Strange but true fun facts about yourself

I am a former opiate addict and I didn't become addicted until I was 26. Years clean now though.

I dropped out of school in the ninth grade, got my GED at 23 and had my first college class at 26. I'm now the proud holder of a mostly useless poly sci degree.

I was a squatter from 13-17. Left home, hopped trains and hitchhiked all over the country (US here)

I was a prolific thief in my early teens. Stealing high end clothing from department stores and selling it in on the streets for weed and video games.

I asked my former fiance to marry me on the 6 o'clock news (she was a producer) and it was the biggest story on their website for almost a year. We split up lol

I once squatted an empty building in Texas that was haunted and was screamed at by ghosts. There were over 12 people in the building that also heard the noises. It was only three rooms so easy to identify no one was screaming out of our group.

I once squatted in a dried out Creek bed also in Texas. It was behind a school for the deaf. The bed got raided around 2am by the police. I ran through the campus of the deaf high school to the main Street out front to get away. While I was running several deaf kids started running around the grounds making weird noises and when I hit the main street they formed a gauntlet 40 people long and forced me to walk through it while they pushed me and made noises.

I have scoliosis and Didn't know until I was 28. I had an appointment for a fall bladder issue and my dr said "oh by the way you have scoliosis"

I partied with ween.

I talk in my sleep. Sometimes copies amounts. I used to hallucinate while waking up in the middle of the night. My dr said it was some condition (don't recall the name) where you don't completely wake up from rem sleep.

I've been off of opiates for years but I still nod out sometimes. I just get sleepy and fall asleep wherever I'm at for brief moments

This whole post is amazing, and I hope you write a book. But what on Earth was going on with those kids? It doesn't sound like they wanted to ensure you were caught by the cops. From their perspective, you were an unfortunate homeless guy who was living in a creek bed. So sure, you ran through their campus, but it sounds like their reaction was to haze you...?

Way to cope with everything life threw at you. Kicking opiates is impressive enough, but it sounds like your teens were brutal.

Don't tell my family but I leave the door open on purpose so more ice will form :(

1) Quantum stuff! Precognition isn't that weird in terms of physics.

2) James Randi has fooled you, just as he's fooled the rest of the scientific community. Do you think he'd actually tell anyone if he discovered a person with powers? Do you think anyone with powers needs his money? Putting any stock in his test is ridiculous. It's a smokescreen. The biggest joke the devil ever picked is believing you he didn't exist.
Science and the arts don't mix. Remember Newton's first dynamic law: no energy can not be neither created nor destroyed. He cared about facts and figures, not syllables and antonyms. That's also why English isn't affected by gravity or magnetism.
What is this absurd nonsense? Joke post? Or are you high?

I didn't know that BABY Bell cheese had a wax shell around it that you had to open to get to the cheese inside.

I had been eating the whole thing like that for years until someone pointed it out to me at a party 7 years ago...we had a laugh about it...

And then...
I married that person. She is the love of my life..

I have SOOOOO many more crazy experiences but that deaf school one always shook me. Shit was weird as fuck. It wasn't the first time with them either. They'd come out in the middle of the night and hoot and holler and run around. Real strange stuff.

As for the opiates thanks. My teens were indeed brutal (and amazing) and I'm still not a grown up in my 30's since I missed all that responsibility building stuff most teens get to do but I made it out the other side and I couldn't be happier in my "old" age.

Hell yeah.
They were amazing. I've seen them countless times but to throw back a couple handles of vodka and just watch the band switch instruments and jam out while I hung out and got crazy messed up with them was something I'll never forget. The most talented group of musicians I've ever been around and I've been around a lot

For some reason I feel calm hearing my dog eats his food, mainly the crunching of his kibbles in his mouth, especially since he's a big dog and he's a loud eater or hearing him chewing on his bone. Usually hearing people eat, smacking their lips, and chewing bothers the hell out of me though, but not my dog.

I can type on my phone without looking at my screen. Taught myself how to do that during highschool.

I ran away from my very first day at school as a toddler.

I only remember sneaking under the other kids' desks to the exit of the small classroom. Can't remember anything about my way home or how my parents reacted to it when I returned. They did tell me they went to school to ask how the fuck it could even happen though.

Solid Snake skills.

I married a lady who came out as a lesbian. We've separated but are still great friends.

I'm 40 and dating a 25 year old. That's not trivia, it's just weird.

Edit - I'm not Ross from Friends

I started lifting, working out and eating healthy my senior of high school because of a porno I saw where a dude lifted a girl up in the air above his head and went down on her. I've been working out ever since. All my friends think it's a stupid or ridiculous reason but hey I went from 250 pounds to 180 in a couple of months my senior year....
I've managed to lift a couple of women above my head since then 👍

I jerk off with my left hand because you use your right hand to shake others hands. Yeah I'm kinda weird like that.

I spent 3 years as a panhandling homeless heroin addict with no hope or future.

I now have a beautiful girlfriend, a relationship with Christ, and I've been sober for 15 months.

I am :) I've been at it for... About 10 years now!

So cool! And you knew the lyrics to 22 so more respect for you! lol.

On topic:

- I've never had any kind of relationship/never kissed someone romantically in 24 years.
- I've never smoked nor drink anything in 24 years.
- I always wake up 15 minutes before the alarm goes off (whenever i put the alarm)

Wrote your video game for you.
Hung up on Harlan Ellison.
Touched Jason Giambi's baseball uniform and asked him if it was velvet.
Modeled for a photo shoot used in an article in ToyFare Magazine.
Helped plan a heist where we stole Jim Lee's baseball hat.
Got frisked by Uwe Boll at the San Francisco film festival.
Ate 19 White Castle belly bombs in one sitting and still lost the eating competition.

I had sex in an ambulance car, also Im a medic.

For us two it was a kinda erotic feeling knowing we'd have sex on the same bed where we just had a patient who suffered a head trauma an hour ago

Not me, as I am boring but family....

Two of my great uncles didn't meet until WWII when one surrendered to the other during the battle of the bulge. My dad still has the picture of them hugging in some french town.

This is the first generation of my family on both sides where someone didn't serve and die during war in a navy since the 1600s.

My moms aunt was a moonshiner that worked with and apparently slapped Al Capone.

Speaking of which, I had a teacher that my mom hated with a passion and career she ruined who had the last name of Ness.

As for me, I failed my way out of high school and after a nice life driving truck, took a factory job and eventually took up the family trade of brewing stuff that could wake the dead while still doing factory work to keep things honest.

Couldn't think of much, but maybe this:

2 - 3 years ago I met friends of family who had some computer problems. Even though I'm not that tech savy, people do always point to me to solve these problems. So without making any promises, I decided to try and help them.
These people were an older couple and the woman had some severe health problems. They didn't have children and her health problems made it difficult for her to leave the house much, limiting her ways of having social contact. Her computer was important to her in that way and I solved the issues she had, because it were easy fix troubles. 2 problems arose for me:

- She kept calling me with more and more issues and I went back there several times. All this without charging anything, but that didn't bother me. But it became obvious it was more about me being there to talk to than anything else.

- The real issue was her attitude. It quickly became obvious she was a very toxic person who had trouble with everyone. She had fights with her neighbours, she talked bad about her husband behind his back, she was paranoid about someone else who previously worked on her computer and she thought she was spying on her now, ... I really had a bad feeling about how she talked about other people. It made me feel less and less inclined to continue visiting and helping her out. She was always very friendly to me though.

Now to come to the point of the story 1 day she hands me over a paper, her will, that stated she would leave all my possessions to me after her dead. I was confused and the overall feeling for me was like I was being bought for companionship. I'm pretty sure she was rich and I guess I'm weird in the way that many would have been happy to keep up with the polite monthly visits, but for me it was the moment I decided to break contact. It just felt too wrong.

TLDR: Met and older couple whose sick wife wrote me in her will as only beneficiary. I declined because of her toxic nature towards other people. I think many people wouldn't, but maybe I'm wrong.

It's a stupid story and I thought about deleting it when I had written it, but here it is anyway.

I experience hypnogogic hallucinations on a regular basis. I usually see patterns that make repetitive motions while sort of converging into each other while expanding. Thankfully I haven't had any scary ones in a while!

That's really rad.

I had a 19 year streak of not vomiting................ which ended in tears when I had gastro..... wasn't fun!

Used to mention it with pride (particularly after the Seinfeld episode and his 8 year vomit free streak!).

I actually like spoilers. Before seeing a movie or a show or even for games I'd usually read the full plot on wikipedia. It doesn't afect my enjoyment at all.

-I'm 28yo and I still haven't experienced oral sex in any way :(
-I apparently have a very high pain tolerance according to doctors I've dealt with who've had to to do procedures that they warned were going to be "very painful" or have painful after effects for some time.
-I don't get a traditional kind of hangover after getting wasted. Neither does my grandma or dad.

I don't believe it. This sounds like when my wife says her stepdad is related to Albert Einstein

I'm not sure if I do either. My entire family swears by it, though. They say it so confidently that it's easy to believe. Seems like an oddly specific thing to make up, too.

100%, I honestly thought something was wrong with me the first time my ex went down on me.

Im 18 so I dont really have many fun facts to share aside from some stories with my ex.

Honestly, I'm not THAT interesting.

Honestly, the most interspersing thing, if anything, is that I'm a never been kissed virgin, and yet... a atheist at this very moment. 33 year year old atheist for the last several years BTW. A antagonistic since my late teens, or early twenties BTW.

Otherwise... IDK... largely boring.

I use to LOVE chicken only two years ago... and yet... am now a vegan at 33 years old. But... that could describe vegans much more more interesting/older than myself.

From your tone, it sounds like the never-been-kissed thing comes from a philosophical place rather than circumstance, despite your atheism. Feel free to ignore this, but I'd love to know why you'd make that choice. Do you think you might be asexual?
