Yep! I tutored a few kids who really seemed to love this game despite how bad it was. Loved the final story too. Not. Kidding. For some of them, it was their first game and they really liked it. Perhaps they'll learn if SEGA stays on this trend of developing good Sonic game/if they try out some older titles with an open mind, or when they grow up a little. To be fair to them, there may have been some bad games out there that we probably liked when we were younger.

I could never beat Robotnik in Labyrinth Zone as a kid. I was in awe when I discovered the stage select cheat and saw there were 2 more zones after it

Has anyone considered that HD Generations will be the first time that Sonic Team has taken it upon themselves to develop a more traditional 2D platforming Sonic since the 90s? Dimps handled Sonic 4 and every portable 2D game that wasn't on a Sega system, including 3DS Generations.
...
It'll be very interesting to see if they still have any creative juice in them for level design.

Realizing all the key personnel from the early days are gone, but still.

Crush 40 performed Sonic Boom at some Sonic convention not too long ago. If that's any indication, we might be seeing some Sonic CD representation.

In the form of a stage? Possibly, but I highly doubt it. They may pull some sound effects, animations and even some music from CD (this is the anniversary game after all), but when it comes to stage remakes they'll be playing it safe, and there's nothing safe about that game.

A week or so ago TSSZ got a tip from someone they 'feel very comfortable trusting'. This is the supposed final level list for Generations:

Sonic 1 – Green Hill *
Sonic 2 – Chemical Plant
Sonic 3 and Knuckles - Sky Sanctuary
Sonic Adventure – Speed Highway
Sonic Adventure 2 - City Escape *
Sonic Heroes – Seaside Hill OR Casino Park / Bingo Highway
Sonic 2006 – Crisis City
Sonic Unleashed – Spagonia / Rooftop Run Day *
Sonic Colors – Planet Wisp

This is quite possibly the most depressing list I've ever...

They 'merged' S3 and S&K, and only picked a level from it. Why choose Bingo highway OR Seaside for that matter? No Sonic CD? I'm extremely disappointed with this.
