

Just beat Chapter 2 and will move on to Chapter 3. This is my second time through Chris' campaign and I'm really enjoying it as much as I did the first time, although I'm not looking forward to fighting the (Chris 3 spoiler)
helicopter twice.
If it starts to bug me I may just buy the infinite grenade launcher skill and just blast that thing to kingdom come.

BTW I still have an open slot if anyone wants to join, GT is in my profile.

Lol ammo is not the issue with either of those fights.

Echoes near enough my feelings. Leons campaign as a whole was a lot more pleasant an experience than the other two.Which is a shame since I liked Jake and Sherrys relationhsip quite a bit, as well as Chris and Piers.

But, too many dragged on boss fights, too many fucking mutations and J'avo, and too many mini sequences (bike chase, car chase...you name it.).

Leons first chapter is my favourite.

I wish Mercenaries unlocked stuff for the campaign. Other than personal satisfaction, costumes and additional Mercenaries characters, I have no incentive to score an S with everyone. I'm still doing it, but it doesn't feel that satisfying. RE4 Mercenaries unlocked the fucking Handcannon. I want a weapon like that for the campaign.

Okay, those are true.

But multiple ways to beat? I definitely need elaboration on that, now that's one thing I definitely do not see.
a couple of those fights had easier ways to defeat the boss other than standing and blasting bullets such as for the helicopter fight you can climb up the rope to the helicopter and take care of the guy or in simmons fight you could end the boss fight quickly if you grabbed the lightning rod and plunged it in his head. There are other cases that I can't remember at the top of my head.

Yeah the boss fights aren't very good in this game. Like I've said before, it's hard to tell whether you have to actually damage them or just wait for the next scripted event for most of them. In the
Deborah fight, do you have to actually shoot her when she's on the mine cart with you or do you just wait till she leaves?
In the 4th campaign, when you're
fighting the chainsaw guy on the trolley
, you wouldn't have known you didn't have to shoot him at all unless you had already fought him before. If it's your first time, you'll probably waste ammo. During the
Simmons fight in Leon's 4th chapter, do you shoot him when he's running next to the train or do you just wait till he rips off all of the train's sides and for the next scene to occur?
There were many points in the game where I felt like I was wasting ammo because of all these boss "phases."
I forgot about those parts which is a good point because that's poor design. Those were annoying. I think you're overstating it though. I think it only happened once in Leon Ch 2, Jake ch 4 and Chris Ch 3. As another person pointed a lot of those scenarios don't happen until the boss takes a certain amount of damage.

I also agree with the lack of enemy reaction from damage.
I had a feeling that was the case. I was doing it on Pro and thought to myself "I have a feeling I don't actually have to shoot her." Another example I just thought of was in the very first part of the
tiger Simmons battle in Ada's campaign. I wasted so much ammo shooting him only to realize in my Pro playthrough that you just had to wait for Leon to climb up the rope so the fight can automatically move on.
That annoyed the hell out of me.
it wasn't useless as he needs to take a lot of damage to go into his next phase. Your ammo didn't get wasted.

Really?
I fought him with someone online and I shot him a LOT. I was starting to wonder why it wouldn't move on and I figured it was because the guy using Leon was taking forever to climb the rope. When I died and tried it again with the A.I. I barely shot Simmons and the fight moved.

She's
Solid Snake from Sons of Liberty, or a poor attempt at that. Helping everyone out and actually directing the player.
She's just annoying, I hated her attitude throughout RE6. It was too much.

I just replayed Chris 1+2 and Jake 1+2 looking for emblems. Chris 1+2 really improved in my eyes this time around: both are visually gorgeous and play really well once you've learned the mechanics, which by this point I have. Cool creature encounters, infrequent QTEs and a great sense of progression as your team slowly works their way across the battlefield.

Jake 1+2, however, still irked me with some of their design choices, namely more moments where the camera is ripped away from you to direct your attention elsewhere. But the worse offender is the nauseating missile flashes from the helicopter in Jake 1 (brief as that scene is) and the low visibility of the nighttime snowstorm in Jake 2. The latter was easier when I simply followed the minimap and ran past enemies, and the atmosphere is nice, but the limited visibility is really unnecessary. Fortunately the latter two-thirds of the Jake 2 are pure FUN, and they're followed by Jake 3, one of the best chapters in the game.

I've yet to play Leon's final chapter. I might do that tonight. I'm bracing myself for it, since for some people it appears to be the point where the campaign gets dragged down. The first four chapters were great, so I'll go in guarded! I loved the Leon 4 boss fight, so I'm looking forward to fighting a billion more forms of this fellow!

I have to say, though, that at the moment Chris's campaign is probably my favorite of the lot. Fantastic final boss and final level, amazing Chapter 3 boss with
the giant invisible snake
, I actually liked the Jeep and Harrier sequences, lots of cool fights with the Neo-Umbrella troopers, the most atmospheric and nervewracking Rasklapanje encounters, and surprisingly emotional character developments and drama, with what may be the most memorable ending in the series.

I'm on Ada's campaign now and I have to say, it's very good! I hated RE 6 after Chris' campaign but after Jake and now Ada's campaign, it's totally REdeemed itself Ada's campaign brings everything together and it presents gameplay elements you don't see in the other campaigns.

RE6 is a fantastic package overall. If they made Chris' sections less repetative and more sections like Chapter 4, the entire game would be incredible. But regardless, you still have to remember that this game is essentially 4 complete campaigns and I'll take 3 good campaigns out of 4. I can appreciate what Capcom has done with this game overall. Kuds.

Just beat Chris Chapter 3 on Professional. That wasn't as hard as I thought it would be, and the
helicopter
fights I actually beat on my first try. If you guys want to play Professional solo, I highly recommend Field Medic Lv. 2 as a perk. I set my partner to "follow" and I literally just stood my ground firing at it in the open. Every time I entered the dying state, my partner immediately rezzed me and gave me half my health back, so there was no need for me to worry about dying. It really makes the game super easy.

I'm putting the game down now since I have to play through Chris 4 next, which is my least favorite chapter in his campaign. Ugh, I hate the shooting gallery in the first section, and I especially hate the damn Raskaplanje. The second half is pretty cool though.

This game is so much more enjoyable once you know the mechanic and how certain encounter works. I was surprised when I found out that I beat Ada's 1st chapter only in 44 minutes on Pro whereas previously it took me about 1h20m to do it on normal. And I was looking for emblems while doing it on Pro! Mind you, all of the skill upgrades definitely helped towards it. But there are certainly areas like Leon's
Cathedral frontyard
where the extra skills won't help much and you really need to use all of the moves and dodges effectively.

I've been playing pro following Dusk Golem's chronological order. Something I noticed when playing through Leon's first chapter was a lot of the tactics that are persistent throughout Mercenaries and the rest of the campaigns, simply don't work. If you get too close to the zombies they will jump you far more readily, the headshot stun state doesn't appear to work, one kick will put enemies in the spun around stun state, and the grappling QTEs are harder. There are also a lot of one off cinematic melee moments, like where a zombie gets it's axe stuck in a door frame after a swing. Nothing plays consistently and you really have to be more standoffish and play like an older RE title.

Everything goes back to normal in the 2nd chapter
(once you get to the church)
, but I replayed a little on normal just to test this and the same stuff was happening. It all seems intentional to give that zombie siege vibe, and is just another way in which the game seems intent on obscuring it's mechanics from first time players. No wonder people are having trouble coming to grips with things. I've become so accustomed to the camera it doesn't even bother me, and I actually rank this game pretty highly now. I'm very interesested to see what little details change with the upcoming title update.

Finally beat this during the weekend. Played the three campaigns in splitscreen and the last campaign alone (since my friend who bought the game didn't want to play it).

Overall we didn't enjoy it much. What really disappointed us was all the stupid sudden death events in the game and the lack of indication of what you have do to in coop. I suppose the game is easier with an AI partner since the AI actually knows what to do.

So many scenes in this game brought back the awful memories of RE5 final boss in coop. The final fight with Wesker in 5 is dreadful in coop since you have no indication of what you have do to and you die again and again. In this game this happens way too often for my taste.

We didn't enjoy the chase sequences either and there are so many of them. The camera in these scenes is all over the place and like this only to make you fail on purpose. In splitscreen we also experienced some glitches where one of the screen wouldn't show the right camera view/angle and we would die because of that. Oh and outside of Chris' chapter 4, I found all of the vehicles events to be really clunky and cheap.

We enjoyed the crossovers and it's pretty cool that you can actually play with someone online while in splitscreen mode. I really don't mind the over the top action and I think the cutscenes and events were fairly cool but we didn't have much fun playing the game because of all the issues above.

I also think the new skill system isn't as interesting as the upgrade system in 4 and 5. We were able to max out like 2 skills to level 3 during the whole game (Firearms and damage reduction) and as such you rarely feel like we where progressing at all.

There was also some brightness issue with the game on our side (PS3). We adjusted tried to adjust the brightness both in the game and via the TV menu and often we could barely see anything in the environment. It's pretty strange that we were still seeing the logo during the brightness configuration in the game and that you can't see shit in the game. The french dub of the game is quite funny too. It seems the voices were recorded at a very low volume and without the actors seeing what was going on in the game when the lines where meant to be read. The tone of the lines were often wrong.

I do believe the game is good looking most of the time. Outside of weird textures on weapons during cutscenes and low resolution texture on random objects the game looks really nice.

Some events are also pretty weird in coop like playing as Helena in Leon's Chapter 5. For some reason you are stucked in some hallway far away from the boss and you have to wait for that same zombie to respawn every 5 minutes to drop sniper ammo so you can help your partner on the ground.

After beating the game my friend went to trade it back so he could get most of his investment back. It's something because he's a huge trophies whore and got all of them in 5 and here he said he wouldn't be able to go through the game again and again.

I can definitely see why some people loved it but I can also see why some folks despised it with a passion.

I definitely won't be there for part 7 if they don't tone down the dumb sudden deaths/QTE/Chases/Vehicle sequences. Overall it would be pretty challenging for me to actually find chapters I liked. It's definitely my least liked RE game so far and one of my biggest disappointment gaming wise this year so far.

Do they show stuff that got cut and stuff? I always find that to be the most interesting stuff.

These books were released at around the same time as Resident Evil 4, I think. There's no Resident Evil 6 material in them.

I saw a Visual graphic Book or something on Play Asia but not sure if that's an artbook or just a walkthrough guide. Almost grabbed it as the Biohazard 5 Art Book was fantastic.

Did anyone in Europe pick up one of the Collector's Editions and take pictures?

About to order mine from Amazon France, but would love to check some pics out first.

Less than ideal but I've taken a few quick shots with my GS3. Uploading now, will tweet you when done.

These things should be removed altogether IMO. The vehicle sequences in particular were painful/sleep inducing the first time, on repeat play they become almost unbearable. I'm sure the idea is for these set pieces to act as a palate cleanser, but they just make me want to stop playing. More focus on creating varied encounters using the core combat mechanics would be the way to go.

OH right, that boss. Yeah I was actually confused at first, then I noticed the tanks in the back. It was a fun encounter overall, though wish there would have been more of an actual fight.

I said before, but RE6 boss fights really can't compare to most of RE5. I'm using RE5 because RE4 is obviously out of the question, but RE5 had some really great boss fights. Nothing in this game can compare to
Wesker+Jill, Jill, any Wesker fight, and a lot of the others.

Why is RE4 out of the question?

Btw, do anyone got avatar safe fanart for Jill and RE6 Sherry that's not from Eroquis or Sawao? Its getting hard to find. :(

I have have had two major bullshit glitches happen to me today while playing this. The first was having all my weapons stripped from me when I loaded up the game today and the second was having a disconnect happen at the end level stat screen resulting in me not getting the trophy for that chapter. Bullshit!

That's funny, I really enjoyed all the vehicle sequences. To each his own I suppose, but I did like that they were low stress alternative gameplay sequences where you could just turn your brain off and enjoy the spectacle.

Started playing it for the second time but on co-op with Agent Hunt on.

Man, the cemetery part was so awesome, I already liked it on my first playthrough, but it was just so much better. I'm having a blast with this game, one of my favorite games this year for sure.

Because they are way better so it's not fair to compare them to RE6. IMO. They're all fun though.

Also you can tell the game needed more polish. There's a lot of clipping, most notably one of Helena's arms going through her huge knockers LOL. Also today in Leon 1 there was one part where a guy was driving a car but the car didn't appear haha.

That extra month would have helped, Capcom should have kept the 11/20 release date. I guess they wanted to release before the bigger onslaught?

I think Noi (?) also posted a strategize to farm something like 20k skill points per ~7 minutes, but I can't remember the details and I don't feel like searching for it lol

That's the same strategy I have, haha. Text version of that video:

So I suck at mercs, so I'm running a setup here to farm skill points on Chris 5.
Start as Chris, throw Piers over the gap, make a beeline for the elevator, pickup Piers, go straight for the lever room with the timer, kill all of the enemies that spawn from the chrysalids, move to the HAOS room, quit out.
Takes about 7 minutes for ~20k skillpoints. Anyone got something better?

I noticed that arm clipping back when the first gameplay footage was released; I don't think they wanted to change that since they had way more than enough time to deal with it. You don't really notice it most of the time when you're playing as Helena anyway.

I personally haven't noticed many glitches, and with the exception of some terrible low-res textures I think the game is pretty polished. Well that and the retarded shadows. Seriously, the shadows in this game are pretty awful, at least on 360.

I've put 35 hours into this game and counting, so it's definitely doing something right. I just wish they would release a patch that allows you to use costumes in the campaign and I will probably play through it another 3 times or so.

Oh I didn't have any glitches, and it is still pretty polished. But still, that stuff is there. And yes, I NEED those costumes in campaign, mainly Samurai Chris. Also make the sword a weapon!
