Reminder to future self: Don't buy RE VIII at launch.

I don't regret buying the game, I had a great time playing it and talking about it at release.

I sure as shit regret buying the season pass though.

This is great news! I wasn't sure if either DLC would launch this year, so knowing they're both coming in December is awesome! I know RE7 is a somewhat divisive game, but I loved it, and I can't wait to get more of it. Also, I figured either/both of these DLC's would be shown off at TGS, and while Capcom still might feature them there, I can't but feel like they might have revealed these now because they have a big reveal for TGS...
Please be REmake 2...

DBZ Hulk Chris would have never made sense with the realistic art direction. Not to mention, now he looks way more like RE1-CVX.

RE6 Chris would fit totally fine in 7 imo,his muscles are toned down but they ruined it with the haircut.

So I guess if a game has been out eight months, spoiling the game through the cover is perfectly fine then?

Don't get me wrong, it is great that RE7 is getting a "gold version" with even more content stacked on top and the image of Eveline is creepy for sure and sets the tone well on the cover. But wouldn't that take away a bit of the unknown in RE7 for those playing for the first time if you were to show them Eveline as if to say, "All the bad things happening in this game? It is this girl's fault!" rather than making us believe that it would be the Baker Family that would likely serve as the bad guys from start to finish?

Probably overthinking it a touch...

Isn't it the best reviewed RE since RE4?

Sure, but many RE fans seem much more divided on the game. A lot of people wanted a new action RE game, a lot of people wanted fixed camera classic RE, and some just really disliked first-person in general. There's also the reception of the story, and the new cast of characters, which was also very mixed. I loved the game though, and it's probably the only game this year I've beaten multiple times. I would still prefer a third-person perspective, and Classic characters (that aren't unbelievably ugly, unrecognizable renditions of themselves...), but this game was awesome. A lot of people don't seem to feel that way though, and the game didn't sell very well either, or meet Capcom's expectations for it.

You're doing more to spoil it than the cover does.

Looking at the cover all you'll think is "Who's that?" going into the game.

If I listened to the internet then Skyrim and Persona 5 are very divisive games too. Just making an actual survival horror game, ensured that it would sell less than RE6.

Yay for VR support on the new content. I was upset that some of the other DLC didn't support VR, even if they mostly seemed like fluff. It made me worry that the meaty stuff would get overlooked for PSVR.

Thank god it hasn't. RE7 is the main reason I got the PSVR headset in the first place, and I have zero regrets about playing that whole game in VR. More is definitely overdue.

This Is getting pretty out of hand now. I mean, after buying games on launch and then getting butt fucked by GOTY editions a year later during PS3/360 Gen, we moved to a new point where we had the definitive editions which was the same game with updated graphics and all(or most of the content). Now we're at a point where companies aren't even waiting at least 8 months and re-releasing it. Like WTF!?
Wait for super turbo gold/komplete/definitive/GOTY edition of this?

They're releasing it in December, RE7 came out in January.

That's a standard release time-frame for a 'Complete Edition'. It adds the cost of the DLC to a base game that would have been heavily discounted over the year to create a full-price retail title.

I'm really bummed out that neither of the new DLC chapters will launch before Halloween as I had been looking forward to adding Resi VII back to my let's play list for it. When they delayed Not a Hero I still held some hope it would go up on time but alas.

That said, it is great to see more content released for this game overall and this new complete package should hopefully convince more people to pick it up.

I thought most people who played the game liked it, myself included, and I was down on the game after it was revealed to be strictly first person.

I did think it would have a bigger twitch/let's play presence though with the return to more horror and that probably could have helped its sales. I think more streamers might have played the demo more because of the supposed secrets it had than the actual game.

If I listened to the internet then Skyrim and Persona 5 are very divisive games too. Just making an actual survival horror game, ensured that it would sell less than RE6.
Persona 5 is awesome, don't listen to the internet lol.

Resident Evil 7 got an update today, did anyone see if they changed the post-game screen talking about Not A Hero coming out in Spring 2017? lol

I'm ready for more DLC--one of my favorite games this year easily. I'm more excited for the Zoe DLC if it's more horror based. Should be a good fall season with this and Evil Within 2

Knew this was coming and could've held out for it, but instead sprung for the PSVR and RE7 back in May.

No regrets whatsoever. This game is the Super Mario 64 of VR. It's not just the killer app for a platform, it's the killer app for a new way of experiencing games. And I say that as someone who's been going through the Vive / SteamVR catalogue as well.

Even without the VR, the meticulous level and encounter design is something I didn't know Capcom still had in them.

Despite Nier: Automata even existing being a miracle, let alone doing well commercially, I think the biggest gaming miracle of 2017 was definitely RE7. BotW and Horizon turned out excellent, sure, but they always looked like they were going to be good pre-release. RE7 on the other hand pretty much blindsided everybody. It was like this year's DOOM.
