It's a Cyrus 7 amp that I'm using for the GS-1000 and speakers... I'm ashamed to say I don't have a dedicated headphone amplifier yet.swoon said:what's next to the squeezebox? he can't been running that gs-1000 unamp'd

I don't know anywhere locally that has headphone amps to demo, and I'm having a hard time deciding on whether to go for an RA-1, an Earmax Silver Edition, or saving for an EAR HP4. It's hard to justify that kind of money when the Grados already sound so good - those JBLs weren't exactly cheap at £400, and I rarely ever use them now, as I just don't like the sound much after the GS-1000. All the amps I've seen only have one input too, which is a real inconvenience. Ideally I'd have at least two - one for the Squeezebox, the other for TV/gaming etc.
It also doesn't help that I'm planning on selling the LCD and upgrading to a Full HD Pioneer 8G plasma - the announcement is going to be next week, and it's expected to be around £4000 for the 50"

Had planned on getting some better shots, but I'm going to be selling the TV soon anyway. (wanting to upgrade to something around 50" now)
The basket is to throw in all my controllers/remotes, before anyone asks.

Yeah, opinions seem very split on the RA-1. Some people say it's a complete waste of money, others say it's worth it for the excellent synergy with Grado headphones. I'm most likely to go with an Earmax I think.swoon said:i've heard the RA-1 on several grados and i think it's pretty over-rated.

TV: Samsung 40 M71 (European model)
Reciever: Onkyo SR 505 7.1
Speakers: JBL SCS 178

BlizzyAzz said:Really? It may look tight, but the reciever doesn't really get warm, besides that where should I place it? Space is an issue :/
Variable said:Does the reciever have vents on the top? If it does, try to find a new space for it, it it does not, then forget what I said.

Moved earlier this year and decided it was finally time to unpack the boxes labelled 'old skool consoles' and put them all together in a corner of the PC room.
360 is in the living room hooked up to the projector but that setup is still too messy to post, will do that when I finally find a cabinet to my liking.

You need to put the other side of the PS3 against the side of the stand. The left side of the console doesn't have any vents since the HDD is there, but the other side is where 80% of the cooling vents on the console are.
purnoman3000 said:Is that the commercial version of the Panasonic Plasma?
Kadey said:Industrial or professional. It will be replaced with the XBR3 successor as that will supposedly take advantage of the latest goodies. The XBR3 is now in my room.

Lefty42o said:like this 360. has less than an inch of clearance for the major vents on the sides.
