this past week there has been a cat outside my apartment and i been feeding him milk and some food

he's really cool but too bad i can't let him in my apartment








what should i do?

should i just kill it?

It could just be a neighbour letting his cat out for the night. Unless you have reason to believe it is lost, don't take it in.

Most apartments don't allow them anyway..

If it doesn't have a collar, and it looks like it doesn't, then it would be right to take it to a shelter if you don't want it hanging around.

i don't recommend feeding milk. just go with clean water. most cats are lactose-intolerant, contrary to popular thought. also milk sitting outside could go bad.

First, yeah, water... not milk. Milk = pukey, mudbutt cat.

Second, umm, you fed him, so, like it or not, you have a pet cat now... even if he stays outside. Food is home for most animals. Good thing it wasn't a bear.

Step 1. Find a box, any medium sized box will do, and 2 plastic containers.
Step 2. Stuff the box with some old cloth/paper/whatever. Insulate it.
Step 3. On the box write, "Cat looking for home (Not for eating)"
Step 4. Fill one container with water and one with leftovers you have in the fridge.
Step 5. Bring box along with both containers outside, make sure you bring your camera.
Step 6. Take pictures to post on GAF.
Step 7. Enjoy your seat in Heaven

Odd that the cat has no collar, it's fur is pretty clean and the eyes are sharp. A little on the thin side, I'd think he/she was recently abandoned. Cats that have gone feral for a long time don't fare so well around humans but this one didn't seem to mind you taking pictures of it.

Make a "FOUND: Cat" poster?

you don't know if he has had his shots and stuff, he probably needs some care. Besides, someone who can better care for him will adopt him and give him a proper home. Its not rocket science.

It seems like it's not feral. Feral cats do tend to be really, really shy.

How friendly is it? Just because it doesn't have a collar doesn;t mean somebody doesn't own him. One of mine doesn't have any because he always losses them each week, it's expensive. to replace them after 3 days at 3 bucks a pop.

Where do you live anyway? That suspiciously looks like my cat(the one without the collar).

give it a temporary home, but throw up an ad in the local paper or be on the lookout for signs.

worst case, take it to an animal shelter, should you not want to keep it. it's cute enough someone will take it.

If you're serious about taking care of him, try to get a hold of some Advantage so he won't be crawling with fleas (don't use Hartz, Hartz can kill).
