Remember update 4.0 from earlier this month? Remember that change?

- Submarine diving and surfacing angles The angle of a sub when it dives or surfaces will not be as steep, which makes it easier to evade frontal attacks.

Well, you can forget it: it's now back to 3.0 settings. Seems to be the only change in that 4.1 update.

Update requires 326 blocks (at least in Europe)

Hello, this is Takaya Imamura, director of Steel Diver: Sub Wars. As always, thank you very much for playing.

Today, we are releasing Version 4.1. In this update, after receiving feedback from many players, we've changed the submarine's diving and surfacing angles back to how they were in Version 3.0. We had originally adjusted the submarine's diving and surfacing angles in order to avoid the problem that even when you surfaced to evade a torpedo coming from the front, it would still hit the back of the submarine as it came up. However, we got a lot of comments from players saying that as a result of this adjustment they can no longer evade attacks as before, or that the evasion techniques they have perfected are now useless.

Based on this feedback, and after carefully discussing the issue and doing some more play-testing, we decided to revert the change. We thought this would be the best solution for the majority of players, and allow them to make use of their evasion techniques and tricks.

We apologise for making frequent changes to the gameplay, but we hope you'll be happy to hear about this one! Please continue to enjoy Steel Diver: Sub Wars!

Nintendo's dedication to this game is seriously fascinating.

I strongly suspect they're using it a testbed of sorts. It may not be making them a huge amount of money, but as a low-risk platform for messing around with F2P it's probably very useful.

Yeah, I wonder how profitable this game is for them. Also, I wonder if they'll be updating the game with Amiibo support. Like maybe unlocking skins based off of the Amiibo character you scan. Nintendo needs more Amiibo-supported games for the 3DS and this one seems like an easy pick.

I love this little game, and I'm glad they changed the surface angles back to what they were. Really, all this game is missing is some nice bot-match or horde-esque modes to play with friends.
