Amazon is going hard these days with those deals. Too bad they still suck for release day delivery.
Huh? I've done it three times now, and they've always come on release day. No complaints from me.

Galaxy 2 ordered, Ill probably use that $20 towards Other M. Thank you Amazon.

...Unless Toys R Us offers a $25 gift card again...

This whole promotional credit scheme is brilliant on their part. They've been stringing me along release by release for like a year now because of these things. I guess I'll go ahead and pre-order SMG2 using my God of War 3 credit now. I need all the deals I can get too, with 3D Dot Game Heroes, Galaxy, Sin and Punishment 2, and Other M on the horizon. Spring/Summer is packed this year.

Oh it looks like MGS Peace Walker now has a $10 GC offer as well, for those interested. I think thats new as well right?

Just going by first-hand experience from a few months back, specifically the ODST release. Either way, on time, or a day late, it'll be stupid if I didn't save myself 20 dollars from my next game purchese.

Ugh if I do this then I have to get SC II from Amazon...
I can't afford to wait an extra day or two though if it comes late. :[

It'd be nice if Amazon.ca followed suit and offered a similar promotion as well. They have in the past for some games but sometimes they do and sometimes they don't.

I don't see the GC, but assume will get anyhow.

Ordered back in Oct when the ECA codes were still working or w/e and was in my Amazon deal so it was already down to like 40 bucks, and now $20 gift card which will most likely go to either Metroid or Sin and Punishment now.

What?

I've ordered like 6-7 games from them this year all with release date delivery and they've all been there waiting for me when I get home.

But yuh, thanks for this Reach ordered.

Wait..is there not an option for release date delivery for Reach? All I see is 1 day delivery?

I made the huge mistake of pre-ordering from Walmart. I was gonna use the (online only) credit towards a Nintendo points card, but they were out of that and everything else I wanted through the online store. And canceling is a huge headache, which may not even work out.

I was worried Amazon wouldn't follow suit and the deal wouldn't last that long, but I should have known better.

The problem with Galaxy 2 is that it comes out on a Sunday so no day 1 delivery. I'm weak, I can't wait until Monday to play my most anticipated game of the year.

It will eventually get release date delivery, I'm almost 100% confident that it will. Also when it does, all you have to do is change the shipping method.

This far out they never have it listed as an option. It'll become available closer to release day and you'll just need to update your order.

The base price will probably come down a bit before release too.
I've never seen the base price go down after Amazon has offered a credit promo. In fact, with Battlefield 2 they had it listed at ~$56 and then when they offered the $20 for that their price expectedly went up.

Are these limited time offers, or will they be available until each game releases?
They generally (I like that word, haha) are available until release but not always. You may as well order now since the games don't come out for a while and you aren't charged until they ship.

I've had a pre-order to giftcard chain going for like 4 months now :lol I've probably saved a good $100+ on new games purchases since October too. I luvz Amazon.

In the near future, when the Enclaves of Amazon, Google, and Apple conduct their inevitable land war in North America, I shall side with Amazon.

Why Amazon's release day delivery sucks: UPS. I work during the day (shocker!) and they won't deliver it without a signature.

Nice deal. Amazon rocks.

Might use it on SMG2 because that will take forever to drop in price anyway.

Then again, I did get SMG1 brand new for like $25 at Amazon.

Can't you have it delived to where you work? That's what I do.

I saw this on CAG earlier. I almost did it, but then I looked at the release schedule and there's nothing really coming out after Galaxy that interests me. If it were $20 off the top or a regular amazon credit or even an mp3 credit I'd definitely bite, but I'm going to have to pass on this one.

I could try, but I work in a giant facility where trucks go in and out all day... the likelihood of it finding itself to my department the same day is low.

The problem would be solved if Amazon took Apple's lead and had a form you could print out and sign beforehand, tape it to your door, and have it delivered. I've tried writing a note and signing it before but UPS won't accept that.

Just file an exception with UPS to drop stuff without signature. In fact, I order so much shit via UPS (Amazon whore and Prime member here) that they are the ones that gave me the form without prompting.

My hood is safe and I work from home so it's no prob for me.

That would be fantastic if possible. I'll check into it.

Why am I not seeing release date delivery as one of the shipping options?

Game is released on a sunday (I think)

This is such a great deal for what will probably be yet another Nintendo evergreen title, thus won't drop anytime soon. Thank you amazon! Just going to get the free saver shipping though, not really in a rush to get it, this isn't DAY ONE MUST HAVE like SSF4 is!

MGS Peace Walker for PSP also has a $10 added as well

Really, we should be thanking Walmart. Amazon is usually kind to offer $10, but because Walmart is offering $20 credit for both games, Amazon matched them.

that reminds me. If you hate Amazon for some reason, you can get the same deals at Walmart.
