So I sold my Vita in order to buy a 3DS-XL.

Chicago-ish?
First, let me just say that I love the Vita. I think it's a fantastic system with a lot of potential. Hopefully, with the right business management, it can grow to prosper as a successful console one day.

When I bought a Vita, I felt like I was doing it more to make a point, rather than buying it because I really wanted one. I thought, hey Sony needs my help here, and I love Sony, so let me show them some support. I bought one before the PS1 support/PS+ was patched in, so I was mainly playing Hot Shots Golf and Gravity Rush. The wait for something more to show up wasn't bothering me, mainly because I was distracted by PC/Console games.

Fast forward a year later, and I feel like its time to move on. I've watched the 3DS get so many amazing games these past couple months, and the forecast looks even better. The Vita just hasn't found its footing yet. I hope it does though. I'll be more than happy to buy one again if/when Sony turns it around.

I'll be buying the 3DS-XL Animal Crossing bundle. Having never played an Animal Crossing game, I'm excited to see what all the fuss is about.

With luck maybe there'll be a new iteration of the Vita by the time you decide to hop back on the train.

why wouldn't you wait for E3? Sony has already announced a few games in just the last week like Freedom Wars/Panopticon, Yakuza, and Rayman Legends.

yah man get that poptart.

lol I already own a 3DS with the poptart preordered.

Now I should have bought a Vita with that money since I own a 3DS already but hey common sense doesn't exist in my family.

why not both broke ass?

Woah, see ya :p

Anyway, more on point. I can understand people being let down with Vita's lineup. I think both have great games, just for different tastes. Vita has some real quality stuff coming. Anyway, not everyone can afford both ;) So, enjoy man.

Reasonable choice. Much more accessible library, and a lot of certain games you can anticipate in the future.

I really want to try animal crossing, but I've been told that it is a game where you have to work to pay a debt. I already do that in real life!

Anyways, while I'd probably agree that the 3DS is in a better position for the future I'm still very excited to buy myself a white Vita sometime this summer. There's more than enough intriguing games for me and PS+/Cross Buy is an incredible deal.

Hope OP can get himself a Vita again soon enough :)

I already have a freaking XL and I'm getting the Animal Crossing bundle before I get a Vita.

I have issues :(

Ooook?
3DS is a great device, I think the XL is horseshit to be honest, but that is just me.
You will enjoy it, Animal Crossing....well there are many better things out there for the 3DS for you to sink time into. Have mine with me almost everywhere.(I am a tag whore)
Vita though, would not trade for anything. And still think it has some tricks in it.

This comment is totally unnecessary.

Anyway, you made a great choice OP. It's weird though, because when I bought my 3DS, we had topics similar to what the Wii U has now, and people on this board really made me regret my 3DS purchase. I even thought about selling it to buy a PS Vita, but I'm glad I didn't. Fast-forward to today, and I'm very happy with my 3DS, and am swimming in a pool of quality software. I hope the same thing happens for the Wii U.

I know how you feel, I just bought a 3DS XL myself, being dissatisfied with the Vita's library.

I didn't sell my Vita, since I wouldn't get anywhere near what I paid for it, and there is always the chance it will see an uptick of support.

Timing I guess. When something comes out that I can't not have, I pick one up again.

I needed money for the 3DS, and the 3DS looks way better atm.

My advice is to never do this for any company ever. Sony is a multi-million dollar corporation, they shoud be the last ones to get pitty cash from us common folk.

Haha I don't know why this was so perfect.

But yeah, Animal Crossing? Any reason why? I mean I love AC but you have to know what you're in for....it's a boredom-killing game where you do other boring tasks in a virtual world with colorful animals so you fill up your boring time with tedious tasks to distract yourself from all the...boredom.

Bought a 3ds a couple of days ago, I am loving it. It's an affordable way to play quality first party nintendo titles.

I don't feel too bad.

Even if Nintendo announces a super 3DS, I wouldn't give two fucks cuz I got my poptart 3DS homeboi.

Now if Sony announces a Vita with a better battery, slimmer, all that then I guess I'm glad I waited? heh.

________

anyway I don't see how it's a bad decision on OP's part.

The 3DS has a killer line up for the rest of the year, never mind the killer shit that got released during Feb-Apr (ETRIAN ODYSSEY IV). Which system has SMTIV again? Yeah.

I feel like the Vita has too much value with PlayStation Plus, but I can understand your decision. Now that Soul Sacrifice is out, there isn't much to look forward to. Let's hope that changes after E3.

Neither of my portables see much play, but I've had more fun with Fire Emblem than any other title on the Vita. I'm still keeping it since I have P4 in the backburner, plus I'm looking forward to playing Dragon's Crown via remote play whenever it comes out.

Sometimes it's just impossible to keep both. For example, let's say I want to buy a Vita now (since I do want one at one point in the future). I would have to sell my 3DS to be able to afford it. Not everyone has the economic resources to buy everything, so something has to go.

Animal Crossing is boring. You made a poor decision.

But you're Wario. When has Wario cared for other Nintendo franchises that aren't his own?

Just keep in mind that no one really knows why Animal Crossing is awesome. It just is, but some people can't see that.
