Sis wants me to buy her booze for senior week, am I being overly paranoid?

I remember being in her position when I graduated high school and went on senior week and want to help out, but I also feel like I'm assuming a lot of risk here. If worst came to worst and she and her 8 housemates got busted, what is the likelihood that I'll be linked to this shit? Do cops really offer lighter sentences if those in possession rat on who bought it? She's asking for two cases of crap beer. There house is a decent distance from where everyone else in her grade is staying, so it's unlikely they'll be caught, but still...

Do you really want to be that weirdo getting underage kids alcohol? The moment they step foot in college, it'll be growing on trees anyway. Let them wait a year and keep your hands clean of this mess waiting to happen.

Buying booze for someone underage is illegal and if the authorities find out you will pay heavy consequences. Not only that but if they get busted they will pay too.

Its not worth it. If they insist on doing it, like all young people, let them do it without getting you involved. Be a responsible older bro and do the right thing.

Just do it. Two six-packs is nothing, and the chances of them getting caught are slim. Make her promise to not be an idiot.

Keep in mind that she'll be surrounded by liquor regardless. Buying her a few beers might prevent her from going to another room and getting loaded on jello shots.

If she has to ask you to buy it for her, she doesn't deserve alcohol. She'll get it some other way if she really wants it.

Leave two cases of beer by the back door to their house without being seen

Tell no one

Plausible deniability

Or like just don't do it if you're that worried about it

What's senior week? Some sort of class trip? If that's the case I would say no.

But Valhelm also raises a good point. Chances are she'll drink regardless.

Meh, as long as no one is driving go for it.

Basically.

Americans have weird relationship with youth drinking. It's why binge college drinking is a thing.

Alcohol is this taboo thing so I must do it!

Let them learn how to handle drink.

This, you can always say she stole it.

They're going to get booze anyway, this is one of the less risky/dangerous scenarios that they could get it.

They're going to have unlimited access, especially as girls, to all the binge booze they could want when summer is over and they go to college (assuming they are going to college) anyway.

If I were in your situation, I wouldn't do it. It doesn't matter if you think your sister or her peers are mature or aren't likely to get into trouble, as proven time and time again teens can be idiots. I personally wouldn't want any culpability with any possible consequences.

There's a pretty radical difference between letting your kid have a drink at dinner and providing booze for a party.

Could you be charged for it? Probably if your sister rats you out.

But she could have stolen it from you.

I don't drink, or really know about the penalties of this, but I can't imagine it comes back to you in a bad way.

But it's probably just not worth doing.
