$40 for 18 tracks is very high.

I'm guessing that this disc works without the install code if you are willing to swap discs. Wal-Mart would not want to ignore the 40-50% of gamers that do not go online.

Anyone else having the issue where they DL either the album or a single song and it's stuck at 1% and doesn't DL? I just want to play Under The Bridge. :(

Quite a lot of people are having the problem on the RB.com's forums. How about on GAF?

Same here. Stuck at 1%.

The 1% thing didn't even happen to me. It just disappeared from active downloads and I thought it was done. hmm

Restarted it now and I'm up to 20% after 5 minutes.

SarcasticGamer (a site I enjoy every so often) did a review for the new guitar (other than comments I read through this thread, I haven't read many reviews, luckily, my cousin bought one so I got to play with it.. but in case you haven't.. here is a review of sorts. Instead of the copy and pasta the whole thing I know the proper etiquette is to quote random parts of the article.. so enjoy what I pick for you to read:

The Comfort and Feel Dept

Winner: RB2
The Strum Bar

Winner: RB2
Fret Buttons

Winner: GHIII
Extras

Winner: Both. Each guitar has its own set of extras that help it rise above the rest.

I personally find the fact that the GH3 guitar having a removable neck as a NEGATIVE. I've had 3 guitars start to lose their connection due to the necks being loose. (2 GH3 controllers and 1 GH Aerosmith controller) And I never take them apart, it's just a design flaw. I think the GH3 guitar is nearly perfection for these kinds of games, and the loose neck and note drops from bad connections are the main thing holding it back IMO.

Lots of us do :(
I've tried cancelling the download and re-downloading. I've tried restarting the xbox. I've tried DLing through the marketplace, as well as the RB Music Store. Nothing :(

I dunno if this was mentioned but the ACDC press release says nothing about the game disc being exclusive to Wal-Mart, only their new album.

I'm in complete agreement with you. I think they initially intended it to be like the MPAA ratings. But those are enforced, whereas the ESRB and the "parental advisory" stuff on albums isn't strictly enforced. At this point, it's more of just a "guideline" and kids can still buy Halo and GTAIV and the like with little to no problems, with or without consent from an adult.
They scanned my driver's licence when I bought DMC4 last week. no joke.

All depends on where you buy your games from. Some places enforce it, and some don't. I wouldn't have a problem with it if it was strictly enforced. Then you wouldn't have 10 year-olds talking shit while you're trying to have a nice mature session of GTAIV on Live.

Quick question: I don't have RB2 yet. When I play with my friends and they're on Easy while I'm on Expert, will my scroll speed be stuck on Easy too? Or did they fix that? Thanks in advance.

While I'm a fan of some of their songs, I'm not willing to pay $40 for that disc. Fuck that. And as for RHCP, I was going to download the album but now I'm just pissed about the censoring.

i remember when i bought cod4, they asked my for my license. so i said okay, and showed him my license in my wallet.
then he goes "no i need it out".

then i watch him scan it. i stand there saying "holy shit mind blown!"
i walk away with cod4 and whatnot.

now that i think about it what a bad story

Just tried DLing my BSSM songs again (Under The Bridge & Suck My Kiss). Still stuck at 1% and now I get a pop up saying 'Can't Download...... ____'. I'm getting kinda pissed off here. Any word from Harmonix about the situation?

Don't think this is Harmonix's ball...seems to be happening with a bunch of Live content (demos, videos, etc).

The GH3 Les Paul versus the RB2 Strat?
They couldn't get ahold of the GHWT Generi-caster? :lol :lol :lol

What's next?

Is it possible to delete/disable certain songs if you buy an album as a pack? I'm looking to get rid of Behind Blue Eyes from The Who pack and there is a song or two on BSSM that I won't want to play if I end up buying the whole album.

Yeah. That's what I've been saying for a while.

But remember. They're owned by MTV who fucking censored H*** Pipe.

You can only delete by DLC, so if you got the album, you got the album. Hell, on the PS3 you can't delete SHIT.

Harmonix do nothing but lie. I mean, really. Wii DLC is impossible!
Perhaps they do it because the UK would never be able to get the uncensored songs since the rules there are different.

But they don't care about the UK anyway...

They are liars.

M-rated DLC wouldn't make the game M-rated.

I was trying to find this link and it was given to me a little while ago.

This is sorta true, and we talked about it a little at the start of the year.

The summary is: We've been told by the ESRB that if we want to release M-rated DLC, we have to re-rate the original disc as an M-rated title. Having said that, the decision is something that's bigger than the ESRB - even if we could do it, we'd still need to think about whether we wanted to do it.
CptUnderpant is Dan Teasdale, the lead designer of RB2 in case you didn't know.

Also, Npeaen has his BSSM DLC videos up, Breaking the Girl and Under the Bridge are glorious.

But people are also saying the British rating system would change the rating. I'm not happy with the censorship but I don't blame them for not wanting to spend the resources catering specifically to every market (and then dealing with different complaints of "unfair").

It will likely drive me to only buying certain songs instead of the album, though.

Of course, if your band has a vocalist, all this talk of censorship is moot.

I've run into a number of singers online who bitch about the dropped words in Master Exploder and it cracks me up. It's as if they've forgotten that they're holding the damn microphone.

Things would be a lot simpler if they never bothered to ship RB to Europe. We sacrifice uncensored lyrics just so they can play yet all I hear are complaints from them...

I just realized.

RHCP's album is $19.99 for 16 songs.
AC/DC's album is $39.99 for 18 songs.

I'll wait until I get it on clearance, OR just get the code... somehow...

Fedex delayed my drum rocker order AGAIN. Now it's coming in tomorrow and still sitting in some fucking town 2 hours away from my location doing nothing.

In other news FF_VIII wasn't permabanned...yay!

And one of those is a repeat

The code is for enabling the export feature, not for downloading the songs off a server.

You know, what if they allow you to fork out $5 to use the export feature if you don't input the code?

I'm trying to buy 1600 points from Zune Marketplace because I refuse to spend $30 today to get 2000.

I'm in Canada, but it's giving me US point prices (using my regular Live account) and won't let me complete the transaction. The software knows I'm in Canada too :/

Little help/insight?

At least you can be pretty assured that it eventually will drop in price.
Ypu know most countries don't care that much about swearing.
But when they do care they go completely overboard and either effectively or literally ban sales.

Thumb up or down for "The Best of The Who"?

Yeah, thumbs the hell up. Probably the best overall pack available for download right now. (Moving Pictures and the Boston pack are very close though).
