Considering it is most likely a common enemy of both Russia and Turkey, cooler heads should preveal and it will just lead to further actions against Kurds or IS, no war.

This is probably just the beginning. Russia could end up in a world of hurt for its support of Assad.

The attacker in Ankara showed a police ID to enter the perimeter. He shouted something about Aleppo and Syria before opening the fire: Media

I'm surprised the Russian ambassador to Turkey wasn't under better surveillance/protection and was just walking around looking at pictures in a country where Russia is extremely unpopular right now

Can someone explain the implications here? I know nothing of Turkey and Russia's relationship.

Turkey shot down a Russian plane which raised tensions. Erdogan and Putin have been restoring relations since then. If this sours them enough to force Russia into attacking, the United States and Europe would be forced to retaliate against Russia under the NATO defense pact.

Turkey is a member of NATO, but despite that Turkey's leadership (Erdogan) and Russia have been growing closer due to the EU and the United States growing increasingly uncomfortable with Erdogan's crackdown on opposition, plus the usual Turkish opposition to Kurds in the context of the Syrian Civil War. Hard to imagine this will make Turkey-Russian relations turn sour given how their governments have been acting lately, but who knows.

This is what happens when your government keeps on fueling the Jihadist arguements, your politicians keeps on focusing Aleppo while two bomb attacks happen in your country in the last week.
Assasin alledgedly yell 'You are going to die just like us in Syria' after shooting down the ambassador.

Months ago Turkey shot down a russian aircraft that allegedly was in their airspace, since then things have been tense between the two. Now the real problem is that Turkey is a NATO member and has in his soil american nukes pointed to Russia.

Can't see how it could be the Kurds at all given their relationship with Russia. In fact their relationship is one of the things that makes tthe Turkish and Russian relationship complicated
