And... GC outsold both 360 and PS3 combined in WW sales last year? WTF? Am I reading that wrong?

The Gamecube had a little longer to boost its tie ratio, of course. Plus so few people bought it that overall it didn't really matter.AniHawk said:On the topic of software sales:
GBA: 376.66m (4.644 tie ratio)
NDS: 369.61m (5.235 tie ratio)
GC: 208.47m (9.589 tie ratio)
Wii: 148.44m (6.071 tie ratio)
Essentially there are more people buying games for the DS than there were on the GBA, but there are less people buying games for their Wii.

a bit premature. Both Wii and NDS will have better tie ratios in the next two years, especially the DS (software forecast/hardware forecast).AniHawk said:On the topic of software sales:

It depends on how many Konami shipped. IIRC, there were some sporadic supply issues with the title.frankie_baby said:i doubt DDR is even close to selling a million everything else though you're probably right

Actually DDR Hottest Party did REALLY WELL on NPD. I'd still be surprised if coupled with Europe it shipped over 1m, but I bet it at least reached half that.frankie_baby said:well it sold pretty shit in japan, hasn't appeared in the NPD at all and only came out in europe fairly recently and if there really has been sporadic supply i'd be surprised if konami has shipped more than a few hundred thousand
my roommate is actually looking for that game. We went one night to Walmart searching for it but it wasnt there.Stormbringer said:Rampage Wii shipped over 1M according to Midway's last financial statement (ending December 31st), so it potentially reached the milestone as well.
Tie ratios increase dramatically when people stop buying the system. The old owners will keep buying games and increasing their collection, and there'll be no new owners with 1 game dragging the system tie ratio down.AniHawk said:Essentially there are more people buying games for the DS than there were on the GBA, but there are less people buying games for their Wii.

Yeah, low numbers. Once again, Nintendo is a conservative company when it comes to forecast. I won't be surprised if they need to correct their forecasts during this year.Leonsito said:!!! That's impossible :-O
