Sledgehammer Says COD: AW Visuals So Good You Won't Be Able to Tell It's A Game

Good luck with that Condrey

Holy shit, somebody used hyperbole as a means to convey the essence of a feeling! I bet that mythical person he proposed might be viewing this game and thinking it's "from tv" doesn't even exist. He's a liar.

Where is the turian counselor when you need him? These ridiculous claims must be dismissed. Like seriously Sledgehammer, don't go full Molyneux before we even get to know you.

Haha, I didn't think about that, but it if pretty funny.

"You won't be able to tell the difference between this game and murdering people in real life!"

Or what theyre acutally saying "You wont be able to tell the difference between this game and watching people get murdered on tv!", likely still bullshit, but an order of magnitude less

I've only watched the trailer once, but I was confused during this part. Is that the ground above them? So the soldier's are upside-down within this droppad? So they make a hard landing directly onto the glass? So then they're upside-down as they struggle to get out?

It's an overhead screen. Worst. Ergonomics. Ever. More to the point, this is just Activision attempting to rip off a little bit (more) of Titanfall's design language. Screens-with-obvious-seams-in-them are apparently going to be mandatory in all future combat games this generation.

I am ON BOARD with this game.

I've always wanted to get into a CoD, and I was going to go in with Ghosts but ended up getting Battlefield 4 instead.

Won't be buying another Battlefield game ever, so CoD it is.

I think the graphics look great. But I'm not stupid, I can tell it's a game.

Also, considering I had no idea what kind of visual fidelity we'd get from current gen since I was never a PC gamer and played consoles exclusively, I'm far more prone to being 'blown away' by current gen graphics. Having said that I'm really looking forward to seeing how it looks upon release. Can't wait, really.

On the overall subject, I'll show you guys what Sledgehammer's comment about Advanced Warfare reminded me of:

Sony's Kutaragi said that a Sony Computer Entertainment engineering team based in Tokyo is working on a whole new generation of real-time image-rendering technologies, from silicon to platform algorithms to software titles, for the next Playstation. "Today's videogame computer graphics look like computer graphics," he said. "Our goal is a filmlike graphics quality that won't make viewers conscious of or annoyed [by the fact] that they are indeed looking at computer graphics."

they also said ghosts was on a next gen engine as well.

the fact is it is the same engine and they can talk and talk how much of the code they have changed and built etc. Regardless, it is the same engine. Until they go and build a new engine with a new name I will not believe them.

We can see the differences so who cares? Clearly the new/updated engine is taking advantage of the new consoles better.

Good facial textures are no good without the rest of the environment being perfect. I have no doubt there will be still publicity images that look amazing, but the game will still look like a game.

The graphics were pretty impressive, and at certain times, in the drop pod, or in the opening scene wallking out of the pod, it had that "CGI Movie Scene" look to it, with the lighting. Which was good looking.

But overall, no the game won't look photo real. It will have a realistic look however, just like MW1-2.
