Why does this movie have to be connected with Biohazard 4?
I might be set in a different time-frame and just the characters derive directly from the Biohazard world....

is this from the new Sony Picture CG division (Sony Pictures Animation aka Open season / Monster House ) or another one ?

anyway based on these screens i think ROBOT Communications ( onimusha 2/3 intro guys ) can do better job than Sony Picture here .

ROBOT did a 3 minute intro. And that 3 minute intro made Onimusha 3 a massive cash-sink.

I'm thinking this movie is going to be longer than 3 minutes.

Yes.
The story is retarded and thus I don't want it to be another retarded sequel/prequel to any game (with the form of a CG movie).
I want them to try something new story-wise and coinstantaneously to use Biohazard series' beloved characters/monsters.

I'm intrigued by your suggestion that Capcom would fare any better with a movie than with their games at making Resident Evil non-retarded. At this point, Capcom doesn't care, and there's no reason for them to.

Why on earth would Capcom need to point out when it took place or mention Raccoon City if it was a parallel universe? Raccoon City took place in this universe, ergo it's the same universe. and including 2 RE characters just seals the deal.

These screens made me think it was a remake of number 2 on the psp (since i think they were thinking of making a resident evil game for the psp)

Then noticing and remembering there was this 3D animated film planned, but i dont mind if its true to the games

Since its announcement, we have indirect implications about its potential "sucking" such as "AC looks far better than this", "It looks good for a Wii game...", "Robot can do better CG than SPEJ....", etc.....

This is only gonna work well if the story does actually tie into the games(or if not then the films) as if it is a stand alone story whats the point?

Are you serious? It's set a year after RE4 AND there's a clear shot of Leon whose model looks close to his RE4 one. They mention 7 years since Raccoon City, meaning RE1, 2, and 3 are at least involved as a backdrop. There's a good chance Code Veronica will be involved as backstory as well since we know Claire sent a message out to Leon in that game, and this is the first time we've seen them reunited since.

And after all that RE4 WOULDN'T be connected? Why wouldn't this fall right afterwards in the timeline?

RE4 was their attempt to try something new, we got crap, luckily Wesker and Ada were there to save the whole storyline. Hopefully this continues to provide clues as too what RE5 is about, maybe this has to do with Sherry and where she has been, who knows.

What do you have in mind for a "new" storyline, Leon and Claire in a romantic comedy or something. They are going to fight monsters, thats RE, thats what you are going to get.

If it'll be released into theatres in North America, I'd guess it'll be a limited release.

Also, I hope they use as much of the previous voice overs of the characters from the game as possible.

By the way, anyone heard of the 1/6th scale statue being released next year? They're limited to 1500 pieces each and they cost a lot but they're gonna be pretty cool! I already got one of the old ones, the Marvin Branagh statue so I might pop in some cash for the Wesker, Chris and Nemesis ones.

That's what I thought as well.

It's almost like "7 miles from 1998." Great -- if this is a sign of things to come, I'm not sure I'm going to enjoy this party as much as I'd like because I really dig the old Resident Evil lore. Let's hope this exciting idea isn't marred exclusively by localization issues.
