The only downside to a PC version is if my console friends with good PCs were to move to it and leave me all alone on PS4. ;_;
Raid matchmaking... I dunno. I know a ton of people want it, and I do too, a little, but I've had almost nothing but good experiences raiding with LFG sites and I'm wondering if that's because the extra barrier to entry of using one of those sites, as amall as it may be, is enough to ensure that you mostly play with people who are at least somewhat serious about playing well, and that in-game matchmaking would be a worse experience, while at the same time draining players away from LFG sites were you'd normally get much better groups.
There's no indication that Battle.net will be used for anything other than Blizzard's own games (the opposite, in fact). An internal roadmap that leaked in 2010 had "Bnet23rdParties" pencilled in for 2012, but this obviously never came to pass.
I keep hearing about 'what do you want for Destiny 2' and other fan-talk about the sequel and I don't get it: isn't Destiny like an MMO in that it will keep expanding for years and not have sequels? Maybe with the the next console generation. It seems really off that they'll split the userbase between to massive games within the same generation.
Also, I am willing to bet they won't call it '2' but use a subtitle- ala MMO style.
I don't know. I'd jump into a 'Destiny 2' because I feel I missed the boat with the current, but I don't see it happening. They spent too much time, effort and money establishing this big new IP that is MMO-ish. Seems too soon for a 'sequel' just yet. I could be wrong, though. it's just a gut feeling.
They're already telling 360 and PS3 owners to upgrade with Rise of Iron prior to Destiny 2, so they must feel any possible fragmenting will be fairly minimal.
I would also imagine that any Destiny 2 would be implemented more like a really, really, really big expansion pack than a traditional iterative sequel, but that remains to be seen, especially if they are planning on switching engines.
Hope its cross play and buy windows store and crossplay between ps4 and xbox/pc
Would be the best thing ever
EDIT: If they do launch destiny in a non secure way that would allow modding, they better leave the ps4 and xbox one versions as far away as possible...game will be hack heaven six seconds in and everything will be meaningless
And I wouldn't expect any less. Only reason it seems the first game never released on PC was because they were already dealing with both this gen and last gen, as devs used to only developing for a single platform.
It needs to come with the security necessary to survive on PC though. The Division handles far too much client-side, and suffered on PC for it.
No it doesn't. It could mean many things. It could mean there is an easy mode of the raid specifically for matchmaking. It could mean you can setup games that require a mic. It could just mean that it's almost impossible if you don't have mics on everyone. It could be done many ways but the important part is that the option exist.
Nah, if they keep the same aim assist on the controller as they would on console, there are quite a few games where controller has certain advantages over m/kb. I've been destroying at DOOM multiplayer using my elite controller. Games with long ttk and fast maneuverability have a chance of making it perfectly possible to be competitive.
