Spielberg never liked the script, called it crap last week and stopped production, and wanted re-writes to keep him attached to the movie. Thats when production was halted.

So re-writes will be done to please Spielberg

Thanks to Angelo Cocchiaro for pointing this to me.

This coming from a guy who made TLW, produced JP3, and supported the JP4 script with mutant military raptors

Sounds like he wasn't getting paid enough.

Where the fuck was this "crap" statement on the second and third film?

Not sure how accurate this is, I'm asking around. I mean, they seem pretty sure of it, but it doesn't mesh entirely with what I was told.

Considering this mothafucka directed The Lost World, this script must've been absolutely putrid for Da Berg to put a stop to it

I heard the script was fine, and that out of nowhere Universal wanted something less...'Jurassic Park' more 'generic money making summer film'.

He's also the guy who though JP needed something 'new' which led to them going down the mutant paratrooping dinosaurs route for 3 years. New is fine, but remembering what made the first film a success is important. I don't want a random action monster apocalyptic movie with Dinosaurs. Let that be a new IP.

Haven't loved Spielburgs latest movies, that doesn't mean he can't recognize a good script. But I really want this script to leak, I gotta see this for myself and see what it would have been like.

This is the man who took a shit on Dan Harmon's script for Monster House. Also, these writers for JP4 wrote Rise of the Planet of the Apes, a film that also had no right to be good... so I'm gonna guess Spielberg is talking shit.

I'm really scared that is exactly what both Spielberg and Universal are looking for. The script was probably really faithful to the JP mythos and had a team going back to restart Nublar and it would be more slower paced and scientific which is not what spielberg and the studio want.

We're talking about the same Spielberg right?

also can we stop pretending that the lost world was on the level of some Michael bay shit, cause its not. that would be JP3.

He is also executive producer of the Transformers movies lol

also one of the greatest filmakers ever, fuckin acting like he's never made a good movie.

Yup.

I honestly fear Universal may want JP4 to be so 'new' and 'bold' that it no longer resembles a 'Jurassic Park' film.

It been long enough. Give us a nostalgia fest sequel that then takes the franchise to potential new places by the end.
