WOW. I've never seen anything like it. Granted I've been out of the skating scene for a while but keep in touch from time to time, but this blew my mind away. Very satisfying seeing something different. The video editing, style, and the creative grinds make this very fun to watch.

that was incredible -- any idea what the goop he was putting on the rail was? been a while since i skated and this makes me keen as all hell to get back out there!

Pretty much yeah, extra bonus for using lube instead of candle!
Also, check Richie Jacksons part from the new Transworld movie And Now?

Pretty cool. Horrible editing and filming though. Was it really necessary to use a fisheye lens with the camera pretty much on the ground for 90% of the shots?

Looked like it was just wax. If no one has skated on the rail before, which it looked like, it's not as smooth the first time around. Definitely a cool video but I wouldn't say the most creative.

No, not a joke. Why would it be? Is fisheye lens/camera on ground considered good filming by the skateboarding crowd or something?

Eh, you see it in videos a lot. It's become pretty standard.

That's what happens when you don't have any "real" skating spots around. You have to get creative. When I skated, my friends and I were always doing weird stuff like that. Not that advanced obviously.

Awesome stuff. That guy must hurt himself a lot though, doing unconventional grinds like the chain. When he ate that concrete block, I actually recoiled back in my chair.
