These are two of my favorite games of all time, but i would really rather just have Team ICO work on new ideas. People didn't appreciate these games the first time around, what makes you think they will now?

It's likely that someone else will port those games.

Was in college when my ps2 died before these came out and my next console was a 360. I've been itching to play these and holding off on buying in hopes of a collection. Thank you whoever is responsible for this.

I loved Ico but never got the chance to give SoTC a pop. Thereafter I forlornly hoped it'd get "remastered" so fingers crossed.

What surprise WILL sony be able to announce at E3? SHEESH

Everyone was like this last year. As a company it doesn't matter if Sony announces much 'new' at E3, and fanboys need to stop expecting it. It will be like last year where the majority of things covered were already known and there were only a couple 'surprises'.

Personally I found SotC to be a dull, drab and dreary game, but this would absolutely be good news for the fans, if it turns out to be true. Hoping for the best for those of you who liked it :)

Day 1. SOTC is probably my favorite game on Playstation 2 and I'll definitely get a HD version when possible.

People thought Last Guardian was this year? :lol

Very excited for this news though! Day one.
Maybe SotC will be playable now.

I still think, even with RDR out, that SotC has by far the most real looking, sounding, and animating horse.

Argo ruined videogame horses. I'm enjoying RDR and it captures riding better than most, but I was surprised how quickly I was shooting these disposable vehicles in the head. I could never do that to a thousand Argos. For one thing, he'd notice my murderous intent and get out of the way.

They set the horsey bar really freaking high.

Eh, seriously? I bet you the guy just shares my opinion: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=21479265&postcount=305

Are you talking to me, to soldat or to the mod..?

To be honest, when I played through Shadow of the Colossus I was so into the game that I didn't notice the slowdowns. I'm not very sensitive to framerate or tearing, unless it's extremely awful or gamebreaking.

Oh well, I'm certainly not an advocate of 'choppy animation.'

You should be happy. Its a Shadow of the Colossus blind love tag. It could be WAY worse.

Argo still is the most realistic horse in a game in terms of animation, sound, and even controls. Unfortunately, while they succeeded brilliantly at making it feel like you're controlling a character who's riding a horse (instead of feeling like you're directly controlling the horse like in most games), that design decision made for some serious annoyances - it's probably the main reason that I SotC never lived up to Ico for me.

That said, there is no game I would buy faster than a remade/remastered Ico (still my favorite game of last generation), so definitely keeping my finger crossed for this to be true.

Hey, I just remembered that if they did this, we Americans would finally get the version of Ico that unlocks the ability to see what Yorda and the Queen are saying on a second playthrough. Awesome.

They have like 5 lines, you could find out right now if you head to gamefaqs. I have the european ICO, they don't say anything mindblowing. :p

Please don't fuck up the boxart!

This. If Sony and Team Ico can create a tasteful super special edition à la God of War Ultimate Trilogy Edition I will be all over it!

If this is announced at their presentation at E3, then its pretty much impossible for Sony to fuck up their conference this year.

Nothing could put a downer on the glory that is the ICO collection :D

This is more about my greed for what others have that I don't than it is about the lines in particular.

I went to GFaqs to read that and ...what..? European ICO has multiplayer..?

Day one if real. I would have loved it for this holiday though.

Been waiting for this every since I bought a PS3 that is not backwards compatible (never got a PS2) . Will buy day -2 (a local store almost always breaks the street date).

While I didn't own God of War 2 I have both of these games sitting on my shelf. I also have a launch ps3 so I can play ps3 games fine, so this would be less of an instant buy than the GoW collection. However I don't know if I could resist picking this up if it were $30 and had a bunch of improvements.

And filters, and you can eat watermelons with Yorda at the beach. Didn't know anything of this. Good easter eggs are one of the best things in videogames.
If this came true, any chances SCEA or whatever releases the PAL version which was more "complete" than the US release?? PAL version is the only one that has translated text of Ico language!!!

If this does get announced, I hope its the PAL version with co-op and all the extra jazz.

BTW could anyone tell me why some features were taken out of the US version?? thnx

He has a point though.

But I think the "clinical look & feel" is mainly because the majority of 60fps games have very simplistic graphics and/or very simple and fast controls. If they had as much effects and filters as most 30fps games, and the controls, weight, speed and physics of the protagonist were more advanced, they wouldn't feel so clean.

Still a lame tag though. I mean, do Uncharted 2 and MotorStorm have choppy animation ? Both 30fps.

IIRC it's not like they removed features from the US version. They added them in the EU one since it was released later. Like 5 or 6 months later.

It's the other way around. The US version was the first one released, and the extra stuff was added in later.

I hope that gets into this collection too.

That would make the most sense since that's actually the most complete version. Why re-mastering the "uncomplete" one? Heck, they might even add online co-op while they are at it.

AH! thanx guys for clearing that up!

I guess SoTc didnt sell to well in the US to get a new version out for retail. But then again, that rarely happens in the US and is more of a Japanese thing.(re-releases)

If this gets announced plus it includes all the extra content not found in the original US version = I will do 2 backflips at the same time in midair! :lol

What kind of games are SOTC and Ico? Zelda with a twist of RPG?
To compare to Zelda they are like deconstructions of certain elements of zelda.

Ico: one dungeon, no bosses, yorda replaces a health meter. The game is an escort mission(not in a bad way) and platformer. The puzzles are mostly like zelda with pressure plates and boxes.

SOTC: Open field and 16 bosses, nothing else. You jump and climb over the bosses.

Neither game has an inventory. In Ico you can carry either a stick or sword and when a puzzle needs one or the other it'll be in the room somewhere so you can swap if you have to. In SOTC you have a sword and bow and never get anything else in your first play through.
