Spartacus: Vengeance |OT| - The gods are ready to spread the cheeks

Historical spoilers:

After Spartacus slays Batiatus to escape, he is supposed to defeat Glabber's army in some huge battle. Virinius is supposed to take over the hunt for Spartacus, so the obvious way for that to happen is for him to hook up with Illythia after all, and keep Xena around as her aid. That gives us continuity of characters from the villain side of the show, but still follows history. After Spartacus' army beats Virinius, then Crassus will come and end things.

It seems like Glabber is done for this season. Season 3 must be Virinius' turn, and will set up for Crassus to take over in Season 4 when Virinius is defeated.

If the show ends in Season 4 then it will have had a 4.5 season run, which is just a bit less than the 5 seasons they initially wanted. Making Season 4 a few episodes longer would cover the difference.

That seems to be how it'll go except for...

I don't really know if Varinius will be the new villain, because he hasn't been established yet as a seriously evil dude or anything. Certainly not on the level of Glaber or Batiatus

And it's already confirmed that...

Ceasar and Marcus Crassus are going to eventually be in this series. I believe they have already cast them. I think in one interview they said that Ceasar will show another side to slavery, where the slaves had a little bit more respect and freedom.

First time in years I ever yelled at a television screen. That scene was all KINDS of hot.

Um, and it's Nagron

No, it's Agron :P

Check IMDB, wiki, etc.

I felt the episode was quite weak. The "reveals" were all non-shocking, the combat was stupid with the, uhm, character's power levels (Glaber watched Spartacus take out many of his seasoned veterans with a wooden sword in S1, why the hell would he fight him?), I never felt Ilithyia's life really was in danger, Gannicus just rambles around instead of telling Oenomaus what the fuck happened, the "German" makes my skin crawl (it's THAT bad), Seppia and Naveah can't act. Every new plot point feels rushed, so nothing has a big pay-off, not do I care about the new characters that aren't dead already.

Ashur-Lucretia was great, as usual, both are just fantastic characters and actors. I don't even know who should kill them. So many people have reasons to end each one, even they themselves.

I actually really loved the creators showing Andy in the flashbacks, I really felt this help bring the impact in the scenes more. Liam needs these to help cement his character in the viewers eyes imo.

Great episode.

Wonder how Illithia will react/do.

I belive she will return to Rome, plead to Villerius(spelling?) and he will move down to Capua.

Glaber will either get killed or kill jailbait.

Maybe get killed BY jailbait. Did you see her look in the bath scene?

It was full of vengeance

Agron + Nasir = Nagron. Or Agrir.

Every new plot point feels rushed, so nothing has a big pay-off

I sorta agree. Things are happening a little too quickly, and as a result, I don't think that the pay off is going to be that great. Seppius' death, for instance, was sort of underwhelming, and I think it would have had much more of an impact if that storyline had been given more time to grow.

Have to echo the sentiment that Liam finally grew into Spartacus in this episode. I haven't been bothered by him previously, but this time I was really feeling him in almost every scene.

Kinda pissed to see my boy Crixus get taken down like a bitch. Also hoping Gannicus and Oenemeus become friends again, and I think it's looking that way since the show has them talking instead of punching.

I don't swing that way but I loved that scene too, so warm and funny. Loved Agron's giggling "gratitude" to Mira.

Ashur is so freaking vile. I hope Lucretia murders him to death. Then she can move to Rome with Illythia and fulfill their true power couple status.

Agron & Nasir <3, though can we please get a full love scene for them? Glaber and Seppia do it on the daily and we've been to that damn brothel so many times this season, that I think we can get some full on lovin' between those two too.

Oh, when Agron was walking slo-mo to the wagon, I was legit worried for his life. I was like "RUN DAMMIT, RUN!!!"

Crixus hasn't been the same since Theocolese cut him down. Him being the weaker of Spartacus' inner circle isn't unreasonable.

He also has what he wants now so is maybe lacking on inspiration, he only joined up in order to find his bird and that has been accomplished he just needs some motivation.

I really dislike Naevia. She seems like she's going to stab someone innocent because she's so jumpy. I wouldn't be surprised if she kills someone by accident by the end of the season.

Yea it was kind of like, Arena Badass #1 tied to complex plot with Oenamous, Arena Badass #2 tied to complex plot with Lucrieta and Naevia, Arena Badass # 3 main character, and Agron who gets angry and makes out with Nasir.

I don't get why they didn't stab Agron coming out of the wagon instead of kicking him. If their job was to kill Spartacus, you'd think he'd come out stabbing.

They shot flashback scenes for Liam, didn't they? I didn't see Andy.

I think both Crixus and Oenameous havent looked that imposing this year. Besides for his trip into the Pits at least...
I'm hoping they get to take out Ashur and his little band

Well, considering Crixus' historical role in this rebellion
Doesn't he go borderline psycho and lead a troop of men who break off from Spartacus' main forces to basically continue pillaging Roman cities?
, I wouldn't be surprised if Naevia's death was the catalyst.

Not that I want to complain or anything like that, but this must have been the most unspectacular moment of the entire series.

Watching the newest episode and in the "previously on" there was a part where Glaber kills someone and says "your men are now mine" and shows Ashur picking up some bracelet. I dont remember that at all, when was that?

When he and Ashur's group killed Seppius and his slaves.

Ok...when was that? haha, was that last episode? The hell is wrong with my memory. I hope I didn't skip an episode or something

I believe that was at the tail end of a very recent episode. Maybe you accidentally changed the channel before the episode ended. That's a big event, so I don't see how you can forget it.

I have one last problem with the new Spartacus, he need to be more muscular! Get Docpan on his ass.

Well, he did just come from doing a role where he had to lose a lot of weight before doing Spartacus. Though I agree that hopefully he'll be a bit beefier in the next season.

New episode tonight.
Monsters

Spartacus must convince his people to unite against the imminent Roman assault. Lucretia struggles to be free from the commands of men who threaten her fate, and Glaber’s ruthlessness has consequences.

just came back from the gym and there was a guy who looked like crixus. I couldn't stop staring. Amazing body and he had green eyes with tanned skin. Swwooooooooooooooooooon <3

Not enough sex on this new series, and the sex scenes that are there are too damned short... also the new male lead is crap.

The series went from "must see" to "ill watch it if i have nothing else to watch".

If you only watch for the sex scenes I think the show is better off without you

Do you watch it for the violence?

Do you think society at large would be better off without people who get off on decapitations or without people who get off on tits?

Because, if your looking for drama, writing, or deep story arcs, this series has little of each, most of the time it´s either people killing or fucking each other.

Anyways, i don´t like answering people´s questions with another question, it´s bad form, so ill answer yours... no, i don´t watch it only for the sex, i enjoy the violence as well. :D

Are there interviews with the stars about how they feel doing all these sex scenes? I mean usually you already hear people complain if they have to do the incredible tame sex scenes that you usually see in other shows/movies.
