Rumor: Quantic Dream's next game might be called 'Fiv5'

On 12/30/09, Quantic Dream registered a number of domains http://j.mp/hl48x5 http://j.mp/h8Mi5N http://j.mp/i83fox http://j.mp/fL5erv and…

… http://j.mp/hl48x5 http://j.mp/hVycIs http://j.mp/gcNzhE http://j.mp/eijT1d as well as .eu versions. And later http://bit.ly/gCmc82

No clue what Playseries is, but given Cage's history of ripping off David Fincher, it's not a leap to assume that Fiv5 is a new game.

And so it's no surprise when "Five" shows up in the job description of a new hire on Quantic Dream's LinkedIn page http://j.mp/fGUOKT

(alt links: http://j.mp/dLVrID http://j.mp/geigQ5 http://j.mp/f6IgSr) curiously alongside Infraworld, which was to be QD's 1st next-gen game

http://j.mp/ePUmsj — Infraworld was canned in 2006 because the concept did not appeal to publishers at the time.

http://j.mp/gLxA21 — Yet a month after Heavy Rain, Cage said his next game was sorta "already written" and very different from HR.

http://j.mp/ieC3fK - Few months later Davey De Gruttola, of course, announced he is working on two "very different projects"

http://j.mp/euzbhZ — Davey reiterates differentness of next game the other day, so I'm going to guess Infraworld is that next game.

"Infra" is Latin for below or beneath, & based on this art http://j.mp/dJsNWT , I'm assuming that it's a exploration of some sort of "hell"

And given Cage's inclination for sledgehammer unsubtlety, I'm assuming that Five is another serial killer game and QD's fifth game.

Fiv5 is trademarked by SCE in Europe

Ah, I see. The title mirrors the story of the game.

It starts out fairly logical and interesting and then gets stupid and nonsensical right at the end.

If you can replace a random letter with a 5, why not go all the way and call it 5555

Par for the course for QD.

So if Infraworld ends up being their fourth game, Fiv5 could be just an internal project name? Like I-8 used to be the code name for Resistance: Fall of Man?

Fiv-five?

Ugh, this number in the title thing is getting ridiculous.

However, if all the text in the game has its vowels replaced with numbers, they could at least call it innovative and be right.

I would hope so. Because if they are just ripping of Se7en for plot and structure, naming it Fiv5 would just be horribly stupid.

Awesome, can't wait 'til Amir0x plays it and begins trolling it in every thread possible whether the thread is related to the game or not.

"Man, that sucks that you missed out on the job opportunity. Still, it could be worse. I mean, you could be forced to play Fiv5 all day long or something. lulz."

:p

Oh, here comes the typical David Cage hate.
I for one cannot wait to see the next game from Quantic Dreams but the name though is kinda lame.

Why didn't he just call Heavy Rain Se7en and get it over with?

Why won't people realize Se7en is the only thing that will ever get away with using that naming convention?

Fox as we're a bunch of foxy chicks. Force as we're a force to be reckoned with. Fiv5 as it's completely ... fucking ... stupid ...

There have been a lot of terrible uses of numbers replacing letters in titles, but this is the worst.
Pretty sure Thi4f is still worse than this. If only the new Hitman was actually called 5Hitman.
