Coinciding with their string of legendary conferences LOL. That was like the first sign of something going on at E3 2015 rofl.
Is he back already? I thought his break was a bit longer.
I agree, don't rush him (but keep it moving so that there's no repeat of what happened with SSM/Stig's game), let him build something huge for early PS5.
I think he left for his sabbatical right after UC4 shipped. So I think he's back.

Yes it's a floor pass which gets you in Tuesday-Thursday which is the floor portion. This does NOT get you into their actual press briefing

.And ya first 1000 consumers was $149 and everyone after that up to like 15,000 was $249. They been "sold out" of consumer passes though so good last minute chance if anyone wants to go

I'm honestly expecting that to be delayed to sometime in 2018. They just haven't shown much of anything for it so far and we're already halfway through the year.

I'm liking what seems to be water tight controls on leaking games or announcements this year. I remember last year we had spidey leak a few days before it was debuted at the conference. However this year we have had only the bare minimum hints and leaks, (and no juicy poems), no real meaty info has been shared so far by an insider.
I'm keeping my hype levels well in check , but they are slowly rising and probably reach peak levels if this level of near radio silence continues until the conference itself. SIE is currently 4-0 for great to legendary conferences so far, can't help but imagine they are fully capable of delivering number 5, especially in the face of the comp this year.

Why do people think Straley is back? There is no evidence to point at that being the case, I recall hearing he was essentially taking a 'gap year'. If he has returned, then jump the dude onto TLOU II because Druckmann being in charge alone is a horrible thought.
Or maybe Straley wants to work on something new?

I remember he's been quoted saying that trailers are his way of putting pressure on his team to deliver. He loves to take and frame whatever WIP products his team has at the point of time, edit and polish the content of choice so as to basically tell the team "that's the target render in tone and quality. Hit it."
Tldr; he's in love with editing trailers and keeping up the marketing cycle. Most devs loathe having to get involved in marketing cycles that affect the development of the game, but Kojima is as much a marketer as he is a developer.

Yea, I'm gonna be tired of seeing the game as well if we just get another trailer. If he's going to drop trailers on us, I'd like a year gap at least. If the game was closer to release I wouldn't mind, but it's a ways off.

I dont think Bluepoint are remaking Shenmue. It is too much work. You'd have to re-create 200+ unique characters, each with their daily schedule, re-record all spoken dialogue that finds a balance between the campy English dub and something modern audiences will find acceptable, integrate all hidden scenes and secrets, and combine all with Shenmue 2 so that it is now one game as it was originally meant to release as,and re-creating Shenmue 2 would be a real doozy, this isnt to mention the fact that fans would be kind of sour that Yu Suzuki wouldnt be involved with or directing the project, as he cant as he's too busy workng on Shenmue 3.
A Shenmue remake is therefore too unrealistic a project to unveil. At most, Remasters will be announced. Maybe with a rewritten engine to negate any license issues.

My hope is that it releases in December. And that Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is also December. So that Christmas lasts all of December and spills into January.

So, is anyone planning on going for media blackout before E3? I will after tommorow. Last year, during the week before E3 we had so many leaks that this year i decided to go totally unspoiled. Truth is, i am not expecting many things from this year's E3 and i have low expectations but still i want to try at least one time to stay away from forums and websites during the pre E3 week.
I always mean to, but I'm too weak and end up reading everything, haha.

It's been in development for about 18 months with a preexisting engine and full support from Sony. Koji should be able to cobble together a minute or two of gameplay footage for E3.
The leaks, rumors, and the meltdowns they inspire are part of the fun! Adds to the built-up.
