Star Wars Battlefront II |BETA| Execute Pre-Order 66

what kind of performance? on PC i get a lot of stuttering and the post game menus are so slow. also had my PC completely freeze.

Stuttering and 1 second pauses. I did a hard reset on the xbox and it seems to have helped. Not sure I'm going to play much more though - just not doing it for me. Really pretty game, but not all that much fun.

Played the first game really disliked it after awhile. Prefer this one much more.

The class balance while not as exciting is much more balanced than the jetpack and bacta bomb spam that was in the last game. Less dying by BS in this despite the grenades in this one.

The map design is pretty crap though. I don't know what DICE's obsession with having an extremely directed, "cinematic" experience with some of the multiplayer modes. It ruins the design of the maps. We'll see with the other maps on the launch though.

Even if most of the time these "betas" are just basically demos( the builds are usually older ones, a lot of the time they already know the bugs), it does a disservice to only release a few maps.

You guys are making me consider buying the first one just to see how much they have fucked up this one lol

It's included with Origin access. Worth checking out.

I can't believe they think the last few stages of the Naboo map are fun. Especially if you spawn behind the throne room and have your choice of a couple doors to walk through to your death. Spam city.

The beginning stages are way too wide, especially for the playercount. You end up being shot in the back a ton because there's more flanking routes than can be filled by normal players. It's hard to establish a front line, unlike past assault maps.

Please no.

I'm not a huge fan of this so far, but the first is infinitely worse.

It's only 'worse' in terms of a lack of content and a lack of weapon diversity. It's way more polished and a much better presentation overall compared to this game. Guns especially.

I couldn't stand the star card system, ability pickups gunplay, map design, or game mode design of the first.

Some things were beyond broken as well, I remember spawning in on the Jakku map and dying to some guy on top of the ship in the middle over and over, the moment I spawned, without moving. Dude had a score of 90+ with like 2 deaths by the time it was over because he picked up some hero character and exploited the awful map design.

I wanted to like the first one so bad, and have never felt so burned buying a game in my life. All that game had going for it was looking beautiful and having a great framerate.

The star card system here is largely the same, now with 100% more fuckery for high level players. Map design is TBD but the Naboo map is a really bad start, so that's not a good sign. Hoth wasn't nearly as bad and you could spawncamp it pretty easily.

Gunplay has taken a major nosedive apart from the variety. Feels like ass. This is my major gripe with the game right now. The TTK seems... okay? I guess. But fights feel really inconsistent.

And you can still cheese plenty with the heroes, even with their health 'nerf'. If you have a force user you can play conservatively and nobody can really kill you. It takes a level of coordination beyond a random pickup game. I picked my spots with Rey and the only threat was someone playing Maul specifically coming after me.

I'd like the presentation and gunplay of the first with the variety of the second, with maps from neither.

I think the graphics are great, especially when you consider everything that is happening on screen (at least in Baboo).

With that being said...the IQ is awful?

Also, the gunplay isn't great.

I'm not sure how people can say gunplay is now worse. I feel that it's much more meaty and satisfying than it ever was in the first game.

On the other hand, I can definitely agree that the map design in both Takodana and Naboo isn't great. Also, the graphics seem worse for some reason.

For me it has this weird stiffness to it now. It's like they went too far in the opposite direction. Feels like I'm fighting the game to aim. Not a fan but different strokes for different folks.

The gunplay feels horrible compared to the first one. Flying controls feel kinda weird as well, though i'm not sure if anything changed if you compare it to the original Battlefront.

So far it's definitely not turning into the game I had hoped it would finally be. Will probably pick this up weeks if not months after release for a very cheap price.

Anyone getting an issue where they can't join any multiplayer games?

After selecting a game mode and the 5 second countdown, I am just thrown back to main menu...

(on ps4)

I gotta say that im actually enjoying starfighter assault a lot now that I'm better with the controls. Keep trying the ground combat in hopes of it clicking but sadly it isn't. Really bums me out. I love Star Wars so much. Just want a great SW game!

What core gameplay from the first is missing in the second?

Did you change the controller sensitivity? I noticed it was set to, like, 27% for gunplay and 50% for flight.

I've actually played with it quite a bit in the past couple days. Haven't found something which makes it feel "right" for me which has been dissapointing. I appreciate the suggestion though!

The Naboo map is so bad for this kind of game. Its amazing they went for it for a beta.
Hoth from BF 1 beta was so much better, its not even funny.

I also do not understand the pop-up on Strike map, Battlefield 1 and Battlefront 1 didnt have it even though the fidelity was the same.

Why are there so many birds flying around Naboo? A few birds flying here and there for effect is fine but there a birds taking off every few seconds. I can barely see the blaster fire coming out of the guns either.

Less birds and more blaster fire please!

The gunplay is taking me a while to get used to as well.

Maybe it's some stress test thing. I kinda like all the birds and leaves floating around, seems like a real place and not just another death match arena.

I still feel that the heroes are a totally stupid idea, that has no place in games like these.

Aside from that, I'm totally uninmpressed so far. Is mot bad, but I'm not having much fun.

Even if you set autoaim to off it still pulls your cursor all over the place. I could swear I've had it pull my aim straight up when I try to ADS a bunch of times.

Plus like many people said earlier, the guns don't feel like Star Wars blasters. They just feel like guns.

It's a bit too much though, like they went overboard with it, so hopefully it is just stress testing. It's particularly annoying because it seems to have replaced the blaster fire.

In the old Battlefront you could literally see what seemed like hundreds of blaster bolts flying through the air during Walker Assault or big modes like that. It made battles seem so much more epic!

I hate everyone who bitched about the 2015 game's gunplay.

I really miss it too.
Something about this seems off. I can't tell if it's the actual aim, or the lack of visual feedback when you're shooting your blaster (I can barely see the blaster bolts this time).

On the naboo map, it sucks when you escort the objective to the palace and then you get...... 30 spawns for 20 people to do the next objective.

Find it wierd that you apply a card that has an image of a tie figher or bomber, on an xwing or y wing.

Menu UI seems to be of the Republic. Why not have the rebels / good guys in the animations too?

This went from my most anticipated game of the year to a game i probably won't even buy. The gunplay just doesn't feel right. It feels, unpredictable? Giving The guns more recoil is fine, but not when it makes the shooting feel random. The maps in the beta are also unbelievably bad, and you'd think they would show off the best ones?

Let's hope they make some major changes to the overall gunplay. If not, I'll probably pass on this one ;(

I found enabling advanced flight controls and turning off auto roll made space combat 100x better. It's near where the sensitivity settings are.

I played about four hours so far and I love it. People forget that in the first battlefront beta the hoth map was an unbalanced nightmare and they fixed it. Do some googling. Dice takes feedback well. As for gun play, feels good to me, doesn't feel wildly different from first one but I play a lot of battlefield and it's more in that direction.

Game runs fantastic in my 1080.

What the hell is up with the horrible lag on the menu screens? The actual gameplay is buttery smooth but post match I'm getting like 5 FPS. Anyone else having this problem on PC?

I'm enjoying it, feels better to me than the first game which I wasn't too keen on. The space battles and controls are so much better. I just wish I could turn off the CA.
