Rockman/Mega Man 25th Anniversary Thread

Wow, what condescending drivel. What kind of PR person SAYS something like this? "Please try not to jump the gun and think we might actually do something exciting for a change and that we are going to stop being crappy all of a sudden!" Isn't this more like anti-PR or something?

Just early DC, cause everything Mega Man related gets spun out of control.

I think #17 was released on September 12, the next one will be out on October 10 according to some online stores.

Oh yeah I got it recently but I do my comic book reading on Fridays.

I just noticed that the Legends series games aren't on PSN, so I guess we could expect the PSX and PS2 games (sans 7 =P) on PSN by the end of the year.
I personally would like an HD collection of 8 and Command Mission >_>;

Supposedly the reason why MML1 and 2 weren't on the US PSN was because the actor who played Teisel turned out to be arrested on child pornography or something like that and Capcom wanted to distance themselves from that and they didn't want to put in the effort to redub an old PS1 game that never sold particularly well (saaaaaaaad face)

Not sure how true that is, something I just heard one time. It made me incredibly sad when the US never saw a rerelease of Legends on the PSP... Then overjoyed when MML3 was announced... and now I'll never buy a Capcom game again till they fix what they've done to him... It doesn't have to be MML3, but Mega man needs some serious love before I ever contemplate getting another game of theirs again....

Also a new breath of fire would be nice <_< I miss you 90's capcom!

Are there any strong feelings about which Megaman DS games are the best?

I've dabbled in ZX and the sequel a bit but they never grabbed me......and I was reading about Battle Network or something which I know next to nothing about.....

So are any worth the time?

Battle Network was GBA (and one ported DS game that consisted of two versions of 1 GBA game.... yeah...). There was only ZX and Starforce that I'm aware of. Starforce was basically the sequel to battle network and ZX was the sequel to Z. I tried ZX but it was pukingly bad. Starforce was too much like Battle.net which I had burnt out on after the second game (of 6)

Battle Network 1-3 and 6 are all amazing and have the best endgames ever. Try those out buy avoid StarForce like the plague.

Just talking about this in the kirby 20th thread:

But Capcom had 2 Mega Man anniversary things.

True, but I personally feel that kinda like the sonic collections, MM should be dusted off and given a new collection every generation. I personally don't believe its whoring MM out, but I believe that like sonic, his greatest tales should be represented as much as possible.

Could you picture if capcom would only do a set like this for the 25th anniversary. Nothing crazy like the 150 dollar street fighter one, but let's says using shit they already had done, for example :

Megaman 1-10, the two arcade games, maybe a rom of mm soccer
Megaman X1-6, plus battle and chase
Megaman Zero 1-4

And maybe the remixed tracks, bit of artwork, that g4 Inafune interview, and the pilots for the Megaman animes series, with a nice cd/book combo like Kirby's set. (and if we're lucky 1000 achievements/platinum for beating all the games, something simple)

Let's say they call it limited edition and under 40 bucks. People would lose their fuckin minds! (I'd buy 2!)

People aren't asking for anything grand, just a little nod, instead of jack shit like metroids
