what's next to the squeezebox? he can't been running that gs-1000 unamp'd
It's a Cyrus 7 amp that I'm using for the GS-1000 and speakers... I'm ashamed to say I don't have a dedicated headphone amplifier yet.

I don't know anywhere locally that has headphone amps to demo, and I'm having a hard time deciding on whether to go for an RA-1, an Earmax Silver Edition, or saving for an EAR HP4. It's hard to justify that kind of money when the Grados already sound so good - those JBLs weren't exactly cheap at £400, and I rarely ever use them now, as I just don't like the sound much after the GS-1000. All the amps I've seen only have one input too, which is a real inconvenience. Ideally I'd have at least two - one for the Squeezebox, the other for TV/gaming etc.

It also doesn't help that I'm planning on selling the LCD and upgrading to a Full HD Pioneer 8G plasma - the announcement is going to be next week, and it's expected to be around £4000 for the 50"

Had planned on getting some better shots, but I'm going to be selling the TV soon anyway. (wanting to upgrade to something around 50" now)

The basket is to throw in all my controllers/remotes, before anyone asks.

Where did you buy that TV stand? My friend is looking for something similar. Did you get it from Ikea?

there are several really sold input switchers for audiophiles like LR1 from mapletree audio design (who also make an handful are really good tube amps that are perfect for grados) though you need a DAC and the musiland MD10 is a great DAC/input switcher though it's a really ugly rackmount thing. i've heard the RA-1 on several grados and i think it's pretty over-rated.

My TV is only a 32'. I kind of wish a went a bit bigger.

I have the 360 sitting on a DVD case to improve ventilation (probably does nothing). It actually looks like it is floating.

It's two of these with a slight modification. You build up most of it as normal, but instead of putting the castors on the upper half, you use the screws that's meant to put the top on the lower part. Slots together like it was made to be that way, and it's really solid.

Yeah, opinions seem very split on the RA-1. Some people say it's a complete waste of money, others say it's worth it for the excellent synergy with Grado headphones. I'm most likely to go with an Earmax I think.

Really? It may look tight, but the reciever doesn't really get warm, besides that where should I place it? Space is an issue :/

Does the reciever have vents on the top? If it does, try to find a new space for it, it it does not, then forget what I said.

It has vents on the top and on the bottom aswell. Maybe I can extend the legs of the stand and put it below.

Moved earlier this year and decided it was finally time to unpack the boxes labelled 'old skool consoles' and put them all together in a corner of the PC room.

360 is in the living room hooked up to the projector but that setup is still too messy to post, will do that when I finally find a cabinet to my liking.

I give this a 12 out of 12 for charisma.

You need to put the other side of the PS3 against the side of the stand. The left side of the console doesn't have any vents since the HDD is there, but the other side is where 80% of the cooling vents on the console are.

Is that the commercial version of the Panasonic Plasma?

Industrial or professional. It will be replaced with the XBR3 successor as that will supposedly take advantage of the latest goodies. The XBR3 is now in my room.

Sorry, yeah, that's what I meant: industrial or professional, the one with the custom input blades right. Which one did you get?

You mean the terminal boards which are optional like everything else to these models. I got the latest one.

Great as always.

Three actually. Two come over every Friday to do cleaning, one lives with me.

the trick is in the photography. The rooms look pretty clean and simple and I think (apart from the 52X) wouldn't cost you much to put together.

However he takes really nice photos. Proper product/design magazine type stuff.

I should get you round to take some shots of my place :)
