Awesome, another Sakura Taisen game that wont see the light on the USA.

Got another one to import.
This one has much higher chance than the other ones, since it's on the DS and is an RPG. If it turns out decent, someone will pick it up.

EDIT: and for those wondering, the full title is "Dramatic Dungeon Sakura Taisen ~Kimiaru ga tame~"

The 'H' stands for hentai.

It is Sakura Taisen, considering they skipped the past 5 games for the USA release, I would really hate for a game that is not as good as the main series to get picked up for USA release.

Of course, if it does get licensed and released in the USA and sells well (yeah right), it could mean a release of the previous games.

Mystery Dungeon game! Alright!

As excited as I get about them, I still haven't bought any yet. Well, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon 2 is coming out soon enough.

This is so awesome! I always wanted to try this series. Please American release. :D
This isn't the starting game you're looking for.

It's different than the main games. Whether that is better or not remains to be seen. And at this point the other games are so old, that the best chance would be hoping for the PSP port.

It looks pretty good, but sheesh... between Pokemon's MD 1 and 2, Izuna 1 and 2, Shiren DS, and now this (not to mention Shiren 3 and Chocobo's MD 3 on Wii), isn't it starting to become Mysterious Dungeon overload?

Well if memory serves me right, one of the hurdles in localizing the games is the licensing issues. Sure Sega / Red owns the properties, but so do all those involved such as the voice actors for example.

Sakura Taisen is not just a series of games, but rather an entity on by itself, with the stage plays and musicals, radio dramas, the animations, and whatnot.

But the biggest hurdle is, like every other Japanese Sega game, Sega of America has no idea on what to do the game.

Besides this is one of those things best left in Japan.

This is relevant to my internets.

I remembered seeing coverage on almost every Sakura Taisen and always wishing they'd translate it and bring it over. Never did I ever think they'd actually do it, and after seeing a limited edition Dreamcast pass, I knew I could stop looking at anything Sakura Taisen. Looks like this might actually have a chance at being released in something other than moonspeak.

Don't worry, this one will be particularly bad. And Pokemon will be embarassing to play as an adult. Stick to Shiren DS and then later Shiren 3 for portables, and Chocobo for home use. :D

By the way, since there's fans here... I have two small questions...

Do you know if there's multiple-game interactions in PS2 versions of ST1, 3 and 5 ? I mean, in DC games, what you were doing in ST2, for example, could have effects in ST3 if you used the same memory card (I own all PS2 games, but only played half of the third and the fifth ones yet, and on different consoles, so I couldn't check)

Does somebody know if all hidden games (like casino, or Koubu action game) of Sakura Taisen 3 DC are also available on PS2 ? Any changes ?

Damn, there's a shitload of characters now... I haven't played anything since ST2 on the Saturn. ST1 was the first adventure/strat game in Japanese that I played through multiple times with only an understanding of about 25% of what I was reading/hearing. Despite that, it remains one of the best games/experiences on that system.

Edit: Oh, and I really liked Hanagumi Taisen Columns, too. I love the chibi ST characters!
