So what do we Vita owners have to look forward to this E3?

E3 week flash sale

I doubt we even get that. Vita games that go on sale nowadays are so few and far between.
There's been flash weeks with more PS3 games. You'd think with the system being in such a state there would be more fire sales for the game to the people who do still play it regularly.

I expect them to say the word Vita no more than five times during the entire conference. Nearly every one of those mentions will be preceded by "coming for PS4 and a digital release on."

I wouldn't be surprised if it isn't mentioned at all.

I expect nothing and I'll still be disappointed.

I expect a large portion of Vita devs will move to the Switch within the next year.

I'm expecting Sony to answer to the Switch, possibly announce 1 or 2 first-party ports to advertise their presence in the handheld market and demonstrate the PS4-Vita Wifi connection (read quite a few successful accounts of Persona 5 owners using it flawlessly)

yeah so you are either completely ignorant about how Sony treats the vita at E3or you're just trolling

this gif is how sony has treated the vita for years at e3

Pretty convinced this is just an elaborate troll at this point.

E3 has not been kind to the Vita in the past. Even in it's 'prime' Sony almost completely ignored the Vita at E3 save for right after it was released.

E3 is not, nor has it ever been, the place to look for Vita announcements.

Dude, there's no way Sony has a Switch answer this quickly, much less a library for it, or anything ready for E3.

Also you're assuming Sony wants to make an answer for the Switch.

I'd agree except that if they mention DanganRonpa V3 on stage, they'll have to mention either that a) it was a Vita franchise or that b) a Vita version exists. So basically, I'm just hedging my bets.

Should have pocketed that memory card money and put it toward a Switch or a memory card for Switch

Edit:

Ok, now I get it. This thread is a joke post. Got it. Took me a while

Not really.

I mean, I know support for the thing is winding down, and I purchased the memory card mainly for PS1 classics, but that's not all I got it for.

Probably some decent indie games like Stardew Valley, Rime, Yooka Laylee...

Oh wait, that's the Switch.

It got declared a legacy device like 2 years ago and you expect 1-2 first party games? lol

Sorry OP you're not realistic.

lololololol......Vita is dead to Sony for a very long time. Vita won't get any love. Even in some bizzaro world where Sony had "some" plans for the Vita on stage, they probably quickly said, fuck it, scrap the 2 minute sizzle reel of indie games and add those 2 min. to the 30 minutes Destiny 2 demonstration.

Video game hardware prices have gotten so weird. A Switch is 100 bucks more than a Vita but way beefier, yet way less beefy than a PS4, which costs like 50 bucks less!

anyway vita's dead

Stealth brag thread about how you could afford a 64GB mem card. Look man, you don't need to rub it in the face of us 99%ers.

Anyway, to answer your question: J.JonahJamesonLaugh.gif

Sony's only answer to the Switch would be "Yes" if the question was "would you like to port some of your Vita games in the Switch"

I DIDN'T SAY *NEW* 1ST PARTY GAMES.

I know Sony isn't supporting this device with new games. But what's unrealistic with a port announcement, especially since new games are still being announced for it by third parties.

But whatever, mod please lock this thread because it's already gone sideways.

As a vita owner I do not expect anything. Hell I was at gamestop over the weekend near me. I could not find anything vita related. It was like it never existed.

Launch aside, E3 has never been particularly notable for the Vita. If you want an event, there's pretty much always more Vita announcements coming out of game publisher panels at Anime Expo.

Genuine question. When did the most recent first party Vita title get published, port or otherwise?

Here, I've grabbed a list:

In actual seriousness I think we're getting some Otome games? I vaguely remember them being announced but I have no idea what they are or even if they've come out yet.

What are some new VNs supposedly coming out, by the way?

Atlus is putting out Utawaresomething and I'm pretty excited for it. Never heard of it before but it's a solid SRPG VN hybrid.

They'll have a trailer or two for Vita games, on their website, way below their PS4 trailers.

If they even say the word Vita at their conference it will be a quick throw away line "also on Vita" "'member remote play"

Doesn't Sony love displaying things at E3 years before it's ready? If they DO have an answer they're willing to bet on, they'll at least give a little teaser for something that might be coming in 2019.

What does Vita mean anyway.

Life!!!!
....support. Never gets old.

Oh that might appear, but I dunno why it would appear for the Vita, that's a PS4 game.

Well it's coming to Vita as well, so there's that at least and I would imagine a lot of people will actually play it on Vita compared to PS4. Considering that 1 and 2 became cult games on Vita.

The Sony that has sold 60 million PS4s isn't going to go chasing the Switch.

Honest question, why would you expect Sony, who declared this a legacy console years ago, spend money to port things to the Vita?
