So long story short, I have been unemployed about two months now and I got a third interview at a place at 3 today and the interview is supposed to last over an hour. I tried to get it to be earlier but that was pretty much their only available time. The thing is that we have a wedding to attend to and while we weren't planning on going to the ceremony, what was supposed to be our ride is now planning on leaving at 3pm so now she is super angry at me for even allowing this interview to take place and she is rushing to rent a car since it is about an hour away from where we are and public transportation won't take us there. I called to reschedule and they pretty much said that today was going to be a job offer but they can see if they can reschedule it. She said for me to go ahead and go to the interview for she is going to rent a car now and doesn't want her to be the reason why I didn't get a job. I called back to say that I can come but it was a voicemail so I left a message.

Now if she still breaks up with me, should I still accept the job? The only reason why I am here is because of her and would just move back to Texas. Does calling them hurt my chances for this job anyways? I know during the interview I am not going to bring my A game for it anyways. I am still going to the wedding now to try and work it out but I am not sure what I should do. Thanks for my rant. I have to leave for the interview in 30 minutes.

You must be leaving a lot out because nothing you've said sounds like signs of her breaking up with you.

Yeah, I probably will and try to work it out. However she said she doesn't want to see me and wants me out of the apartment. I will see how her mood is tonight.

So you're running late because of a job interview and you think this for sure leads to a breakup? What kind of relationship are we talking here.

Maybe you guys weren't meant to be. Your relationship must have already been on dangerously shaky ground for this to mean the end. Go get the job.

lol at leaving this out.

I still doubt she breaks up with you. People say crazy shit when they are mad. She's not going to break up with you before a wedding unless you do something horrible.

Priorities should be:

Getting to your interview > Getting to the wedding > Talking to your girlfriend after the wedding to clear up why you think she is breaking up with you.

Why do you assume she is breaking up with you exactly?

I can understand why she might be angry but she shouldn't be angry at YOU, she is telling you to go to the interview after all and is scrambling to try to make it work. I'm not sure if she is planning on driving you or what?

She's not breaking up with you. She's just hurrying to get to the ceremony. Chill out, you're gonna rock that interview and get that job.

Is your relationship hanging by such a thin rope already that being late to a wedding will end it? I think you're overreacting. Go get your job, give her a sincere apology and flowers, set some time aside to explain yourself later, and don't worry about it.

Then break up with her and go to the gym because there's no saving the relationship.

I was wondering where you been AU, I don't even know how to answer those questions they seem like only ones you know the true answer to...If this girl is the love of your life and you feel as though she's the only one then it would be near impossible to convince you otherwise; however, if she's so ready to go at the drop of a hat then maybe it's time to start thinking about going back to Texas if that's where you want to be

We have been together for 4 years and usually its been good but sometimes she will have mood swings of anger for she thinks that I should be more adult and I don't use my head for things like this.

This situation seems like a perfectly reasonable thing for her to be frustrated about, and a job interview seems like a perfectly reasonable thing to miss a wedding for if you're not confident about your ability to reschedule it.

Dunno why that'd be the end of a relationship, though.

I did notice this, however:

Now if she still breaks up with me, should I still accept the job? The only reason why I am here is because of her and would just move back to Texas.

If you really have nothing tying you to where you're living except a significant other, part of me wonders whether you might not really be happy in your relationship and/or current home.

We have been together for 4 years and usually its been good but sometimes she will have mood swings of anger for she thinks that I should be more adult and I don't use my head for things like this.

I've been married for six years, and my wife still gets super pissed at me for doing dumb shit that inconveniences her, like not thinking to book a hotel when I went down to San Diego to see my dad while he was in town. (We had to drive 1.5 hours back home that evening after spending not much time in San Diego, and she had been working most of the day up to that point.)

So I sleep on the couch sometimes, not a big deal.

Yo what. This is not just about the work thing that happened today, homie. There's got to be more at play.

I've been busy applying to jobs lately and was working on my direct animation feature which would have been done by now if I wasn't forced to leave my job and try to get other work.

Sounds just like she was upset, but beware of:

EDIT :::::

Just saw the "out of the apartment" bit. Maybe she's just upset and saying hurtful things. You'll have to wait and find out for sure later. GL with the Job.

Sorry for leaving stuff out, I had to vent out information. I have grown to like New York now and I do many cool things I want to with film here now and have made new friends but I miss all my old friends in Texas.

Knock the job interview out of the park and try your best to make up with her afterwards. If you know she tends to get angry, well it's probably best to try to manage that while you get your other shit together. Whatever you do try to get that job.

Its weird but we have the same taste in everything but she gets upset that she doesn't think I am adult enough and should be acting more of my age.

Being an adult isn't really about just doing adult things. You can shit your pants and file your taxes, no problem. Most of acting like an adult revolves around knowing when to be serious and when to joke around. If you're REALLY good at it, you can make jokes while being serious. that's where a mastery of sarcasm comes in.

That said, don't be sarcastic to your girlfriend. Not right now, anyway.

If this is the worst fight you've ever had, you have it fucking easy. I've been through much worse relationship ordeals. This? This right here is Mickey Mouse type shit.

I'll see how she is tonight however I found a flight tomorrow for 72 dollars. Can I still collect New York Unemployment if I am in Texas?

A flight to what? You're planning on actually leaving?

Honestly, if this is truly what causes you to break up with her the relationship was unsalvageable in the first place. But don't go overthinking an emotional outburst too much. Apologize and explain, have a great time at the wedding together. Done.

Sounds like your relationship is unbalanced and she's putting you down a bit with the whole 'act your age' line.

And then bail into your own place.

Sounds like the relationship could be a little rocky, or that she could be prone to outbursts. Either way, when you've been out of work for a few months, priority is getting employed over meeting a social engagement.

...don't you...think you should see if she's actually breaking up with you before you check prices for plane tickets back to Texas?

Also, in regards to your OP post she kind of seems like she's being unreasonable? I know weddings are special but you said so yourself you guys weren't planning on going to the ceremony to begin with and this hullabaloo only started once your ride decided to leave at 3pm. Job interviews are important. Moreso if you've been unemployed for several months and she's riding your ass for not "being more adult". Getting a job is an adult thing to do, isn't it...?

I just don't know.

A flight back to Texas. Yeah, I don't do well with break-ups usually. Who does? Whenever a girl did break up with me, I drop contact with them and move on. Maybe this relationship isn't salvageable and I didn't realize that. I just got a phone call that the interview couldn't be moved anyways. It looks like I am for sure going to that then.

Not gonna be able to keep the GF without a job anyways

In my experience codependence can strain a relationship in many ways

Im surprised she is mad at all... Job prospects seem way more important... Unless its some crappy job you could get at any time

I'm sorry but employment kinda comes first, if shes pissed that you are making an effort to work, she isn't worth keeping around...not to mention the "act your age" crap, get the job and then upgrade to a better woman.

Wait until you are actually broken up before you move 7 states over maybe? Sounds like you are searching for an out...

Wait, it's been 4 years since you've been together and you're just going to leave without being sure if she's actually breaking up with you?

I think you should at least talk to her first.

If it's a good prospect the interview is obviously far more important and she should know that given that you've given up your old job and home for her.

But I get the feeling you seem to be jumping the gun quite a bit? Obviously you know her better then us though...
