I think it's time to lift the blackout. Is there any streaming going on with Ryobi? I'm curious at how they improve her.

Can't imagine what you two could be talking about

Graphically? Certain things are much improved. Gameplay-wise? I dunno, she feels fine but I'm just getting started. Her charged breach art is now a shotgun sort of thing.

Before I feel like they didn't expand her gunplay right, and all the shots feel really bad to use, so I'm curious if they change some of its to make her better.

And I want to see more of Renka.

Her shots seem to always stagger on hit now. Or at least when the cpu uses her. Only played as her in the intro level so far but I really can't wait to see what's changed about her.

I found the breach art pretty damn satisfying in Versus. I'll have to see how it all feels now, I'm still just getting started.

Did the characters always have height differences or is it just more obvious in the talking scenes now?

Renka is really cool. She kicks her drum at people for a launcher. I've only got one chance to play as her so far during the opening tutorial missions.

I don't think it was apparent in SV but it definitely was in BA. Seems even more apparent here.

No Life, no Hometown, just despair.

All kidding aside, that really sucks. I hope you are able to get your game soon without any issues.

Boy this game. L-E-W-D Capital letters.

My copies just shipped. I can't wait. >:]

@Maid: I dated a Vietnamese girl in college. Even Americanized their family was extremely strict. Their parents wouldn't let me in their house cause I was white. An they forbid her and I to go out together in public together.

Those new girls' uniform looks really great. I'm a sucker for sleeveless outfit.

Seem like energy is harder to generate than before? From what I saw it took quite a while to get 1 bar for ninpo, compare to SKSV where we just spam it all days everyday.

That's way harsher than usual. Even here we don't have much problem with accepting foreign partner.

Well, I'm sure in around 10 years the new generation's perception will change, but the old way of thinking is still sticking with us for a while until that time. Best luck to you, then.

this game is nothing but improvement on many fronts BUT

- the lock is must less accurate than in SV
- the movement speed is hit or miss it feel slower when in reality it isn't. I think that's because some places are much larger than in SV so there is more moments where you're not at max speed.

-Renka is AWESOME, love her moves , love her animations , love her attitude.

-THAT STORY is something that is both full of character fanservice( lot of jokes need previous knowledge from Burst or SV ) and totally crazy..they really went all out on this.

Dressing room ........Drollllllls

As nice as that is to hear, from what I understand, it might've been a smaller shipment compared to other games.

So while technically EV sold more of its first print shipment than Bloodborne (man, would THAT make for a hilarious meltdown thread), Bloodborne might've just shipped out more copies at launch compared to EV.

Arg why does Murasaki bring that creepy bear to the main menu screen. Love most of the main menu poses. Imu moving in on Miyabi, lol. Shiki and Yozakura only camera angle, bless you camera man.

Love some of the little touches in this game already. Murasaki has a really cool effect on her face now.

I wasn't expecting it to beat bloodborne or anything, but that means it beat expectations. I hope they print up more. I also hope the Vita one sold well...maybe they'll move mainline stuff over to PS.

As much as I am enjoying the game play of this I really do hope someone does a translation guide soon so I can understand more of the story. From what I've played I do think its mostly an improvement across the board. Few issues but nothing that should dampen anyone's fun.

Yes ninpo gain is slower , though early on you can still spam it thanks to level ups. Scroll drops are common too
I'm inferring from this that you still get all your HP/Ninpo restored whenever you level up in EV. Real shame, since that was easily the most annoying thing about its prequel for me.

Can't you hide the menu on the main menu to take screenshots?

I must say I love the flow of this game a ton more than the mainline/SV stuff. Absolutely fuck the stupid walking around the base crap and the different school storylines. This being a seamless experience is so much better.

Mirai found an octopus. Excellent

I didn't notice HP, but yeah ninpo is a full restock. It stops being a big factor later on, but yeah it'd be nice if there were a way to disable it or something.

So it is confirmed it's one huge, overarching story between all the characters/schools instead of multiple stories between each school? I really like the sound of that & hope they stick with that. I'd rather have quality over quantity when it came to the story, though don't mind the small character-specific ones.

edit: I'm sure it'll be a controversial change, but there seems to be a much greater feeling of weight for characters with certain (heavy) weapons. I actually like Yomi more now, feels more satisfying.

BTW, Chase now changes targets after your current target is defeated. So good.

It seamlessly switches between characters or schools as needed for the story. You can switch schools/characters, but it really only affects who is posing on the main menu. You can replay any level with any character, the first attempt always has a preset character. Also it doesn't ask you to switch characters it just does it for you.

Yeah, I think I like how they did it this time around, from what I'm hearing. Hopefully, focusing on one story allowed the quality to be better compared to SV.

I'll have to see for myself, but I might be fine with this since it'll help add uniqueness to each character, considering we're at 25 now. I don't remember many characters in SV being different in terms of speed or jump height.

I love the overall theme of this too. All the music is so goddamn happy and everyone's having fun and stuff.

Boob physics might be my fav iteration. There's a good spring to them but they're not ridiculous crazy absurd like in the earliest games. They're still antigrav boobs of course. Wonder if we'll ever got options a la DOA.

Also, they did exactly what I wanted with the special attacks: they're all realtime, so no time wasted by cinematic effects, but they still do the cinematic camera angles and poses in realtime. Looks great, doesn't break the flow, good stuff. Lots of really badass poses for the camera too. A few ass poses for the camera too.

It's not like Yomi moves like a Silent Hill character or anything, it's not a massive change and she can still jump and stuff. She just feels a bit heavier which adds some satisfaction to the big hits with the blade.

Oh yeah, the special attacks being changed to realtime is such an improvement. After seeing them once, I would always skip them because they broke the flow of battle, especially when the attack itself would just be a repeat of what the cutscene showed.

Gotta give praise for the camera works in this one. Pretty fantastic and dynamic, from transformation to special attacks. Look smooth and seamless, too, even with the costume destruction.

The camera work is pretty fantastic. Great angles and movements, verty fluid, rarely distracting.

Urg, Ikaruga's recovery animation is badass but really annoying. Did she always put away the sword after every volley?

Ikaruga's lvl 1 super is a great example of attention to detail. If you whiff the first blow the attack continues at a normal camera angle and still does damage in case it hits. If you hit the first blow you can a camera pan in front of Ikaruga to watch the flurry of slices behind her. Great stuff. Also lol why is her scroll in her armpit?

How do you do the midair super(?) thing that was in the tutorial? I can't remember the input.

I think the recovery animations are new which I think adds to the overall theme of this game being a tad less frantic. Although speaking to that on the harder difficulties some characters ground strings are really hard to get off. Also noticed back to back boss fights with multiple bosses is a thing WAY more often now. Most bosses at least so far seem pretty easily dispatched HP wise.

Also is it just me but do the flyover shots and music and presentation of the stages remind anyone of old SEGA arcade games? I'm pretty sure VF used to do flyovers like that of the stages.

Ugh the lingerie lottery is awful as ever. At least default to 1 coin instead of zero so I can just mash confirm to get through this. I don't understand how shit like this isn't caught in playtesting. Insanely simple change of defaults and so much frustration would be removed. 0 isn't even a valid input.

Think this is the sort of thing XSeed might listen to complaints about?

Yes, that is annoying. Also there seems to be only 3 designs or at least that I've seen. Its way worse about just being all color/pattern swaps.

Yeah I wasn't sure if it was just my luck but it looked like it was mostly boring swimsuits. I figured bare-minimum it'd be the same as Versus with the sillier ones. The tape and such.

While some stages are clearly reused, they have much better assets and seem to all be expanded from their original form, I don't really mind it.

What are these shrines all about? It seems desecrating them causes a counter to go up?

They are a collectible of some sort. There is a trophy attached to them. Not sure if they are significant beyond that.

I figured a trophy would happen at least.

Are the backgrounds in the 3D cutscenes prerendered or? If not, that's some of the best DOF I've ever seen in a game

It's worth a try. I mean, Xseed added content to Akiba's Trip for the US via the male strip portraits. If enough people mention it, they might patch it in at the very least.

Actually I think you still gain Ninpo pretty fast, it's just that your first meter fill (to transform) takes much longer. I just filled it in like 6 attacks with Katsu vs a boss. Haven't really paid too much attention to how fast it fills per hit, but I'm not feeling limited by ninpo even when I don't level up.

I really should have pre-ordered my NyuNyu DX. I guess I can hope if SK2 pre-orders go well they'll release them in Europe but it's unlikely.

Not after SK2 I guess.

It seems pretty clear to me that 3DS is SK2's problem. The Versus nyuu nyuu pack is still a hot item, they should have expected more sales. Hope there's a second print run of the non-LE at least. Also there's the digital PS4 version for easy importing.

That's my idea as well I'd have hoped they'd have realised this too but evidently not.
Still my fault for waiting till the last moment.

Ugh, if you get the Nyuu Nyuu packs be EXTREMELY careful with Imu's figure and put her head on before putting her on the base. She's attached to her staff at a single point, it's easy to pull her out...which I just did =/. Guess I need to learn how to glue these things. She looks perfectly intact but is loose.
