I'll follow her. Ok bye

I read the book. The ending of the book was ambiguous and has a different ending than the film, overall, the book was kind of a slog to read through. I do a lot of walking myself, about 4 miles on average a day, and in the book, if you fall below 4MPH you catch a warning. After three warnings, you get shot. Most of the time, I average 4MPH. Now doing that for 300 miles, day and night wouldn't be possible and I am in very fit condition. I'd probably catch it about mile 50 or 60. 😅 Also, by the end of the book, their shoes are pretty much gone, and they are walking barefoot on messed up feet. Because I do so much walking in Hoka brand shoes, I can definitely attest to shoes wearing out faster than you expect, even the high dollar versions. They are just made so cheaply that they just start falling apart after a couple hundred miles. I used to walk about 7-10 miles a day and I could wear out a pair in a few weeks.

Interesting. Wonder how much research king put into that. I bet we'll get a YouTuber doing this eventually. Seems right up Mr beasts alley

I think Mr. King was at one point a very avid walker up until he was struck by the van. The book captures the experience very well. What I didn't like is that there was a lot of banter between so many different characters that it was hard to keep track of and most of the conversations were just BSing with next to zero exposition. I didn't even realize who the main character was until the closing chapters of the book. One of the guys even tries to get it on standing up with this girl in a group watching from the sidelines real quick, He gets blue balls, cramps up afterward, bitches about it and keels over on the road in tears and gets shot. I doubt that made it into the movie, but when I read that part I was just like that's King being King as usual. 😂

Good film overall, and I feel so satisfied seeing something like this being made (and being relatively successful) in 2025. A movie just about a bunch of young dudes. A few big-deal sequences, but it's 90 percent just walking (and talking). And talking a bunch of empty BS part of the time, at that. Still, enough chilling moments to keep you on edge a bit.

The only real issue I had was Hamill. He didn't ruin it or anything, but he was constantly distracting. I feel like they could have done that bit differently, overall I dug this film and would recommend it.

Didn't like Hoffman JR in Licorice Pizza (didn't like that film at all actually) but he was in good form here.
