The only downside to a PC version is if my console friends with good PCs were to move to it and leave me all alone on PS4. ;_;

Raid matchmaking... I dunno. I know a ton of people want it, and I do too, a little, but I've had almost nothing but good experiences raiding with LFG sites and I'm wondering if that's because the extra barrier to entry of using one of those sites, as amall as it may be, is enough to ensure that you mostly play with people who are at least somewhat serious about playing well, and that in-game matchmaking would be a worse experience, while at the same time draining players away from LFG sites were you'd normally get much better groups.

BOOOOOOYAAAAAAAA

60 FPS CRUCIBLE INCOMING!!!!!!!!!

(They should target 60 fps on consoles without cross gen versions, Halo 5 it's leagues better at 60 fps compared to older Halo games, don't care if the original versions ps4-Xone S runs at 900p).

I know somebody that works at Activision.

And he was on a plane and then a train and saw a presentation on another person's laptop.
(No, serious mode: This is what is being internally communicated to employees.)

Vicarious Vision and High Moon will help out.
Raid matchmaking is in.
But you can transfer your Destiny 1 Character to Destiny 2? Does that character come over with its achievements, gear, light level and all that? How do you let PC players join the party?

Or will they scale back Destiny 1 players to level 1 and have their gear they got in Destiny 1 work as skins they can apply to destiny 2?

This part killed it, sorry. If this were true, they would have already flipped that switch in current Destiny by now if they felt it would make things better.

Suddenly adding matchmaking for Raids would bring a LOT of players back to Destiny right now.

I keep hearing about 'what do you want for Destiny 2' and other fan-talk about the sequel and I don't get it: isn't Destiny like an MMO in that it will keep expanding for years and not have sequels? Maybe with the the next console generation. It seems really off that they'll split the userbase between to massive games within the same generation.
Also, I am willing to bet they won't call it '2' but use a subtitle- ala MMO style.

I don't know. I'd jump into a 'Destiny 2' because I feel I missed the boat with the current, but I don't see it happening. They spent too much time, effort and money establishing this big new IP that is MMO-ish. Seems too soon for a 'sequel' just yet. I could be wrong, though. it's just a gut feeling.
They're already telling 360 and PS3 owners to upgrade with Rise of Iron prior to Destiny 2, so they must feel any possible fragmenting will be fairly minimal.

I would also imagine that any Destiny 2 would be implemented more like a really, really, really big expansion pack than a traditional iterative sequel, but that remains to be seen, especially if they are planning on switching engines.

Hope its cross play and buy windows store and crossplay between ps4 and xbox/pc

Would be the best thing ever

EDIT: If they do launch destiny in a non secure way that would allow modding, they better leave the ps4 and xbox one versions as far away as possible...game will be hack heaven six seconds in and everything will be meaningless

This part killed it, sorry. If this were true, they would have already flipped that switch in current Destiny by now if they fell it would make things better.

People who say this have never raided...you would do it once and say "fuck this" and never again

The only time i can see it working is months into the raid when everyone can do it backwards and forwards and someone would come in with no knowledge and ruin that

And I wouldn't expect any less. Only reason it seems the first game never released on PC was because they were already dealing with both this gen and last gen, as devs used to only developing for a single platform.

It needs to come with the security necessary to survive on PC though. The Division handles far too much client-side, and suffered on PC for it.

Really?

I mean, honestly, really? :p

Just make it like LFR in WoW, better than having all this content people can never access.
What is LFR? Also, I'd rather have better content than content that is diluted for everyone.

They could just make it an option similar to how they let you choose Normal or Hard difficties for Nightfalls/Raids.
Unless they make 2 different raids, I don't understand how they will accommodate for matchmaking. People can barely comprehend how burns work in heroic strikes. Also, no one ever uses mics.

It would be suuuuuuuuper cool if you could cross-buy between PC and console platforms. I don't know how much sense that makes from a third-party perspective but damn it would be cool.

Raid matchmaking means communication is not required which means it's dumbed down and not really a raid in the destiny 1 sense.
No it doesn't. It could mean many things. It could mean there is an easy mode of the raid specifically for matchmaking. It could mean you can setup games that require a mic. It could just mean that it's almost impossible if you don't have mics on everyone. It could be done many ways but the important part is that the option exist.

Raid matchmaking in = shittier raids unless the requirements are stringent.
Far more complex MMOs with longer more complex raid mechanics than Destiny have no issue with matchmaking in raids.

All they have to do is allow automatic voice coms enabled when you play via matchmaking, and have gear score restrictions set in place. All simple things other MMOs have done.

Raid matchmaking means communication is not required which means it's dumbed down and not really a raid in the destiny 1 sense.
Where does this nonsense come from? Other MMOs don't dumb down their raids for matchmaking

None that I can think of--and they all put you at a huge disadvantage if you even tried.
Nah, if they keep the same aim assist on the controller as they would on console, there are quite a few games where controller has certain advantages over m/kb. I've been destroying at DOOM multiplayer using my elite controller. Games with long ttk and fast maneuverability have a chance of making it perfectly possible to be competitive.

Man, this game will continue to skyrocket in popularity if it gets released on PC.

I wonder if Destiny 2 will just be a more refined version of 1 or if they will expand the gameplay even more to make it more open and sociable, like having text chat on PC for the hubs.

If they allow to copy characters to PC and still maintain my PS4 characters I'm in for double-dipping.

I'll get Destiny 2 on PS4 anyways due to my friends not having gaming PCs, but Crucible 60fps is an crazy awesome thought.
