I loved Seirei no Moribito's first episode. It joins Gurren Lagann as my favorite new show of the season. Balsa is AWESOME! :D

Just watched Darker than Black...um, why all the hype?
It doesnt seem to be bad...but neither to be great.

Heroic Ages and even moreso Claymore are far more interesting, because far more, especially in the latter´s course, unique.

And ist Bokurano ep 1 already subbed?

I got a test tomorrow that I have to finish studying for, but I just watched the first episode of Tokyo Majin and I'm hooked. ****. I didn't expect it to be this good. :/

Wha? Heroic Age is good, but its not as good as the other 2 shows that you mentioned. I agree that right now Claymore is more interesting than DtB. They're close though.

Darker than Black is quite unique due to it's low-key direction and actually good storytelling, something this season only outshone by Gurren-Lagann which comes from completely different style to be honest, but it may indeed seem slow or confusing for a few people due to it's lack of dramatic emphasis.

Well, DTB felt rather not-unique. I mean...i dont know if there is a manga...if so, i dont know that one. I jsut saw the first episode and things might go up, but...it reminded me of Nighthead, only with a simpler art-direction and a rather straight-forward story.

Heroic Ages isnt unque as well, yep, but it has such an epic background, that makes up for the lack of uniqueness ^^

Yet, Claymore beats them all imo. Berserl-like mood, only with sexy girl and sympathic boy-fellow.

And i dont know if it´s this seasons, but Moonlight Mile rocks!

Just watched Gurren Lagann episode one. :D Awesome stuff. Shouta, you were right about the dialog. :lol Also good job to you and your crew, looking forward to episode two.

Bah they have really long necks and their eyes are too far apart. It suffers from bad art disease. I hope it gets more interesting down the road.

If you watched our version, I made sure to pick the right words so the sexual connotations of the dialogue would be a little more obvious. The editor helped me out with quite a bit with it too. :lol

after watching Lucky Star and Hayate, I think I will watch episode 2 of Hayate as the first episode just set things up, but Lucky Star was pretty bad.

One of my preferred groups picked up Claymore on the same day the second episode is out. I couldn't ask for more! Well, maybe I'd have been happier if they picked up DtB but oh well!

Claymore 2: zzzzzzz :\ Gonna drop it as there's just too many shows this season.

Heroic Age 2: Better than ep1 and seems like the show will be enjoyable.

Sankokushi: geneeeeric. :\

Sola 1: Not bad at all. The animation and art obviously don't compare to high level stuff like Kanon/Air, but the directing was solid and the story could be interesting. No terribly annoying characters either, so that's a plus. Music was nice.

Kissdum 2: Ok. The show isn't an AAA piece, but it's an entertaining sci-fi mecha show with lots of action, lots of the generic cast dying, and a main group that could be alright to watch weekly. Girl in the swimsuit is the only really dumb sticking point so far.

I really hope someone picks up Kissdum soon. I've been rewatching Macross so I'm in just the right mood for this.

Nope. Is there even a raw for it? I haven't seen it. :(

I'm pretty sure there are raw versions released. A Chinese group (HKG) released the first episode over the weekend already.

Gurren Lagann 01 - Very entertaining characters, love their designs. Hectic Gainax action goodness. Gives me a similar feeling to FLCL, but in a different way.

Darker than Black 01 - Interesting. The set up of the premise was done pretty well. Can't wait for the 2nd episode. For some reason this gives me "that feeling while watching anime". Last time I felt it while watching a series was Full Metal Alchemist, so I have high hopes for this one.

Best season since '04?

PN me where :-/
Just watched and cant find ep 2, only raw.

Also, where is Heroic age 2 subbed?

And i cant understand the guy who thinks Claymore suffers from bad art, while praising Darker then Black ;)

Sola 1 is also out.

What exactly is Sola about?

MasterMFauli: I don't think that;s out yet. It better not, since I want to watch Death Note 24 + 25 today.

please, be good!

Shouta: I hope your group keeps subbbing Lagaan. That was amazing.

I'm afriad to watch anymore new shows, they're all so good. I don't want to get hooked to anymore. So it's Lagaan, DtB, and Claymore for me. For those complaining about DtB ep1, don't judge until the second episode. Together (ep1/ep2) they make the pilot for the series.

Well, DtB is constructed in a 2 episode arc format so pretty much all the stories are two-parters. I still think DtB premier is pretty good by itself, low-key action anime are weird if not by Okamura.

BOKURANO 1 IS OUT SUBBED! :CAPS:

Wow, Kissdum 2 was pretty damn horrible. It has the same horrible directing that ep1 had, the animation and art was just as bad if not worse, and the story is still random and stupid. Trainwreck of the season confirmed. :lol

Your version of Lagann was awesome. While I don't understand enough Japanese to tell if the translation is more accurate, I think your release is the first anime fansub I've seen that didn't shove the subtitles on the very bottom edge of the screen. I was really happy to actually be able to watch it on my PS3 / HDTV without the subtitles being cut half off by overscan. I really wish more groups would do that, I find anime so much more entertaining on my TV rather than on my computer monitor.

We are. I'm 80% done with Episode 2 already.

I've gotten a few comments on this already. I'll tell the typesetter you like it.

Well, now it's time to start a session that will go like..

DN 24
DN 25
Claymore 2
Bokurano 1

And maybe Sola. what is it? is it worth it?

BTW... Shouta, is your version hard-subbed? I would like to rip them out and paste them on the HD-raw...

Also: KissDum is the worst looking mecha series currently airing, they're not even trying to create a decent 2D animation, especially when you compare it to Gigantic Formula or, this is a little unfair as the next name probably belongs to the anime with the best animation production currently on Japanese TV, Gurren-Lagann.

yeah, if I could do that I would, good subs + HD video would be great

Is it not too badly subbed? I prefer to wait for C1's or Animanda's versions >_>
Anyway, just finished with 25

;_;
Bible references ftw

:lol

Sorry, Gurren has nice cool art but it's only a step above post-Mahoromatic Gainax in terms of animation quality and has nothing on the animation quality of many shows this season.

Really? Like which one? I must suck at looking for good animation, because I think Gurren Lagann's awesome, at least better than what I've seen of this season (which is more than I should be watching <_<). It could be the camera, never stopping to move or the fact that it's given me a better action scene than everything last season*, but I really like it.

except for the epic Light vs. L tennis match

which group are you in? I downloaded the anime-in-action/infinite-zero version, but I haven't watched it yet

That's his version.
Claymore 2 was okay, the animation was nothing special, there was a TON of exposition, and Raki is annoying me. But it's still enjoyable. On to Bokurano.:D

Sola's 1st episode actually made me want playing the game once it's out, instead of spoiling myself further with next anime episode since the start of the story and the characters looked promising. Though everything else seem (for a bishoujo anime) typically average. Too bad actual game will be non-ero PS2 edition, boo... :lol

So wait. They wrote the anime first, then the game and the game is PS2 only?

Are you able to hold such a statement? That's extremely inaccurate considering it's the only show with real memorable movement in it’s scenes so far, with no real weak point behind the transition at all, and it’s artistic direction is way is pretty much the best since Kemonozume. Really, it’s amazing how full of interesting motions episode 2 was considering the premier was already impressive in terms of extremely well done, better than most early DieBuster at that, Gainax-trademarked bouncy super-style at whose top rested those You Yoshinari extreme speedy tides, Sushio’s expressive face alterations and even a few naturalistic yet still ad-hop examples of life like the soft feeling of heaviness in the whole scene when they ran through the caves after Yoko first appeared, although the stand out, and that’s saying a lot considering what I am comparing it too, was Hisashi Mori’s explosion, which is arguably the best explosion in anime since Blood: The Last Vampire.

It may not be very noticeable unless you watch carefully, but behind the adrenaline and entertainment Gainax is doing a visually "serious" production work, something worth of being called a true “sakuga” paradise with an all-star animator team only Dennou Coil is able to match. Tell me, other than Gigantic Formula smooth nuanced Kamichu!-like animation is there really something worth comparing to this?
