Love the new logo. It looks like Shenmue rather than some generic Eastern font they found for the placeholder.

Won't SOMEONE think of Spaghetti. This news is probably going to make him explode.

On a serious note, excellent news. And a much-improved, quite lovely logo. Glad they finally iterated it. Looks similar to Shenmue II's one from what I remember, but with more ambience and glow. So it sounds like we're in for a new trailer and possibly Shenmue I and II HD at Gamescom? Consider me hyped.

Full update:

First things first,

We would like to express our gratitude for the many comments we received on our previous report. From constructive criticism to kind words of encouragement, we were touched by every single one of your comments. Yu Suzuki and the entire Shenmue III Team are more determined than ever to bring to the Shenmue III that will live up to your expectations.

gamescom 2017 plans!

We will be attending Germany's mid-August gaming event gamescom 2017! While we are still working out the details with our partners, we plan to show our newest movie clips, share the latest updates and even make some new announcements.

Title logo change

Yes, Shenmue III has updated its title logo. Taking your comments into consideration, Yu Suzuki and the team gave the title logo another hard look and decided to update the logo with this design.

I think my cock will explode if they announce 1 & 2 remasters.

I've got the originals sat on a shelf at home which I've been unable to replay for about 10 years because my DC is fucked.

YSnet has nothing to do with Shenmue HD though, and do not have rights to use Shenmue 1 or 2, so I dont expect that to the announcement.

My guesses for an announcement

1. Kickstarter rewards will be previewed.

2. Devs will start to incorporate fans into the game, via capsules, photographs, etc.

3. Announce a full trailer.

4. Announce the date for the launch of the Shenmue III Demo Beta

5. Since Shibuya Productions is involved they might announce a Shenmue CGI/Anime series companion to go with Shenmue III.

I can see one or a mix of these announcements coming.

My gut tells me its #1.

Yea but when u are yoo busy to miss the biggest opportunity to get some attention for ur game, id kinda expect you to stay that way till release, or at least till next e3

Gamescom is big too. Plus it's easier for them to set up I guess since their main investor/producer, Shibuya Production, is located in Monaco.

Sega at Gamescom: "We can confirm we did release games called Shenmue 1 and 2 at some point. We believe some people want us to re-release them. Stay tuned"!

Hahaha.

Not quite explode, but very happy to hear they'll be at Gamescom.

Glad they've addressed the long-standing problem with the logo, and I'm also getting good vibes from those character models.

Too busy for e3 but free as a bird for gamescom less than 2 months later?

Could you not finish ur vertical slice in time
Considering Jim Ryan's comments on indies, there just may have been no room for Shenmue III at Sony's E3 show in that climate.
