No Heavy Rain?
Eurogamer: Obviously you're focused on the Christmas market right now, but how's Sony's 2009 line-up looking?
Shuhei Yoshida: Early next year we're releasing Killzone 2 and inFamous, and we've also been showing Heavy Rain, EyePet and MAG. So we have quite a few games already announced for release next year.
But we have some other games we haven't announced yet. As you said, we are focusing on releasing this year's Christmas titles and titles for early next year. Some time in the next year, we're going to find the right place to announce those games we haven't been able to announce.

If sony had a bad TGS then what kind of TGS did MS have? Their big announcement was Halo Recon.
And RPGs aren't huge anymore not even in Japan, if so the 360 wouldn't have sold what it did this past month what Ps3 did during Metal Gear week. And yes I know pokemon, FF, and Dragonquest are RPGs and million sellers. But those games have already been announced no other RPG is going to have their kind of impact the closest being KH3.
Stop crying because life didn't turn out like you expected if you are this dramatic about games I can only imagine your reactions to real life problems.
Who cares if a game goes multiplatform you still get to play it. Also weather or not Team Icos game was shown here or not has no bearing on when you will actually get to play it. If it was shown and not released for another 2 years you would then hear the same people bitching about vaporware and sony not delivering games and "I thought 'x' year was the year of the Ps3:this joke is tired emote:'
A lot of good games were shown at TGS but you have to realize that the Japanese have to cater to their biggest market first sans moneyhats and in that market DS is king. If you are running out to buy a DS with the money you get from selling your Ps3 then ok your bitching is understandable and probably legit. But I'm sure most just wanted a big announcement to stick in their fanboy talking point presentation.

Great post. You see 360 fanboys and pretend Sony fans (hey el Diablo) trolling this thread about how bad the Sony conference was but when you talk about the awful Microsoft conference they try to dodge the subject (hey DCharlie).

DCCharlie been here a long time. I used to just lurk at GAF, and would see his threads. I think he some kind of insider. I can't recall everything. I know he works at a game company or for a game magazine and he lives or has lived in Japan. AbortedWalrusFetus said:Well, a direct comparison may not be necessary, it's just curious that they had equivalent offerings and yet the only "flop" was on Sony's part. If anyone is bringing Microsoft up, it should be for that comparison alone, in this thread.

schuelma said:That's probably because of expectations. Microsoft celebrates when they manage to sell 7-8K a week in Japan; Sony was expected to dominate this generation in Japan. People expect more from Sony at TGS, which strikes me as pretty reasonable.
AbortedWalrusFetus said:Sony is still dominating the HD market in japan. 360 has been on top for a month, and even at the current rate it will be years before they catch up. And Sony's showings were great in that regard for the remainder of this year as well. .
schuelma said:Dominating the HD market in Japan means jack shit, no offense. You saw it at TGS- It's handhelds, then Wii, and then HD. PS3 just had its lowest weekly sales ever. It's still tracking similiarly to the GameCube.
AbortedWalrusFetus said:Obviously it means jack shit, and that's why for the life of me I can't figure out why you pointed to people expecting Sony to dominate the generation as a factor of their disappointment in TGS.

You'll quickly learn people on this forum will reach brash conclusions on whim.AbortedWalrusFetus said:Sony is still dominating the HD market in japan. 360 has been on top for a month, and even at the current rate it will be years before they catch up. And Sony's showings were great in that regard for the remainder of this year as well. The only real disappointment here on both Sony and Microsoft's sides are that they haven't showed much of what is going to happen in the longer term. It's particularly disappointing that SCEJ had nothing to show, but my guess is that this is because they didn't want to focus on the longer term for this particular show.
I'm not sure why people expect Sony to do more at a pre-holiday trade show than show off their holiday line-up and announce a few titles.
schuelma said:Because even though its clear they won't dominate Japan, people expect Sony to put up a fight.
