Are they already making a Sonic game for the PS5/X2/Wii W?

Edit: welp, source of rumour is /v/. It must be true, then.

The rumoured 2015 Sonic game made by the Generations team? Beyond excited. Generations was that good I have faith in this.

I'd really like it if they started focusing less on running, more on layered platforming. Definitely place elements that encourage players to zoom through parts of the level (loops, twisted walkways, etc.), but don't make them the norm. Also, make another 2D sidescrolling console game that isn't piecemeal episodic fare, thanks.

Also, Generations was still terrible.

Name aside, if it's anything like generations I'm way past sold. Sega needs to stop pushing sonic so hard and let the generations team make a good sonic every 2-4 years. The rest of Sega should revive old ips or something. There's an ovetsaturation of sonic lately

Remember how /v made a rumor about Tails playing the bagpipe in Sonic Boom among other things? Yeah, this is fake.

The Sonic Stadium said:
Sonic acts like he did from the Adventure era as opposed to his more recent ‘edgy’ style.
What? Sonic is only edgy *now*, as opposed to his adventure personality?

Uh...how was Colours Sonic edgy? I don't get this. I'm all for more Adventure in my Sonic but that doesn't make any sense to me.

Holding out hope for them to pull a next gen Generations on me before I bail out of the Sonic ship. Lost World was ok, Boom looks like ass. There's a sliver of hope left.

Sounds like another bad Sonic game to me.
Sonic cycle continues.
At this point isn't it just a Sonic flatline? Surely no one actually believes a new Sonic game will ever be good.

That's quite the opinion.

Unleashed day time was decent and Generations was fantastic in my opinion. Not sure about the hate it gets, it's sonic, he jumps around and runs fucking fast with awesome music. What are people expecting exactly? I mean 06 and the Wii games were horrific, I don't count this Sonic Boom bollocks, that's like the story book games imo

Sonic Colours: Fantastic
Sonic Generations: Seriously good.
Lost World: Disappointingly mediocre.
Sonic Boom: I don't want to live on this planet anymore.

Colours/Generations received good reviews and were generally well received both on here and in the wider gaming sphere. If this game is made by that team and the indication we have currently is that it is; I have faith that this will be good. Also Sonic is the only franchise Sega devotes resources to anymore given the series' guaranteed sales potential. A lifeline that is keeping the company alive. If this is the all-out Sonic reboot for next generation platforms then chances are it will at least be decent.

I know some recent Sonic games have been disappointing but Colours/Generations prove that Sonic Team are still capable of making good games.
