Haha, I was about to go back and quote xenorevlis' post to see if there was an update, since it's a week ago that he said that. Guess we'll see something today.

"Come on guys" what? You posted a gif with no context and no indication of what it was and didn't answer when people asked you what game it was. I'm not sure about other people, but I'm not familiar with every gif or video from every game ever; especially those which aren't yet released.
Sorry. I thought Cyberpunk would be very known here..

That thread about Media Molecule and Dreams is depressing. Some very cold posts in there :/

Though someone posted this to help shed light on their financial situation and explain why it's different than Evolution:

We do. ~£4m last year. On revenue of ~£8m. Net assets of ~£30m (see: https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/05665849/filing-history)

If anyone wants to compare to Evo's financials the last few years, they're here too:

https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/03754597/filing-history

Hint: a very different picture
Basically MM makes money and doesn't cost much to operate (as expected). Hopefully this will calm fears that they're in danger of shutting down.

And speaking of MM, I'm more than a little ready to see Dreams. Their games are a delight!

Cyberpunk 2077 from CD Projekt Red. The folk who made The Witcher 3.
I don't remember there being any animation in that trailer, just the diorama. I'm very familiar with Cyberpunk 2077 and very excited for it but as this poster said:

That teaser was shown what feels like 10 years ago, we dont all remember every single frame of it. :)
That teaser is literally over four years old. Sorry that we didn't recognize her mascara hahahaha.

What the... I NEVER knew we had access to financial results of individual studios. Is this only for the british studios ? I wonder if Guerrilla Cambridge is there, you get a shitton of results when typing "guerrilla" on the search bar.

I refuse to get excited about Dreams until they show something with real substance. I know they got the sculpting tool pretty much nailed for a long time now, but they just about didn't show anything else at all. And they skip show after show, let a whole year pass without releasing the promised beta. Remember, Dreams was part of the PS4 reveal more than 4 years back!

When they get back out all the way in the open, I will be hyped again, but small teasers don't do it for me anymore. :|

I hope Sony is taking notes, lol cuz this would be the E3 conference of the decade right here.
A good chunk of that will probably happen. I think it's too early for TLoU 2 though and I don't believe Bloodborne 2 is a thing. Another FROM reveal, Armored Core perhaps, could very well happen.

WILD THINKING (HUGE GRAIN OF SALT):
This might be related to the Sucker Punch thing but I notice that someone has trademarked this yesterday. This representative also trademarks a lot of sony stuff, for example, this http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1321841 and also by the same owner Business Solutions INTL LTD.

https://euipo.europa.eu/eSearch/#details/trademarks/016485419

EDIT: Also Computer and video games are under Good and Services.

Ok, I think I get what you are trying to say..
But my point is this. I think it was after journeys success where It's creator, jenova chan(?), wanted to part ways with the Sony partnership. Maybe it's cuz he wanted full control over development despite its success? I dunno...

Another thing, I forget the term people were using to describe this situation, is the PS4 is in a way better place than PS3 was. PSN is getting stuffed and games, mainly indies, have a limited window of opportunity to catch the eye of the consumer. There are some great games on PSN that most never even heard of. Darkest dungeon being a great example of how lost good games get nowadays.

But I do feel what you are saying and understand what you mean. Journey was amazing at the time.
the thing is when Sony signed up these smaller developers in the PS3 days, one major reason was about creating an eco-system of digital games, and to show to core consumers that you shouldnt overlook these kind of games, because clearly they were important and essential to the future market.

But they dont really need to make that monetary effort now, incredible indie games are coming to the platform more than ever and the digital front is established. Also creators have a lot of options when seeking funding for a game now, and most of them dont include giving away the IP

Now, you mention Guacamelee and Velocity, those kind of deals still exist, since they are not owned by Sony but were made through the Sony Pub Fund program. Axiom Verge, Salt & Sanctuary, Everything, Cosmic Star Heroine, Thumper (which you have as an avatar I believe) and others were all made through that program.
Valid points.

I'm pretty sure thatgamecompany was part of the 3 game contract, so they fulfilled their end of the bargain with Flow, Flower, and Journey. I don't think anyone could look back at that situation and say it wasn't a successful contract for both parties. Sony got some great exclusive titles and thatgamecompany got financial support, developmental assistance, exposure, and a steady gig that helped them become one of the most sought after indie developers. They're in a position to gain their independence because of that deal, and are poised for success with 'thatnextgame.'

Whether it is more second party deals like that, or pure first party support, I still think there is a market there, even considering the amount of indie games, developers, and publishers. Having a diverse portfolio is never a bad thing, so I think Sony should still have its own indie division. They need to be looking for talent to acquire or partner with to fill the void left by thatgamecompany.

Sony is pretty stubborn on the IP issue. I can't fault anyone who says no because they want to retain their IP.

Still I think there are a lot of great indie games and developers who get lost in the mix or don't have the resources to fully realize their visions. Prime examples: I recently played Mekazoo on PS4. It's a brilliant concept, but it runs terribly and is very rough mechanically. Had it been given proper resources for success, it could have been just as amazing as its Donkey Kong and Sonic influences. Also, I've been interested in Source since 2014, but it doesn't seem to have the manpower or moneypower to make much progress towards a release. It looks like something that would find an easy home on PlayStation and mesh well with the likes of Journey and Abzu.

Backing from someone big like Sony could help. As a longtime follower of Cuphead, I was elated when Microsoft partnered with Studio MDHR. Sure it's taking forever to release, but we are getting a game with a much larger scope and scale than was originally planned. It's basically the game they wanted to make but wouldn't have been able to without the help.

I can't complain with the amount of indie games we do see. New publishers are appearing all the time. I just think Sony, and the other console manufacturers should have their own smaller projects just as they have their own AAA products.

(And you are correct, FelipeMGM, with your Thumper avatar assumption. It's probably my favorite indie since the Velocity - coincidentally two games with ties to Sony's indie presence which is why I care so much. They tend to cater to my interests.)

Throwing out a guess that whatever it'll be will be announced in less than 10 minutes. It's almost noon in Seattle.

Remember 2010 when Sony announced LittleBigPlanet 2, SOCOM 4, Motorstorm: Apocalypse, Infamous 2 and Killzone 3 all in like the 3-4 months prior to E3?

That was weird.

I don't see Sony dropping significant AAA announcements out of the blue anymore. Makes for more interesting press conferences.
