(Sales Age) Earnings time again (Nintendo, Microsoft, Sony, UBI)

For those interested. Always good for shipment numbers of Hardware and what publishers think will be sold in the coming year from a hardware standpoint (US & Europe)

Nintendo will be releasing results of their fiscal year 1:00AM EST April 24th (tonight). Expect ungodly profit, updates on insane HW shipments for both the DS & Wii, as well as updates on the leading SW publishing sales in the industry.

Ubisoft & Microsoft will release results tomorrow during the day.

EA & Activision will also be announcing earnings over the next 2 weeks. Sony won't announce until May 14th.

So, tomorrow then?

Tomorrow tomorrow

oops. I had put that Ubi is announcing at 11:30AM EST, with a conference call at 12:00PM and Microsoft was announcing at 4PM EST, but decided that was more information than necessary and chopped it off and put in another tomorrow.

I'm looking forward to these more than NPDs.

I think all should be in the black, I don't think it's that big of a deal outside of getting accurate worldwide hardware and software numbers.

Is there a way we can get them in one currency for comparison purposes.

I know I can do the conversions myself, but that involves effort...

The press releases will generally have the USD conversion.

Nintendo buys Microsoft soon after announcing reports :D

I'm sure you're joking, but:

Nintendo 2007 FY Revenue: $9.33 billion (using today's currency exchange rate)
Microsoft 2007 FY Revenue: $51.12 billion

Perspective, my friend :)

Yeah, I think it's easy to get caught up in how incredibly the video game industry is doing and forget that Microsoft is making more off its other products than the industry in its entirety.

Yeah, latest NPD seems to confirm it.

This will be interesting, for sure.

Oh, and while we're at it with the results release, just saw this list of dates floating around on some Japanese message board (time zone for these is Japan) :

Nintendo　: 4/24　- 16h <- less than an hour from now, I believe
Microsoft　: 4/24
Ban-Namco　: 5/8
Sega　: 5/13
Koei　: 5/13
Sony　: 5/14
Hudson　: 5/14
Tecmo : 5/14
Konami　: second third of May
Capcom　: 5/20
Square-Enix　: 5/23
Marvelous　: 5/23

Coud be plausible...Guess we will see how it turns out.

Bah, I can't wait, I want the information NOW. In fact, I want it yesterday. I want to see the 50 page thread before it happens.

I dunno, considering the volume and variety of products that Microsoft makes, the fact that a company about 1/100th of MS' size can make 1/5th of the same revenue is FUCKING INCREDIBLE.

No doubt. I bet there are very few companies on the planet that come close to approaching Nintendo's employee to revenue and employee to profit ratios, if any. It's truly amazing.

And HOLY SHIT at 1,672,423 million yen revenue, a 73% increase over last year. Though oddly, net income "only" increased 47.7% over last year.

Looks like old hardware was still selling:

GBA (all versions): 81.06m
NA: 41.64m
Japan: 16.88m
Other: 22.53m

Gamecube: 21.74m
NA: 12.94m
Japan: 4.04m
Other: 4.77m

Should be the final numbers for both.

Current hardware LTD:
NDS: 70.60m
NA: 22.39m
Japan: 22.38m
Other: 25.82m

Wii: 24.45m

They expect to double (actually slightly more) what they sold LTD in the next fiscal year. Double. LTD. YEAR.

Edit. OH MY FREAKING GOD. I just saw the DS's software prediction.

DS software and hardware predictions are stagnant, but considering last year's growth, still utterly insane.

Wii software and hardware show lots of growth, so production must be increasing about 35%.

That's just over 2 million Wii's a month.

That means Wii got a production boost.

I think I blacked out at the Wii's hardware prediction, wasn't even able to comprehend their software prediction until Anihawk posted it. And for the record, Wii's Hardware and Software would be a significant increase. DS though if anything is slightly down actually.
