So, I made two quick comparisons in the direct thread and it seems they were quite appreciated and the good Jonneh3003 gave me the idea to make a thread showing the visual differences between Splatoon and Splatoon 2. I thought it was interesting because, when the first game was shown, differences weren't quite as obvious as they are now, seven months of development later.
I've tried to pick the most similar scenes to showcase the differences but it's hard sometimes. I've also tried to pick only native resolution screenshots.
It's almost impossible to find matching scenes of actual matches, so instead I'll try to showcase technical differences, like how the paint is rendered :
If I find more good screens to compare I'll add them. Finally, I'll throw some good screenshots of Splatoon 2, showcasing the texturework in Salmon Run and the new lighting :
NOTE : some of these screenshots are featuring Depth of field effects. Considering there's some sort of photo mode in the game and that I doubt there will be DoF effects during gameplay (since it would be an actual disadvantage), it's probably not something that we will see a lot in game.

Same here but with character models comparison :
Here again, character models :
