Resident Evil Gold Edition includes the base game with 3 major new features:

・Third Person Mode allows you to play the main story mode from a new perspective.
・The Mercenaries Additional Orders introduces new playable characters and stages.

Noticed that they were very specific about 3rd person being added only to Story. Reckon Mercenaries will be an exclusively first person crapshoot. Hopefully, third person can be purchased separately to make this game finally worth playing.

RE8 Mercenaries mode is absolutely terrible. Thought maybe it would be better in 3rd person mode, but looks like it's story only feature.

It's dumb, but this has been a Capcom standard since 1992.

At this point if anyone's mad at a new gold or ultra edition still containing exclusive features, you have only yourself and your fomo to blame.
