From German newspage heise.de, translated and in short:

"Joone, founder of Digital Playground and director of famous HD-pornmovies ("Island Fever 3") says that his company will announce products in HD from next week on. In an interview with Heise he says: "Sony wants me to relase my movies on HD-DVD."

He said that he wanted to release his movies on BluRay, but every pressroom he went to, declined the job. And they all stated that Sony forbid them to produce porn-movies on BluRay and threaten them to cancel their BluRay-licences.


Joone said that he would have loved to sell the movies to the mostly male PS3-customers.

Every HD-DVD will cost 5$ more than it's DVD-version"

To easy to get Porn on the net to care whether or not they did put it on blu-ray, and besides, 480p S'ing and F'ing is just as good as 1080p S'ing and F'ing.

I don't think HD-porn has that much power. You can still splooge in SD with DVD on blu-ray player.

VCD had the largest amount of porn but that never got anywhere outside of Asia.

Porn video is kind of annoying. Just as it gets to a good bit, the camera angle changes and you have an anti-climax.

Nothing wrong with looking at some quality picssssssssssssss.

I think this story is bullshit. Sony had no problem allowing porn on PSP, plus they have to know that porn is important when it comes to the home video market.

Can't be true, I don't see any storage format provider trying to make decisions about the content on that format. It would be suicide.

They said they didn't want it, but they did nothing to prevent it, unlike the Blu-Ray situation.

Maybe they saw some porn in Hi-Def and realized that increased resolution actually works against the genre.

It's kind of ironic, but buying a porno from a store is actually more discreet than using the internet, since there's zero privacy. Companies like Google and Microsoft and Yahoo store A LOT of stuff.

Sounds like a great way to get your Porno in the media. I call BS on the Sony porn Ban. Great move for the guy to make up this little story though they were probable just busy and his porno just wasnt worth the time.

Cable/Satellite providers are their biggest clients. Distribution over PPV and the like brings in more revenue than selling the disks. Lonely business men in hotel rooms need something to do.

Pretty much... You can find any kind of clip you want on the net... Pornotube for example... plus people can just use stuff like Limewire and such now... Personally, I think digital distribution will be massive in this movie segment...

And if what others say is correct, that there is porn already on Blu-Ray, then there's some stealth action trolling going on here... or, maybe the guys video is about *Must be 18 to read*
