Yep, movie is gonna be all CGI.

It's a match made in Turd Heaven.

That said - I'd rather watch a MGS movie any day of the week over attempting to play through one of Kojima's contrived stinkers.

Now if they ever show big boss now we all know who is the perfect actor for it.

Losar. They have no resemblance at all...They should just use the MGS4 engine and upgrade everything. Its not like the MGS4 engine doesn't look perfect anyways.

So Konami is making a MGS movie, instead of Castlevania? Hope it doesn't turn out like Van Helsing.

This should be Snake or the Professor:

If they actually go live action, it'll be a disaster. CGI fanservice ala Advent Children is as far as a MGS movie should ever go IMO.

This movie will have to stray as far away as possible from the games if it wants a chance of being anything other than high camp.

And this is coming from a hardcore MGS fan.

For the guys saying Christian Bale, you might want to check out his upcoming movie Rescue Dawn. Military badassness.

As much as I love Bale, I'd rather see Hugh Jackman in the role.

snake total.

Although to be honest both actors deserve better. :P

Thank god no one here is a casting agent. Oh man there are some awful "choices" here.

Naturally, none worse than actually trying to make this into a film. :lol

What other projects have you heard him where you could judge his range?

None. Because he is a bad actor who can't get work outside a videogame voiceover gig. He should stick to writing, at least he's making mild headway there.

Kojima's been very protective of MGS when it comes to turning it into a film, even as far as saying he would not like it to become one.

Something is different this time, he must've had a good offer that lets him have a large amount of control over the film, so I'm optimistic about this possibility.

The problem is, if it's nothing like the game, MGS fans will hate it. If it IS a lot like the games, the public will be all, "WTF just happened at my face?." So in order for it to be good fanservice and a good movie, there will have to be compromises. Massive ones.

Yeah, Kojima said there would be massive changes if MGS were to become a film.

And I'm totally fine with it as long as those changes are his.

thank god that NON of you bastards makes movies!

there are maybe 3 people in this thread that knows who should play who, it seems that most of you guys have not even played the game as the choices of characters are totally off!

snake should be played by a guy with a rough voice, like Josh Holloway for example

Lee van cleef is a PEFECT revlover ocelot, good voice and suits the part.

Putting on a rough voice isn't difficult, and I'm sure Holloway would have more trouble losing his Southern accent for the part than a more experienced, more talented movie actor putting some gruff into his voice

Lee Van Cleef has been dead for nearly 20 years

Kojima needs to be on in advisory role, maybe a co-director at most. But people laughing at his ability to make a movie need to take a look at the games. He definately has a talent for cinematic direction. I just don't know how he'd be behind the camera as compared to being behind the game. His English isn't so great either so it'd be best left to a western director

Am I a bastard? :(

Personally, I wouldn't mind if they dubbed Snake's voice if the guy playing him didn't have a rough voice to start with.

Also, Lee van cleef is the inspiration for Revolver Ocelot so of course he's perfect :P

Maybe he was laughing at his grabbing an invisible boob gesture.

Kojima could always team up with his jap director buddy Ryuhei Kitamura (he knows English), who's had experience doing MGS stuff with Twin Snakes and has been trying to make it big in America.

Also before the Twin Snakes haters start chasing me with forks: Kitamura originally did TS' cutscenes in a more passive style like the original, but Kojima specifically instructed Kitamura to go as crazy as he wanted
