[Rumor] PS4's Marketing Campaign: "Greatness Awaits"

Everything's in the treatment for these things. You could read a script and it might seem lame as hell, but the execution can bring it to brilliance. Or vice versa.

I would say though, the bit about Destiny is interesting. Obviously Bungie was at the Feb meeting and talked about a 'partnership' with Sony, and announced a content deal. But maybe it's a marketing thing too?

Fully agree .

look at this old ps2 ad and then imagine how the script must have read.

Sounds like old arrogant Sony is back. Hope they fail miserably :)

Why would you hope for this?

It doesn't sound arrogant at all. It sounds like they want to continue their tradition of placing the idea that playstation has a wide variety of games, and encompasses everything you could find on a system, while being epic. Commercial sounds great if done right.

Then how come you haven't bought a PS4?

Hit the share button to show your homies how to pwn noobs in Call of Duty: Ghosts, or even take control and do it for them. It only costs $599 US dollars.

Sony, PM me for more campaign ideas.

Confidence is pretension? Jesus, do you want them to bow down and say "everyone else is great too!" in their ads?

No, I want them to create ads that actually work. And if they don't work actually make me smile. Like parking a Crash Bandicoot truck outside of Nintendo headquarters and challenging Mario to a fight via a bullhorn until escorted off the premises by Nintendo security. With Microsoft apparently focusing on being anything but a gaming console, it's ripe to be mocked. Old successful Sony would have.

Actually, "Do Not Underestimate PlayStation" could be a good redeemer slogan, since a lot of people expected Sony to die out with PS3

Oh man I loved those ads. "Plumber Boy your time has come!"

LOL! Well done man

well, it beats wii u's marketing campaign of "here's a new controller for your wii".

(fyi I'm not against nintendo, I love nintendo, they just fucked up with marketing)

Am I the only one who is intrigued by the color yellow being used?
Is it possible that the PS4 will be black with yellow highlights seeing that the GameInformer PS4 issue also had yellow highlights?

It all depends on implementation. On the surface it seems way overblown, but if they do it right it could be pretty good

Pretty sure they used yellow for the cover because the Second Son in the title is yellow.

Sounds good. Anything will be better than the PS3 launch marketing. I do love the "Michael" ad and the Kevin Butler "Vice President" ones from later on.
