Everything Julian Castro says is a reason to vote Trump and the crowd keeps cheering him on. The Dems have a giant internal problem.

"moscow Mitch" ? Jesus.

Is Moscow Mitch supposed to be a funny joke? Its so.... lame. God they fucking suck at the memes.

I wonder who they will gift the last word? Harris or Biden? It wont be Tulsi or Yang that's for damn sure.

Dems look bad, they're all over the place. These debates had too many people involved and didn't give enough substantive answers within the allotted time. There was way too much pandering, side-stepping the questions and not enough calling out the BS. Didn't help that the moderators were pushing some of that BS.

Socialism for the rich is bailing out GM and letting them continue to run their business like idiots while cutting out lower class jobs to bleed money towards the top of a failing approach.

So yang has officially changed the name from UBI to Freedom Dividend. Except uh...

It's not free so can we have a 350 million people class action lawsuit against him for false advertising if he wins? lol.

Yeah we should just wait until things get to far gone to fix. He has vision. More so than any other candidate. I would love to see how a UBI would effect America if only for 4 years. Are you so scared of that?
No, we shouldn't wait to address real problems but Yang is fear mongering.

In the US, job openings are higher than they've been in nearly 20 years at the same time the Yang crowd has been rattling their cages about automation. Consumer confidence gone up under Pres. Trump. At some point, you can't keep telling people bad things are going to happen real soon.

Yang is pushing fake news. Automation is not a new phenomenon. And in the US, productivity isn't increasing at a rate unlike anything we've ever seen. It's actually slowing down not picking up which is the polar opposite of what we should expect in a robot apocalypse.

So, yes I'm worried about UBI because Yang isn't pushing it for a good reason. The story he's trying to tell doesn't add up. And I don't believe the US will have the productive capacity to support this particular handout regardless of what economic conditions are. Your purchasing power is just going to erode and inflate way.

Months back on his site it was UBI. A month ago I checked his site and both terms were used interchangeably.

Not sure if he's tidied up the site to pick one or the other.

Freedom Dividend sounds better.

where are the wires crossed here? do you not understand the definition of "freedom"?

the dividend gives some of the capital that has been frozen at the top back to the people. That capital provides the people the freedom to maneuver in ways they can't when they are stifled by debt. It gives them the freedom to move away from crowded cities they are forced to work in. It's not hard to understand

Freedom isn't free

You know I'm actually ok with the 1000 dollar dividend. But first give it to the middle class the 1000 bucks they earned and are made to tribute to the government (most inefficient organization ever created).

edit - America will no longer exist? Jesus.

Agree to disagree, Yang will never get the nom but its nice that he is paving the way for forward thinking young people.

I'm surprised Yang is promoting free money and fear of automation.

The guy is a Chinese dude.

You'd think he'd try to focus funds on fundamentals like families, schooling and getting high paying jobs to support yourself with a respectable career.

He keeps promoting this $1000/month thing and doesn't add to it. He just assumes if everyone gets some free cash, people just solve their own issues as if everyone is good with money and will do something good with it.

And notice how he never brings up things like inflation.

That's the prescription number for the drugs he took to be able to be on stage this long.

this is the benefit of UBI, it's extremely efficient because there's no means testing. Yes, the upper class will get it as well, but there are so few of them it won't register. It's far more costly for the government to have to determine if each and every person qualifies as "middle class" and restrict the benefit based on arbitrary credentials that will be gummed up in congress. If you complain the government is inefficient, look for the efficient solutions

I expected Harris to deliver another blow to Biden tonight, but that clearly didn't happen. I expect the polling for the top candidates won't shift all that much, the biggest gains will probably come from Williamson, Yang and Gabbard.

These debates could use a serious dose of tougher questioning, I think leaving Fox News out of it is going to hurt the Dems because the questions they'd have likely tossed at them would have made it easier for them to make a name for themselves.

Stop defending bad ideas that won't ever happen.

Also you contradict yang who argues that you could STAY in your city with UBI. Stop shilling.

You might be right. Taking money away from the government is always good but realize where that money is coming from.

Yang should switch the name from Freedom Dividend to Blu-ray dividend. Also add Blu-rays to the climate change crisis. Those lasers cause CO2, which by the way we need a ZERO CO2 plan by 2022, no more CO2 in the air, FUCK THOSE trees. We'll be corpses but we won't be corpese underwater! Yeah!

lol this debate.

hahaha "stop shilling"? from you? really?

You named yourself @Afro Republican on a gaming forum

You shill constantly, and I can see that Yang really bugs you; it's fun to watch you squirm

While I agree it won't happen, it's not a bad idea

and where am I contradicting Yang? He's specifically pointed out that the UBI will revitalize failing communities. He said so multiple times in this very debate. And even if it he hadn't, it's UBI I support, not Yang. And this is a property of UBI which you aren't refuting, you're just pretending it's the person that matters more than the policy. How delightfully empty

You think you're so smart, why not show where I'm wrong rather than capping a whole thread with 443 words worth of empty, whiny nonsense

You can't form a coherent argument beyond "UBI-Man Bad!"
