Well, guys, I pulled trigger on a Framemeister. I've been selling a bunch of old parts from my garage to fund it.

Just a note to everyone considering one of these, I was going to use paypal to pay for it, but they wanted to give me a terrible exchange rate from Yen to USD. This was going to make my price $375 (I ordered a d sub cable) instead of $365.

I have an account with capital one 360, who charges no fees at all. I asked them what exchange rate they would give me, and they told me to go to mastercard.com. There was an exchange rate calculator, where I found out I would get the going rate, no extra fees.

ANYWAY, all of this is to tell you, send your money out of paypal and save $10.

Finally, does anyone now want my old CRT? I'm in the northern virginia area.

I have a few CRTs I like to have hooked up - both 14 and 20 PVMs, a 27 Samsung 4:3 HDCRT that I like 480p on, and I just got a freebie Sony KV-20FS120... that consumer Sony looks really great!! Just want to once again encourage anyone that isn't finding pro-monitor success that there are amazing sets out there that are probably at a local thrift shop for cheapo.

I do have a component switch/amp/weird thing that has 3 inputs and 3 outputs so I have things hooked up to the same systems at the same time, besides the PVM chaining - it's interesting to see the couple frames of lag on the HD CRT in real time.

One issue I have with PayPal is how frickin' long it takes to take money out of it and in to my bank account.

I just purchased some speakers from Denmark and I had no qualms with the exchange rate that was used. I did get dinged a foreign currency fee from my bank, but PayPal didn't use any out of this world exchange when I compared it.

Enjoy your Framemeister!

Yes, I agree. It took me 4 days I think to send money into paypal from my bank. The only positive, is they offer an instant transfer to a debit card for 25 cents USD. I did this, since I was still saving $9.75 USD overall. It did work instantly, which was nice.

The exchange rate yesterday on xe.com was $1 to 113Y, and paypal was giving me $1 - 104Y.

Hey guys, so if shit hits the fan, any other places you recommend we reconvene our retro discussions? Would hate to lose touch with some of the folks here and lots of valuable insight. Feel free to PM if that's easier.

Guys, if I do not respond to your PM's it's due to the new 10 minute time limit rules. I will get you today or tomorrow at the latest. Keep checking back for your pms and don't get banned yet.

Where did you see this information?

I've seen the list. Whoever followed the ResetERA Twitter has been put on a list with other accounts that used the same name. It has your Twitter, Instagram, socials and even porn sites. No passwords or anything though.

Someone made a Retro AV thread with an updated OP over at Slaent just in case, but I'm having a hard enough time figuring out how Slaent works.

Also looking for an invite to the discord. I sent a PM, didn't hear back.

Anyone been playing any retro games during the "break"? I got my framemeister in the mail today.

Is anyone sticking around that posts regularly in this thread?

On another note, game-tech.us has around 80 Ultra HDMI kits still available for preorder for the next batch.

Thanks to this thread and its predecessor, i fell down the rabbit hole of expensive rgb-cables, a Framemeister and even a $200 scart switcher. My wallet hates you guys - but it was an awesome ride!

I just got my OSSC in I bought from another user here. Before I had got it in I went on Monoprice and bought a DVI to HDMI converter with a built in audio input. I put this thing up and figured out I have a special HDMI input on my tv I can use with a standard 3.5mm jack. Welp I wasted money. Also I am having issues getting my Turbo-Grafx 16 to work with the OSSC. I am using a Chinese RGB booster I got off eBay. Anyone have any suggestions on how to get this to sync?
