Save With Amazon Prime: Super Mario Maker and Halo 5

Huh...for some reason I thought Mario Maker was a digital only game and not a retail release + retail pricing (more importantly, the latter).

Day 1 still, but I'll have to scrape up some more cash to make it at launch :/

That's awesome, 5% off on the Discover IT card for Amazon too. I have some eShop credit stock piled but I guess I'll save that for some 3DS and other launch day Wii U games. Thanks for the nod OP.

What if I'm already a prime member and pre-ordered it months ago? Will this deal pass me by unless I email their customer service?
Amazon has a pre-order price guarantee. You will always get the lowest listed price between the time you pre-ordered and release. So yes, this will pass to you.

Are we sure that there won't be an Amiibo + Game bundle in the US? I was hoping there would be since Woolly World is getting one

Halo 5 is $38 at Best buy with $10 preorder reward and GCU.

Mario Maker ain't bad though, but GCU is still the better deal.

Will never spend a cent at Best Buy again; their return policies are too draconian.

This has been the opposite of my experience.

Best Buy is lax as fuck as long as you're in the return time frame. A while back I played with a new iPad mini for a week. Apple announced a new one with Retina, I took it back immediately. They asked me if it still worked and nothing else. Was out in 10 minutes.

Same with a pair of headphones. They supposedly worked fine but ended up not being compatible with what I needed them for. They took them back opened and all, no hassle.

Yes, but if you're outside of the return time frame—even one day—you're fucked. That's what happened to me. It was right after the holidays, the day after the return period ended, because I wasn't able to get to the store where the item was purchased (45 minutes' drive from me) until then. The item I was trying to return was still sealed, and could have been put right back on the shelf. The manager refused to do anything, and he was a huge dick about it, acting like I was trying to pull something on him. I wasn't rude or pushy, and I had the receipt. I didn't even want my money back, just a store credit so I could buy something else from them later (which wasn't in stock at that time).

Never again. They don't get another penny from me.

I was surprised too. What ever happened to that preorder price guarantee, hmm?

Figured it'd be easier to create a whole new order rather than contacting support about this.

Might be because it's not a price drop, but a special deal. Could be worth someone contacting Amazon to see if they can update the preorder price guarantee to take them into account.

with tax most games come out to $52 at Best Buy with GCU so...

and amazon now charges tax for my state....whats the difference? Be prepared, everyone will soon eventually be paying it. Illinois just recently started getting hit by it from amazon.

All amazon sales tax states now include

Arizona Illinois Massachusetts North Carolina Texas

California Indiana Minnesota North Dakota Virginia

Connecticut Kansas Nevada Ohio Washington

Florida Kentucky New Jersey Pennsylvania West Virginia

Georgia Maryland New York Tennessee Wisconsin

lol at pre-order price guarantee.....sounds like the experience only gets better at amazon. Forcing customers to contact CS for that policy is stupid.....should automatically change on the order.

since Best Buy is not an option for me (doesn't ship to my address) this option is making me consider SMM

they actually changed that, I have some arguments with CS about this, you must ask to the CS to lower the price or they won't

Some real committal cut-off-your-nose type spite here.

Except I'm not cutting off my nose. I have plenty of other places to buy anything they sell at similar or better prices. And you weren't there to see what an asshole that manager was to me. If a company treats me that way, I don't give them my business. Why would you?

Heads up to everyone that has American Express cards they are running a $15 off an order of $15 or more on amazon.com too. Changed my card to my Amex so SMM is $35!

Edit: the offer is through Amex not Amazon.com, you have to add it through your Amex page and some people won't have it, I have a Blue Cash Everyday.

This did not work for me.

Edit: Oh it's an AMEX reward, so you have to login to your amex account and check to see if you qualify. It's not something that happens ON amazon.com.

And I just didn't have the offer anyway.

These deals are cool for games I'm not in a hurry to play, but I'm gonna be at the store as soon as they open on October 27 to get my copy of Halo 5. Sorry Amazon.

Edit : Tho honestly, if I'm not in a hurry to play a game, I'm gonna wait till the price is down to at least $30.

you just ran In to somebody shitty but he doesn't represent the whole company. Just like Subway doesn't actually support child porn because one of their employees does. had you gone over his head to district to complain, he would have been groveling at your feet. You shouldn't have to go that far of course. Also, why not just go to a different best buy? You mentioned specifically going to the store where it was purchased, but you dont need to do that. Lastly, you of course WERE outside the return policy. You can accept some blame yourself.
